I just loved that Storm had her Sailor Moon moment and literally willed herself a "new" look. You can tell those animators were just living their inner Sailor Moon dreams with that whole sequence. Absolutely love this show ❤
Storm’s regeneration with that music gave me chills. Let the writers of this show oversee the mutants in live action. This is what you get when people that really care about the material.
I feel so bad for Charles. He spends the episode talking about the X-Men like their his children, and him sensing that Gambit died is basically him sensing that one of his children perished. Its no wonder he wants to go there asap.
You have to remember this was the professors first time using his psychic powers since he “died”, and when he did, his vast connection to the universe and every mutant (heightened by his frequent use of cerebro over the years) was restored once more, and he felt all the tragedy from Genosha hit him hard. Shout out to Storm and her resurgence….and the restoration of not only her mutant powers, but her OG X-men debut uniform. People need to remember she’s also mystical in nature too, separate from her mutant abilities (her blue eyes, white hair, and her ability to alter her uniform and hairstyle signs of her magical affinities). Her sequence reminded me of Man of Steel, when Superman first flew…awesomely done!
It was pretty heartbreaking and horrifying to have Charles feeling “the massive disturbance in the Force” the Genosha Holocaust caused… especially Gambit’s death… calling them all his “Children of the Atom”. I’m still shook from last week… I just can’t believe Gambit is gone. He’s my favorite X-Man, right next to Wolverine. Seriously, if I ever got dropped into an X-Men Universe, I would want Gambit as my mentor to train me on how to use my mutant powers. Also, now we know that Mr. Sinister is involved/responsible for the Genosha Holocaust. It’s very possible that Magneto survived it. If he did, he will very likely hunt down Trask… but if he finds out about Sinister… there will be extreme hell to pay. Especially since Magneto really hates Sinister for what he did to him, Charles, the rest of the X-Men and the people of the Savage Land in Season 2 of X-Men: TAS.

It was great seeing Charles Xavier again. Class is in session baby lol. Storm ⛈️ is such a goddess. Omega Level Mutant detected. I love this freaking show. I loved the original series despite the limitations but 97 is peak awesomeness.

I really hope they don't go there for season 2. I hated the Onslaught story so much I quit reading the X Men. The only time I came back was when I found out Joss was going to be writing Astonishing X Men, he was bringing Kitty back, and the title was not going to be crossing over into any of the other X books. Once Joss and Cassaday finished their run, that was it for me.

Magneto is alive because he had ERG and LEECH with him....ERG is the mutant with "Guile" hairstyle with one eye-patch, he can absorb energy blast and channel it back through his eye with the eye-patch at will. I'm guessing, Erg stood up and absorb the Wild Sentinel beam blast and Leech masked everyone from detection by remove all or just Magneto's powers. cross fingers.

Crackpot theory: he wasn't the one who made Genosha happen, or even the one the x-men faced in episode 1. Sinister made clones of him, and had the clones do all the dirty work (since they can be controlled by Sinister). Think about the contrast between his appearance in episode 1 (which seemed a bit delusional/arrogant) vs this one (terrified, guilt ridden) which lines up more closely with where he was left off in X-Men TAS. And cloning is kinda Sinister's #1 party trick.

IIRC, Xavier had mentally linked himself with the X-Men in order to get reads on what happen to them. But he probably doesn't have the same link with Erik.
You may be right about Magneto and that is likely the outcome, but it could also be that he did die and that green blast that hit Charles (and turned him into a skeleton) was the same one that hit Magneto, representing his death. Either way we'll find out next week I suspect.
I agree with you and think there will be an Onslaught story line. Here's my question: Do you think it will be the 3 episode season finale ep 8-10? Maybe Onslaught happens because Magneto is seriously injured near death and deeply comatose. Xavier has to try and telepathically reach him and their mutual grief, guilt and rage cause the merging to happen. As I recall the original Onslaught saga took a while to unfold with Xavier slowly becoming corrupted over several issues. I might be wrong, haven't read that arc for a few years.

PURE SPECULATION, but I’m calling it… the Wolverine in Deadpool/Wolverine is the Animated Wolverine. What’s coming in the next few eps will lead into the film AND we’ll see Monica Rambeau show up before the Season Finale
The Leech theory doesn't track for me, because they were actively under assault so any lowering of Magneto's powers would have lowered the shield and blasted them even sooner before the Sentinel's scanners would detect an absence of mutants (assuming Leech's power even works by masking the X-gene rather than just muting its effect). That said, i DO think Magneto and some other mutants we saw "die" are still alive. With Sinister involved (tying it slightly into the Mutant Massacre in the comics), i think the overt and apparent genocide was also masking a mass abduction of mutants for experimentation. I really hope they don't do Onslaught, or if they do find a more satisfying way to pull it off than the disappointment of the comics... but then i felt the same way about Operation: Zero Tolerance and I've seen so many people online drooling for freaking Bastian to show up, so who the hell knows? I'd prefer Cassandra to either of them (and thought we might be getting her with the Shi'ar showing up in this episode, but alas the word "mummudrai" was never uttered!), but it really does seem like Sinister is taking her role in this (masterminding the destructuon of Genosha by coopting the DNA of a Trask to control the Wild Sentinels). Which will probably have more emotional resonance than suddenly introducing Xavier's evil twin when he's been absent for half thr season, lol!
I think with Moira on the council & Gambit gone, they're inching their way toward the Krakoa story, like the Genosha incident being the catalyst for the world's mutants to gather on Krakoa, and Gambit/Anyone else we lost will be revived by the 5. I'm going to be on the lookout for flowers in the finale.

You may be right about Magneto and that is likely the outcome, but it could also be that he did die and that green blast that hit Charles (and turned him into a skeleton) was the same one that hit Magneto, representing his death. Either way we'll find out next week I suspect.

I agree with you and think there will be an Onslaught story line. Here's my question: Do you think it will be the 3 episode season finale ep 8-10? Maybe Onslaught happens because Magneto is seriously injured near death and deeply comatose. Xavier has to try and telepathically reach him and their mutual grief, guilt and rage cause the merging to happen. As I recall the original Onslaught saga took a while to unfold with Xavier slowly becoming corrupted over several issues. I might be wrong, haven't read that arc for a few years.

The Leech theory doesn't track for me, because they were actively under assault so any lowering of Magneto's powers would have lowered the shield and blasted them even sooner before the Sentinel's scanners would detect an absence of mutants (assuming Leech's power even works by masking the X-gene rather than just muting its effect). That said, i DO think Magneto and some other mutants we saw "die" are still alive. With Sinister involved (tying it slightly into the Mutant Massacre in the comics), i think the overt and apparent genocide was also masking a mass abduction of mutants for experimentation.
I really hope they don't do Onslaught, or if they do find a more satisfying way to pull it off than the disappointment of the comics... but then i felt the same way about Operation: Zero Tolerance and I've seen so many people online drooling for freaking Bastian to show up, so who the hell knows? I'd prefer Cassandra to either of them (and thought we might be getting her with the Shi'ar showing up in this episode, but alas the word "mummudrai" was never uttered!), but it really does seem like Sinister is taking her role in this (masterminding the destructuon of Genosha by coopting the DNA of a Trask to control the Wild Sentinels). Which will probably have more emotional resonance than suddenly introducing Xavier's evil twin when he's been absent for half thr season, lol!
I think with Moira on the council & Gambit gone, they're inching their way toward the Krakoa story, like the Genosha incident being the catalyst for the world's mutants to gather on Krakoa, and Gambit/Anyone else we lost will be revived by the 5. I'm going to be on the lookout for flowers in the finale.
