Vance and Hines Grenades are about as brash and bold a design as one could hope to find. These look like a full-blown custom exhaust, and sound like the end of times. I ahve these on my softail slim s, the sound clip in this vid does it no justice its the loudest, best pipe I have ever had on ANY bike.....hands down.........get a set now!!! u wont be dissappointed.
Willl they work well with the quiet baffle and no change to airbox on stock 2016 XL Roadster? ECU would not need remapping. However, if I went with a performance air cleaner, then I would remap ECU. I would change out quiet baffle if I upgraded the cams. I like the look, sound, fit of the grenades. Any thoughts?

So i just checked on Vance& Hines Website, they recommend some sort of clam they designed so that REAR PASSENGER FOOTPEG can Fit..!! Is it necessary to pick that along with exhaust?

Hey guys. I have a stage one xl1200. Running baffleless straight through drag pipes. I’m hoping to change to mini grenades purely being the drag pipes are ridiculously loud even more so high revs 2nd gear etc. making me not want to go through the gears due to noise. I have bad hearing. Are the Grenades honestly that loud? I’m hoping not. Cheers

Do you guys think it’ll fit on 1200 Roadster 2020?
Hey guys great video! But Ive been having a huge issue with the top muffler on my 48. Not once but twice the two bolts that hold the muffler became loose while riding and the muffler completely fell off! Vance and hines replaced the first one but do you think they can replace the second one? I bought the pipes from revzilla. I feel that there is too much vibration that ends up at the top portion of the bracket. What do you think I need to do? I kinda just want to buy the muffler but the muffler itself is almost 350$. kinda of a headache!

I wanna import these grenade exhaust from US to India, i understand HD local dealers say to its customers that aftermarket exhausts when installed on the bikes, warranty is void.

Yes, you might decrease torque a little bit with these, but it probably won't be overly noticeable. With a 110, you'll still have tons of torque. -DrewZilla

All three are about the same for loudness, but all three sound a little different. The Grenades have a slightly lower sound, while the Shortshots and Big Radius have a higher sound. I don't understand your final question though. Are you asking which sounds the most like the stock exhaust on an 883 Sportster? None of them sounds like the stock exhaust, but all of the exhausts are made for the 883 motor. -DrewZilla
I noticed that there was some white smoke out from the exhaust when the rider revs i found that similar thing in my Ho-output grenades, any idea why & what is the thing, if there is any solution? I have recently fit the pipes & I have a full setup tuner & filter (heavy breather) if it fuel that's coming out ?

So not recommended for a slow cruiser? I ride a 2017 883, stock engine with Roland Sands Turbine Air Cleaner and FP3 Fuelpak.
These would be fine for you, and since you already have an FP3, you can easily change the fuel tune. -DrewZilla

+Marcos Mesa Because of the short and freer-flowing design, you'll want a an appropriate fuel controller, so that you can tune the bike with the new exhaust. If you have an Apple or Android phone/tablet, I recommend the Vance & Hines FuelPak3 Tuner, as it's one of the easiest tuners to use. The FuelPak3 for your model year Sportster won't be available until early June though. I think it's worth the wait though. You'll also want to get some exhaust gaskets. -DrewZilla

I just discovered these pipes yesterday, I was blown away by the sound! I have short shots on my 2007 Dyna Street Bob, the short shots are hands down the best sounding pipes I have ever heard in my life, especially on the older Dynas. These grenades are really close, I watched two videos side by side on UA-cam and the sound from Grenades is close to the short shots except that the grenades cut out all the high sounds and give you only low sounds. Not sure if I like them better or not, both have a unique sound. I'd say on a Sportster with the smaller engine the grenades sound way better than the short shots and any other pipes I've heard, but I'd say they are pretty much a tie on the old Dynas. I wish they would come out with a video showing a specific bike and how it sounds with all the after market mufflers available, that would help you to decide which ones you want. Also, I don't tune them on my bike, I like the sputtering and flames popping out when I decelerate, like I'm choking a demon from hell LOL.
Can I remove the baffles or packing from the grenades?

What is the height difference in the exhaust side passenger peg compared to the other side while using V&H passenger peg relocation?
The right side passenger peg ends up being about 3-4 inches up and 3-4 inches farther out. Also note that the relocation bracket is only available for some Dynas and Softails. It isn't available for Sportsters. -DrewZilla

We haven't had any complaints, but that's probably because people understand that it's going to be a bit off. People who ride with passengers a lot probably won't get these pipes. -DrewZilla
difference between hi output grenades vs normal grenades?
The Normal Grenades are the Hi-Output Grenades. Are you comparing the Mini Grenades? The Mini-Grenades just have smaller slip-ons and more traditional pipe routing. The Minis have a slightly higher pitch, while the Hi-Output Grenades can flow more air for more potential power gain. -DrewZilla

You can either get it dyno'd or just use a fuel controller like the Vance & Hines Fuelpak FP3, but yes, you'll need to adjust the air/fuel ratio after installing the exhaust. -DrewZilla

They sure sound great and distinctive but I don't really like how they look, but then again I've seen worse.
WORTH MENTIONING: Maybe for a racing bike, bought a used 2014 Dyna with the Vance & Hines Grenade exhausts. Silly me, brand new bike 1,500 miles, should have checked closer for the passenger peg !@#$%^&* Oh well, I guess I can buy one for $139.00 extra, and the reviews pretty much indicate it's not a good product (not to mention 2" forward of stock) great for those of you with girlfriends with the right leg 2" longer! Oh, and for an additional $139.00 What a bunch of crap from a formerly reputable company Vance & Hines BOOOOOOO!!!! Half-Baked design, they should be embarrassed.
