M&S ready meals have been consistently fantastic for decades, I worked at one of their food halls in my teens in 2002-04. The portions are bigger than you first expect and so worth the price imo.
used to be 3 for £7. Have to admit you will not better the M&S Italian meals. Aldi are knocking a lasagne out at £2.50 and it's hunt the soya when you peel back the layers, terrible rip off quality compared to Marks
Yep good quality food I just ordered my Christmas dinner on there food to order gone for the leg lamb with red wine gravy and salted caramel tiramisu cheescake you pay 50.00 deposit pick it up on 23rd dec with veg selection all prept and goose fat roast potatoes no prepping required just pop in oven it’s easy worth it easier Christmas Day 😊
I've been shopping too, In my shopping was some chestnut mushrooms from Tesco, nothing wrong with that. Was planning making a small batch curry that I could freeze n use later. The mushrooms had spoiled with 2 days to go. 1 shroom on bottom of tray ruined all of them, one's on top looked good but nah it smelled rancid. taking them back tomorrow.
That looked the business, and yes, screaming out for pilau rice or just plain basmati and a dustbin lid sized keema naan. M&S Indian food is unrivalled especially their tandoori range. Great review G 👍👍
It looks delicious, and even the price is comparable to a takeaway and plenty of chicken. Will definitely try this. Great review, Gareth . Doing OK, mate.
That looked really good Gareth. M&S have an offer for the family roast dinner for £20. 1 main, 4 sides & a pot of gravy. Delicious! There's no waste. Loving your M&S reviews. Thank you 👍
I've got a top tip for you Gaz. Get to Asda and get to the frozen pizza, they have a *Spicy Pepperoni Sharing Flatbread* and it's absolutely brilliant. It's massive, has a really thin crust, and the chillies really pack a punch. I've gone through about half a dozen of them in the last month 😅 Best thing is, they're only £3, or 2 for a fiver! Trust me 😎
The British chicken is probably the reason it's £5.50 and not £3.99...always buy British myself even if it's more expensive (within reason) but I understand for a lot of people an extra quid or 50p on an item is a big difference over the course of a food shop.
I get this regularly and just eat it out the tub with a large naan bread to mop up the sauce. It's pricey but you know it's good and it's the best chicken I've had in 1 of these preprepared supermarket curries. I do agree that I don't know what they think char grilled adds to it because for me it doesn't add anything.
Nice review - I have had this several times myself and love it. But I think it's just the old version in new packaging. And been creased in price by £1.00.
Hi Gareth, Glad u enjoyed that makes it worth the money 👍 ………Gareth, just a pointer with Christmas approaching fast trifles and Christmas cake usually have some sort of drink mixed into the ingredients ( hope you didn’t mind me saying Gareth ) all the best Lin 👍🙂
I love your reviews and pie autopsies as well, this will go with rice and a naan bread, serve with either a mango lassi or milk xx you will sleep tonight with a positive sea peel test xx
Looks the business! £5.50p is probably worth it. Quality and quantity 👍. What's not to like! I love curry, too! Rice and garlic naan! Fantastic 👍 Definitely something I'd have myself. Great review as always! We know when something is good by the approving look on your face, and all is well. All the best!
Nice one. Cheers. There looked to be a lot of Ghee, I am fine with that. Ready meals tend to scrimp on this ingredient. I could imagine enjoying this dish with a fresh Naan and some Pilau. Marks rarely gets it wrong. Would I pay £5.50? Hell yes, if the food is that good. Buying 3 Curries for £6.00 sounds like a bargain, but they often disappoint. We deserve quality food and we should treat ourselves at least once in a while. Thanks Gareth.
Hello Gareth, who is a happy chappy 😊 A nice tasty curry, not a hot'urn but enjoyable. Obviously the whole thing, the full meal deal would be fantastic, but you pay for quality. You could spend a few extra quid on the sides. Round it up to say,£20.Be a great fake away for two. 😊 I'll stick with me Chinese, or Italian or even Fish&Chips Enjoy the Ruby mate and I will see you in the next video Allan&Family
The best chilled ready meal Madras out there. It beats all other supermarket brands in my view. It's been around for years but they updated the packaging recently so it looks very new.
Ingredients look pretty good, compared to an Iceland £2 jobby. I'm pretty sure if you compared, the Iceland one has more 'dodgy stuff in it. a lot less Chicken, and most important Flavour. You do get what you pay for. M&S is usually Quality. even the Juice looks banging.. Yes, the 'Lean Back' was there. 10/10( I'd eat that )
My fave winter warmer is a good Madras [Madarse for those that know me] i think if i bought that M&S one though i'd end up putting a good sprinkle of chilli powder in
