As soon as I saw him, I was like “Oh cool, it’s The Watcher!!”. A few seconds later, I said “Wait, he only shows up when something major is going to happen! Oh no!”

Her niece died a few weeks before she recorded. She said mentioned on X how she poured that into this episode
Especially visually how she is actually touching him skin to skin. Oh my Lord. Visuals and dialogue absolutely amazing in these episodes
@@TonyTylerDraws That makes sense, the loss that comes through her voice is REAL, it's something very few actors ever achieve and that's because a sudden loss of someone close to you like that isn't an experience many people have. I didn't know that feeling until my father passed unexpectedly. That kind of emotion is hard to replicate and you don't fully know it until you experience it.

That moment, we all felt that
Leech power is to "cure" the mutations in a mutant body so Erik right there is weaken by Leech being in vecinty, close to him so Erik get beamed by the monstrosity santinel bcz sooner or later his magnetism power get weak bcz of Leech... amazing story telling and so good with all the interactions between characters in the whole series !

Facts. I like that his appearance wasn't made into a big deal considering he's already been around before if you watched the original. Those who know KNOW. Nothing should be a surprise anymore for fans. It's their world and we're just watching it... like The Watcher was... 😭

How on earth am I gonna recover from that ending?! Cried at 8am in the morning! The voice actors are extremely good especially Lenore Zann towards the end of the episode.... "I. CAN'T. FEEL. YOU!
She said "i CAN feel you". Which means Remi is totally dead
@mr.freeman5162 She says, "Can't." It's really poetic too since what she normally feels are people abilities, emotions, memories, energy.
But the first time, she does truly feel Remy, she feels none of that, nor the heartbeat she desperately yearned for.

That’s exactly how the Genosha massacre went down in the comics…they even mixed in the Morlock Massacre from years earlier in there…whoever wrote this is taking me and a lot of others on an emotional roller coaster! And notice as Rogue was holding Remy she was touching him skin to skin?. OMG!
She wanted to try and take him into herself instead of just letting him die.
Nah in the comics it was written like a fart in the breeze.
Here ? It's a fucking intense and personal moment for the characters involved...
Only Magneto can correctly reference Schindler's List.
This was one of the most intense and emotionally impactful episodes in my entire experience of television.
He is a holocaust survivor after all.
omg! I thought of Schindler's List too, and it gave me full body chills.
I caught that line and thought of the movie, too!
I just want to shout out Rogue's voice actress. What a performance! And that final line was devastating.
She said on twitter that she channelled her grief from losing her niece not long before she recorded that scene. And it showed. Absolutely gut wrenching

This episode had so many jaw dropping moments I couldn't believe.
From Jean and Wolverine kissing,to Cyclops snapping on the reporter,to the reveal of Madeline and Cyclops's psychic Affair,to seeing Nightcrawler and Dazzler,Rogue and Gambit breaking up,Rogue and Magneto's dance and finally that final attack by the sentinels.
This 1 episode surpassed the entire Fox Adaptation of the Xmen.

@@arc7375 the phoenix force in the comics is also an omegas level threat. There is no beyond omega level threat. Omega level threat ranges all the way from magneto to sentry to hulk to Phoenix to galactus and anything which is deemed too powerful to be not be prioritised.
If not for Leech, I think Magneto would have had the strength
@@TonyTylerDraws I agree that what likely happened was Leech 'turned off' Magneto's powers which would make him suddenly undetectable. His power is to do just that, so it makes sense he's the 'xfactor' that could make mutants invisible from Sentinel detection (pun intended)

Cable said "not again" before he disappeared, so how many times has he tried to warn Genosha or stop those events? I would be so happy if we get a Cable centric Groundhog day episode with Cable trying to change events.
Episode 7 is called "Bright Eyes" and it's almost assuredly going to be about Rogue, but it might be about Cable also. It's a signature phrase of hers, but applies very well to Cable, Gambit, and Scott.
Yep! Sounds like he has tried it many times before. Maybe saving some people. But not all. Or something else has stopped him from changing it.
I kinda hope they don't time fix it. Gambit can become Death, Magneto can survive because Leech depowered him enough for the sentinel not to feel him.
Man the first half of this episode was almost as insane as the second half! The X-men are so goddamn messy 😂 love how this show embraces that
The imagery of 9/11 with the framing of the PULSE massacre. A place where a group of marginalized people feel safe and secure enough to party and celebrate, obliterated by hateful violence.
This episode might be the best X-Men media ever made.

