You guys are great. I noticed that you guys focused on a lot of small but important things that many reviewers missed. Like the towing hitch etc.
Thank you for nice review, this is the only video I found that we’re reviewing hybrid versions which most people would buy and matter. The other UA-camrs were only reviewing hybrid max, your video focus more of every day driving. Really appreciate!
Yeah I can’t afford the platinum hybrid max but the hybrid xle… I might be able to swing that
Most people talk about wanting the top trim, buy in reality mid trims are most common. I myself can't even afford the base one, but not because of the MSRP (Even though is at my limit) but because of all greedy dealers adding those mark ups and added rip off accessories.
We don't even need that much horsepower so hybrid XLE might do for us as a family!
Love the color and the whole SUV all around.

One very downside of CX9 and obvious less comparable to Highlander or even a Grand Highlander , the THIRD row has NO AC vent
Same to Acura MDX , thus no one really wants to sit in third row without air vent! That's the reason I do not upgrade to 2024 MDX or move to CX9 (although made in Japan!)
@@jpthsd and the fact that the MDX and cx90 third row seats are tighter compares to the GH.

Greetings from southern Ontario Canada I really enjoyed the video looking forward to seeing this crossover here I'm enjoying my Toyota RAV4 PRIME and I haven't had it that long and gasoline prices are higher than the United States I do the conversion every day our price increases thanks for the presentation
I think it would be nice to have parking sensors in the base trim. This won’t be a fun vehicle to park in a crowded underground parking lots. Great video guys. Agreed this is the best value option.

Perfect family road trip vehicle
I am about to receive my peasent trim grand islander soon after having been on a waiting list for a platinum trim regular islander for over a year lol.
This vehicle would have been unbeatable if Toyota would have made a Prime version with at least 315 HP and 32 miles of EV range. This is something I would have definitely bought hands down.
Excellent feedback. Luckily they did. It’s called the hybrid max but is effectively the same concept of the rav4 prime. Think is it as the rav6 prime.
@@TexasTruckChannel Honestly? I wish the HybridMax was a plug-in version. I do appreciate the power of that powertrain but I want more efficiency. If Toyota brought the HybridMax horsepower down to like 340 HP and then gave it an MPG rating of at least 26 city and 32 hwy then that would have been stellar.
The Lexus TX has an incredible plug-in hybrid version but kinda defeated the purpose of a vehicle this size by only being able to seat 6.
I really like the Grand Highlander though. It looks even better in person. Sadly I have a feeling that it will be replacing the regular Highlander. It makes no sense for it to exist given how the Grand Highlander is only a couple thousand more and gives you much more for the money while not being cumbersome type of big.
I think the best option for me would be the Limited Hybrid AWD. However, I'd try to haggle my way for the dealer to give me the 18 inch tires instead. I'd much rather have a more comfortable ride quality.
Thank you for this video btw, the regular Hybrid version isn't getting too much attention. Everyone is obsessed with the HybridMax.

This is what I ordered but chose to add the pano roof. We start mass production next week, and can't wait to get it for family! These are going to be hard to come by if you don't order soon! And they look even better in person!

I love tiny wheels too. My 2017 Lexus ES350 have tiny 17” wheels. It rides better and cheaper than those 18-9” wheels. But Of course it doesn’t as nice as those bigger wheels.
I think you can get the actual tow hitch on the xle model as a 950 dollar option. I think it will tow 3500 lbs when equipped

Anyone know if these have that annoying ass start/stop feature on them? If they do, is there a way to disable it?
I just purchased one a few days ago, GH Max Hybrid Limited and while it is really an awesome vehicle overall, there is one small or major problem, depending how you look at it. The fuel tank capacity and range Toyota advertises and is in the user manual is about 17.2 gallon tank with about 450 mile range. If you do some internet searches for Grand Highlander Fuel Capacity Issues or inaccurate, you'll find many are having the same issue, and it was a known issue with previous Highlanders and Rav 4.
I basically can only fill the tank up on about empty to about 10 gallons, and it will only get about 370ish miles range. This is annoying, because it means more trips to the gas station and also, it was not disclosed to me this was an issue at purchase. ]When you pay about $60K for a vehicle, to a company that has been around as long as Toyota, you wouldn't expect to have this as a problem, yet, here we are...
Toyota is falsely advertising a major feature with regards to fuel and capacity and needs to recall/make this right ASAP.

That was one reason why I traded in my 2020 RAV4, 10 gallons, only goes up to 3/4 tank on the actual gauge. Gas station every other day, I was getting 33-34 mpg when Toyota advertised 40 on it too.
Why would a gas cap be disappointing? Capless systems are a a pain when they leak.

Acoustic windshield. The platinum and limited also have acoustic side glass, per the onsite presentation.

Is the 310 torque is correct for Hybrid? Is it for AWD? Other reviewers are saying Toyota not calming torque on Hybrid electric motor. I know 2.4 L Turbo has 310 Torque.
Yes it is. Per the vehicle spec sheet at the event.

I don't think your combined torque figure for hybrid here is accurate since 310 is for the gas model

Because humans like shiny things. Or they like shinier things next to less shiny things on the dealer lot.
I seem to the one of the few common sense human that thinks smaller wheels and bigger tires are better for a vehicle like this. This is not a sports car or performance, but a family one, so why rolling on huge wheel? More expensive tires, you feel more the road imperfections, harsher ride and easier to get damage.
On Toyota website, it says you can tow 3500 lbs with XLE AWD hybrid as did my salesman. Is this not correct? I need it to be able to tow.

Sell it to the dealer, the Sienna in such shortage you will get top dollar for it. If you have a extra car, then buy the GH in a year or two.
No, you have a 2022 vehicle, no need too. Vehicles are not phones, heck, phones should last at least 3 years. A Vehicles 5 at a minimum.

Really? 20" wheels? Is not a sports car. That's the reason why I dislike higher trims, big wheels should be an aftermarket thing.

Sunroofs are available. Just not standard on the base trim.

BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU BUY A NEW GRAND HIGHLANDER .Grand Highlander Having a bad sound issue .
I bought a brand new Grand Highlander 2024 and it`s making a booing sound and too much pressure in the cabin and it`s giving me and my family a headache and ear pain. the sound is coming from bottom of the car from the 2nd raw area. I brought it back to the dealership and they said there was a another GH owner also having the same sound issue and they don`t know how to fix the issue .I couldn't drive the car because the sound giving us ear pain and headache. I contact the Toyota customer care many times and they are not doing anything on it. I am really Upset and I never expect something from a trusted brand like Toyota. Now I spend a huge amount of money and I cannot drive the car . The dealership and Toyota don`t know how to solve the issue. so be careful before you buy a Grand Highlander. Do a test drive and make sure there is no such sound on your car because even if you bring it back to fix it ,they don`t know how to fix it .
I would never again buy a FWD or RWD SUV. If it is SUV, it must be AWD or 4x4

Seeing how pathetic this thing was in your off road test in Hawaii, i would not touch a highlander or its dealer markups with a 30ft pole. You are better off buying a 30 year old 4runner if you plan on leaving the pavement.

This SUV was almost perfect i was two weeks from signing on one until i realized it only has a a 300ish mile range. Truly not a 17gallon tank more like 12.