I remember once we got an M&S £50 food voucher just before Xmas. We didn't add up what we bought but when we went to the checkout it came to bang on £50, the quality of M&S food is 1st class. All the very best Gareth. Tim 😅
Stayed in Hawkshead 20 years ago at Keen Ground Cottage with my late Wife. I remember there was an expensive pub restaurant called Drunken (something).
M&S curry’s are very good.Sometimes i treat myself to one of their Lamb curries, really good and tasty.Pricewise everythings relative, many restaurants would probably charge much more than what you pay in M&S and sometimes the quality may not be as good.Good review.
Afternoon Gareth Chicken Madras from M and S ah! bit pricy! Most of their meals have got so pricy. Mind you there looks like a lot of chicken in the curry making me so hungry will have to pop out later and go and buy one! Great vlog Thank you Sue
I like their butter chicken, it has huge pieces of chicken in it and it’s delicious. I’ll only buy it when it’s on yellow label, so a bit hit and miss.
MS - about the best ready meals you can get really. I still prefer to brew my own.... but this looks good. Tons of UK chicken... fab... and curry leaves (really difficult to get fresh ones... these look fresh and not dried. Lovely. Char grilled seals the meat and stops it going slimey. It also gets that Mayard reaction that gets the meat sweet and flavoursome. 9/10.
Well it certainly looks okay and a high percentage of chicken for a ready meal however Sainsburys do a very similar product 400 gram chicken madras and there's contains 35% chicken but it's only £3.75 at the moment so I'm thinking I would sacrifice a couple of less pieces of chicken if it means saving £1.75 but then M & S have always been rob dogs.
Bonjour from Montréal!! We have an Indian restaurant near our apartment. They do a Madras curry for about $20 Canadian dollars, that's with rice and condiments to with it. Not sure how much it's in UK currency. I know my mum who's in Edinburgh might give this a go, she loves a good curry!! Xx
Have to say Gareth all the Indian range at M&S is first class great for an Indian weekend treat. I stay away from Indian takeaways etc ie street ones I prefer to go to an actual Indian sit down restaurant, ours is The Shampan great staff service and food ❤️ 🌈❤️🏴🏴
Love M&S curry, not a fan of hot stuff but butter chicken and tikka masala are delicious....they often have the £15 deal on and you get 2 mains and 2 sides for that which is a lot cheaper than an Indian take away in Aberdeen!
If there is one thing M&S Food do really well, it's the Curry ready meals. I wish they would bring their Chicken Piri-Piri Curry back though. That was amazing.
I had the M&S extra hot Tikka masala last night and it was delicious . Five chilli rating but I'd say it's maybe a four . Like you say tons of chicken and I'd definitely have it again . Not quite as good as Aldi's Bilash Phal but it's close ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🌶️🌶️🌶️
We regularly buy the M&S 'Dine In for Two' meal deal at £15 ... two mains (Lamb Bhuna and Chicken Naga) and two side dishes (Bombay Aloo and Basmati Rice) and then add the Indian Style Starter Collection and a pack of 2 Garlic Nan Breads which gives a total price of £21.49 ... can't go wrong at that price for a Saturday night treat for two.
Those 3 words we love to hear..... "I've been shopping" 😁
Haha 👌
He don't do a big shop, he shops everyday! He is a machine!
If I hear the wife say that, I have a cold chill run down my spine.
Marks and spencers sell lovely food
So nice for a treat
Best wishes gareth 👍
Thanks Kizzy 👍
M&S ready meals have been consistently fantastic for decades, I worked at one of their food halls in my teens in 2002-04. The portions are bigger than you first expect and so worth the price imo.
The butter chicken and korma are good too. My favourites (current worker). 😋👍🏼
@@mclovin6039 i just literally commented that too lol their butter chicken is so rich and full of flavour
Great video Gareth , M&S do great quality food . Regards mark
Thanks Mark
Very good Gareth i have tried the jalfrezi and the Lamb rogan its definitely for one but don't mind paying for decent quality. Thanks Gareth..
You're welcome 😊
I buy the Italian range 3 for£9 all good and lots of choice👍🥳
used to be 3 for £7. Have to admit you will not better the M&S Italian meals. Aldi are knocking a lasagne out at £2.50 and it's hunt the soya when you peel back the layers, terrible rip off quality compared to Marks
Ok now I want some curry, will make some for dinner tonight 🇨🇦
Love the food from M&S little bit more expensive but worth 👌
Agreed it’s expensive but you’re guaranteed to get good quality food
Yep good quality food I just ordered my Christmas dinner on there food to order gone for the leg lamb with red wine gravy and salted caramel tiramisu cheescake you pay 50.00 deposit pick it up on 23rd dec with veg selection all prept and goose fat roast potatoes no prepping required just pop in oven it’s easy worth it easier Christmas Day 😊

