But how do I create such dice? I don't want to click on a link. I want them to create the sides of the dice and be able to roll those virtually.

Hi Mary! Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, what you have described is not an option in Google Slides right now. You can embed an image on a slide and set it to go to another slide in the presentation when it is clicked on. But, doing that, would take students to same slide with the same number every time as you cannot change the settings so that it goes to any random slide in the presentation. If you do not want students clicking on a link, the first option I show in this video is the best. It prevents students from having to deviate from the presentation but does require installing the extension.

You could also embed a "dice roll" UA-cam video like this SlidesMania template does: slidesmania.com/interactive-digital-board-game-template/ . That template also somehow includes a "Dice" option up in the menu (next to File, Edit, etc.) that gives students text-based rolls; I don't know how to add that option to other Google Slides presentations, though. The video dice were pretty easy for my students to use.

You don't need access to the web store. I show a few different ways this can be done, one of which involves linking. Make sure to watch all the way through.
