I changed my mind about this like 3 times in the past week lol. I was gonna go with Kyrian because of the damage of Pelagos, but it got nerfed. I've always been thinking about Venthyr cause I think mindgames is pretty cool, but now I'm between night fae (cause the voidform cd with the fae guardians) and venthyr, since I have a priest on each faction probably gonna go with both.
The only 2 that seem worthwhile are Venthyr and Kyrian. Necrolord is deceptively bad. The heal from it can only trigger once a second, so it does close to nothing, and the damage scaling is low because of square root scaling. It also costs a TON of Mana for what it does. Fae Guardians give no direct healing increase whatsoever, and the DR only affects one person so it's meh, and just using it can actually be a DPS Loss for Shadow, sadly it's pretty horrible. Venthyr does decent damage, and the heal is actually pretty significant. It also has fantastic Soulbinds, and the Mana it gives makes up for its Mana Cost and more. It's competitive with Kyrian even for Holy (When considering soulbinds), which is surprising. Kyrian is the go to pick for a healer. Boon costs no mana, Soulbinds are good, it's passive DPS (Holy craves this) and it's fun. Venthyr gives an insane amount of mobility (Especially with the General Draven), Kyrian gives another Healing CD and the Phial (Curse/Poison removal is tempting)
@@Orgrimmar21 Unholy Nova: An explosion of dark energy infects enemies within 15 yds with Unholy Transfusion, and heals allies for up to (150% of Spell power) based on number of targets. Unholy Transfusion: (The debuff that "infects" the enemy) Deals up to (280% of Spell power) Shadow damage based on number of targets over 15 sec. Allies who damage this target are healed for [(4% of Spell power) * 1]. The damage it does is affected by the new Square Root Scaling, so it does less damage per mob the more it hits. So its damage scales poorly, and it also means that you get less Atonement healing if you hit more than 1 target. The initial Heal is also affected by Square Root Scaling, so it also does less the more targets it heals. It costs 5% of base Mana, (Prayer of Healing is 4.5%, for reference), Heals for slightly more, and some okay damage. Overall mediocre, until you read "Allies who damage this target are healed for [(4% of Spell power) * 1]" and think of 20 Allies all pounding into a group of enemies and getting 4% of spell power per hit! Except the debuff can only proc Once per second, not Once per player hitting it. So even if you hit 10 mobs then it adds a whole 40% of spell power of healing every second.... In Raid you'll hit 1-3, so the Transfusion damage is going to average out to less than a single Flash Heals worth of extra healing over the entire 15 second duration. Basically it's equivalent to Divine Star with 4x longer cooldown, that costs twice as much mana. When they first introduced it it healed on every hit from any ally and was doing an insane amount of healing (like 50x what it currently does), it got nerfed within a day or 2. Sorry for the long explanation, but it's like I said, it looks good until you really dig into its mechanics and the actual numbers and then it looks really terrible. Plus Necrolord soulbinds were already pretty mediocre and 2 were recently nerfed to make matters worse.
@@DeadKultureVulture Nice thanks for the explanation. Which covenant do you think suits better for holy priests, mostly for Raiding? I'm like between Kyrian Pelagos or Venthyr Draven
@@Orgrimmar21 They are extremely comparable from a numbers point of view, so it's a play what you want situation. Pelagos got nerfed really hard, so keep that in mind. I'm still up in the air, but here is my thinking... Kyrian: - Boon is a great, no mana cost, CD for Raid and M+. I won't complain about a 3rd Raid Healing CD and is hands down better than Venthyr's in both Raid and M+. - Phial is a self Curse/Poison/Bleed Dispel which is very nice to have access to. - Soulbinds are lackluster at best. Venthyr: - Mindgames isn't bad, it is Mana Positive and does a decent chunk of damage/healing, this is the coolest Cov Ability for PvP by far, but Boon is way better. - Door of Shadows is a teleport. There is a cast time which makes it worse, but it's a teleport...on a Priest, so it'll still be good even if it sucks for other classes. - Soulbinds are Better (this is why the two are overall comparable) - Draven gives crazy amounts of move speed - Theotar *might* be very strong, it depends on how his Shield all who helps/heals the player actually works. Do you want more Movement Options and the extra HPS to not be restricted to a 3 min CD? Venthyr. Do you want Bleeds/Curses/Poison removal and the extra HPS coming as one big cooldown? Kyrian. They are both great.
What's your favorite covenant and why?
I’m been leveling up my alts for the past few day cuz I haven’t decided yet?
Simple and to the point, great job!
Love ur videos man! They are very helpful. Love how they aren’t super long! Thanks bro!
Venthyr - also for the theme and aesthetics. Cloth transmog.
You're one of the lucky ones that has been able to make up their mind lol.

I'm back and forth also. Wonder if we'll see more same class alts this expansion than before, to cover the covenants if we have 2 favorites lol.
Damn i want to be venthyr, but unholy nova looks so powerfull
Decide after you've played through, that's what I'm going to have to do.
Venthyr or nightfae.... Having trouble deciding
Same boat here, I'm kind of glad that there's a struggle there. I think that's what Blizzard was going for.

I don't understand when you say the heal from unholy nova only trigger once a second. Could you explain it?