Love this curry,my favourite. Thanks for supporting Marks and Spencer for a change.
Will definitely be giving that a try….nice one mate 👍
Thank you for your service Gareth! Great video as always
My pleasure!

At that price it'd be a treat but it looked delicious. Thanks for another honest review 💜💜💜
Cheers Barbie
Very nice one of my favourites chicken madras nice with Nan bread
So nice
Best curries that are close to takeaway ones with so much flavour and huge chunks of meat 👌
I'll try that next time I'm in M&S love their Roti breads two for a pound flame baked taste, great review, you're looking well mate.
Another great food review as always, best food review channel on youtube, have a good one dude.
Thank you so much for your service 🌹
@@jennymostert4030 you're welcome
Serves 2 haha really looks great
200 grams each is a joke
Two very little people.
Love a curry.. and the amount of chicken in that one lloked awesome. Yummy..
I knew when you said I have been shopping at m&s you would enjoy it.
Good food m&s. 😋👍
It looks delicious, and even the price is comparable to a takeaway and plenty of chicken. Will definitely try this. Great review, Gareth . Doing OK, mate.
No, a takeaway chicken madras is costing between £10-£12.
Cheers Martin
Looks nice and tasty . Thanks for review 🎉🎉😊
Great review again Gareth mate. I do like to pop into Markies now and then, yes a little bit more but all very good
Thanks 👍
I love the whole M&S curry range , my wife works there so it's easy to pop in . Great review Gar . Try the vindaloo not hot but lovely .
Thanks for the tip!

Looks very tasty mate not for 2 though 😂😂
Never is, never has been.
Yep. Indian here, that's how we serve 1 portion with rice and raita on the side
Will have to try that. Curry is my favourite food. Cheers, Gareth.

Wait till yellow reduced label then buy.
Nah couldn't care less where the chicken grew up, as long as it's cheap.
I get this regularly and just eat it out the tub with a large naan bread to mop up the sauce. It's pricey but you know it's good and it's the best chicken I've had in 1 of these preprepared supermarket curries.

It’s wonderful had a balti the other day unfortunately the prices stopped me getting any rice. I just have to make do it a slice of bread.
Nice review - I have had this several times myself and love it. But I think it's just the old version in new packaging. And been creased in price by £1.00.
Looks yummy 👍Spoken like a true northerner when you said about wiping inside the container with a naan bread to mop up all the juices🫓
Haha yes
Great review many thanks.
My pleasure!
Something I would buy by your reaction.
My favourite chicken madras cheers buddy will try that great vlog buddy..
Thanks Peter, all the best.
more chicken in that than my local take away :O
Great review Gaz and definitely quite a bit of chicken but the same old story the price and the wording on the package that says M&S 👍👍
Thanks mate

The best chilled ready meal Madras out there. It beats all other supermarket brands in my view. It's been around for years but they updated the packaging recently so it looks very new.
I love their curry dishes. Pay a bit extra, and what a difference. Not my weekly shop but pick up bits, and curry is one my favourites.

Fun fact only the co-op and M&S use British meats in ALL own brand food. That’s including all the way down to sandwiches in meal deals and snacks etc.
Nice one 👍

Yes they are great arnt they.
for what you're getting, it really is value for money. this with some of their other Indian dishes & a bag each of Tildas rice..
Hope the hair growth is going well 👍Love ya buddy.

Good job they didn't put Tom Kerridges name on it or it would be £9.50 😂😂😂
