    If a number of people have been fooled, and they don't change the sign, they should be reported to Trading Standards for a deceptive practice.

      Last time I tried to contact my local trading standards I got "Liverpool Samaritans" who seem to have got the contract, but who didn't have a clue what I was talking about. It all seems bit minor now after now having to pay £25 Ulez fees to go visit my grand-daughter for the night.

    This happened to me a few years ago at my local Morrisons, special section with bacon, sausage, ribs etc... I queried it at checkout and the supervisor went to check. Turns out whoever had stocked up had used the wrong ribs. She cancelled the ribs at the till and gave them to me as an apology... Result 👍

      🤣🤣No, they don't do it on purpose, anyway if its merchandised with a ticket stating £3 they are legally obliged to give it to you at the price stated, more often that not it's idiot punters picking them up and deciding they don't want them and rather than put them back where they picked it up from just dump it with a not my problem attitude. There is a possibility of a member of staff replenishing incorrectly and if mentioned by someone thinking 'they do this all the time' the store has to remove the product if it's clearly a mistake as it is a regulatory service offence carrying hefty fines regarding the sale of goods act.

      Asda is a bugger for mispricing and mislabelling shelfs. They used to have a policy where they’d give you a £3 voucher for any mistakes, rofl.. I cashed in on this every single week, as did my mother, got our receipts, sat on windowsill to review it before leaving store, went to CS said not right.. had them running around store checking to find we were right every single time 😂😂 needless to say after a year of their dishonesties and our calling them out they stopped issuing £3 vouchers, now they just continue with their dishonesties on their shelf with no customer inconvenience payments 😮

    For people stating you can demand the goods for the advertised price thats not actually correct its up to the shops if they wish to honor the price. As you have been informed before handing over any money, no contract has yet been formed.
    If you realise you’ve paid more for an item than it was advertised for at the time then you can ask for the shop to refund the difference between what you paid and what was advertised

    When I was working in the food industry, I used to check intakes of cuts of meat and it always baffled me why were we buying good cuts of meat from other countries, surely there must be more expensive than the same product from Britain. And mind you, this was fresh meat, not frozen, sometimes the kill dates were from 2-3 days before, so it would be as fresh as it could be.
    I managed to talk with some friends in the company and inquire exactly that, why could we just buy British?
    Short and straightforward answer: "Britain does not produce enough." Simple as.

    • @Taz6688
      @Taz6688 Рік тому

      In many cases UK meat is strictly controlled, check and verified as to where it comes from, so it can be traced, meat sourced from other countries is easier to obfuscate the product line, remember this is how we had horse meat sold as beef, it's not hard to lay a fake paper trail, hide the product through a few shipping agents, it's been going on for ages.

    Brings to mind the feeding of the gulls out of the kitchen window at the Arctic radar station I worked at in the '80s. The competitive little buggers would inhale whatever got near their beak. One time one of the flying stomachs swallowed a whole rib, and you could see the curve it put on its neck when it wouldn't go all the way down. 😂

They also practice other underhand methods to sell excess stock which involves putting stock deliberately in wrong locations, one was putting caramel ice lollies where the almond ones should be so I ended up buying the wrong ones as the packaging is the same, another one is putting strawberries where raspberries should be, I told the staff about it and they basically snubbed me and left the stock as it was.

    Both Lidl and Aldi do some good ribs for about £4. Still, if you compare store bought ribs to a Chicken and Rib Shop price? they still work out cheaper. I personally think £7.99 is a bit pricy, even for what I consider to be an ‘ artisan ‘ rack of ribs. I’ve had ribs from both of the above named stores and they too had the meat falling off the bone. A good review Gareth. I suppose it’s all down to how much you are willing to pay.

    Farmfoods do a 1.5 kilo pack of raw pork ribs for £11, I let them defrost and then put them in the slow cooker for around 4 hours on high. Then you can cover them in whatever flavour you want and then in the air fryer or oven for about 15 minutes. Give it a go.

    I used to buy similar in ASDA, until I realised that the meat was soft and not enjoyable. Grossly overpriced at a shade under £8. If you must have ribs - buy fresh and slow-cook in oven OR prepare in Sous Vide prior to finishing in a hot oven. Generally - ribs are very poor value for money - Tenderloin is actually cheaper !

      @@fookoff9220 Good point there though may be means wet because another problem with such products is buying 100 grams of water. 180 to 200 grams of bone plus the subtraction for what the sauces weighed in at. In the end the meat we buy these for is under 200 grams thats ludicrous as you say.

    Every time that's happened to me ive got it for the lower price on the ticket not my fault they cant price their goods right by right you should have got them for the 3,00 as they where advertising it. They even admitted there was a problem with the price that should have been sorted the first time it happened. When i complained once i followed the staff and saw she had moved the item from where it was originally and i told her that she had moved it. Some one higher in the shop Manager came and i told her every thing. I got it for the lower price lol i don't let them get away with it if you complain loud enough they don't want other shoppers hearing what they did . Thanks for sharing. They are to busy sending the stuff abroad we should get it first British made ❤