'92 was groundbreaking for its time. '97 has been adapted for society today, and presumably an older fanbase. I won't deride the older version while exalting this iteration. They are both excellent.

Well like the other comment said Xmen 92 was still groundbreaking for its time, so it should be judged as a 90s product similar to batman tas.
X-Men of the 90s was very constricted by being a kids show. They weren't allowed to use projectile weapons IIRC, Wolverine could only use claws on robots, no blood, no sexual stuff, and limited dark topics. They did the best they could under the circumstances imo, there were still mature storylines squeezed in.

X-Men 97 is SO GOOD! Their ability to adapt epic arcs from comics is out of this world! Let’s bring Carol back again! She’s got such a relevant story as an X-Man! The Binary arc with the team vs The Brood! With her joining. The Starjammers in the end. EPIC! Inferno, LifeDeath, Xtinciton, Fall of Genosha … all were and are very well adapted.. they CAN ABSOLUTELY adapt Kwannon and Betsy’s story arc too! Let’s do this!

This show has 5 episodes and already has made me love Xmen much more than movies or comics were able to.
In X-Men The Animated Series in the 90s, Cable went back in time and kidnapped Wolverine and managed to make an antidote to destroy a virus that Apocalypse made. Before destroying the virus, Cable said : “The names Cable, remember it, Apocalypse!” Coincidently, Cable's first appearance in X-Men the animated series was in Genosha when he first met Gambit who escaped from the Slave Island. Cable helped Gambit unlock his collar which allowed him to rescue Storm and Jubliee and the other mutants as well. And the new Cable is voiced by Chris Potter who voiced Gambit in the original Xmen Animated Series.

I think Leech canceled Magneto’s powers at the last second, thus removing the presence of an Omega-level threat. Leech is the comic version of Jimmy from X-Men: The Last Stand

This is such a good adaptation of E is for Extinction! Seeing the Genoshian genocide through the eyes of Magneto, Gambit & Rogue was a great choice.

That scene back in episode 1, where Madelyne Pryor was using cerebro to invade Gyrich's mind, was foreshadowing this episode. Listen for the music and cable's voice. Back in the original series Apocalypse explained that time and thought are a unity and that is why psychics can see into the future just like what Madelyne was accidentally seeing through Gyrich's mind b/c of his bigger plan with Trask.
The animation started in ep1 almost like the original, then they slowly put in more modern renderings. i love it

Interestingly, the dance with Rogue 'Happy Nation' is a song by the group ACE of Base. Ace? Not many reactors recognized it even though it's a 90s song.
Secondly, it got emotionally intense, yes. Disney knows the kids that watched the X-Men are not kids anymore. I teared up watching your reactions. I watched the episode myself and then wanted to see you all reacting to it. It didn't disappoint.
Someone also mentioned there's a glimpse of the watchers between fireworks before the chaos. Great episode!!!

To clarify Scott and Madeleine weren't having a full on affair for a month. They were just communicating telepathically, Scott was just checking in on her after what happened with Nathan. And how could he not, why wouldn't he? Scott married her and had a child with her he can't just go back to jean and act like the time he spent with Madeleine didn't happen. That kiss was one time thing, that was when it escalated.
fr people all clamoring abt him cheating and i am always a caller out of scum cheating men but like 😭 yes they don’t know when they swapped but they know that for at least the past nine months he was with THAT one and she had his baby and everything and they just expect him to be like “well bye other you bc you’re an identical clone i will now transfer all of these specific feelings to og jean with no issues” LIKE?

The confusion on Madelyn's face when she says "Sorry for what?" is heartbreaking. Even with her premonitions, she has no idea how bad it's going to get and how suddenly it's going to happen.
The most shocking and heartbreaking episode of tv since The Red Wedding in Game Of Thrones for me. When Magneto not only tried to comfort Leech but did so in his native Polish language, knife to the heart. Then they twist the knife with the last line “I can’t feel you”!😭😭😭😭😭

@thedarkknight2221 Magneto is actually German, but a lot of people mistake him for being Polish. In the comics, it shows that his family lived in Nuremburg before being taken to Auschwitz, which is located in Poland. Which might be why people think that he is Polish instead of German
@@thedarkknight2221 like alyanegreymane07 already pointed out, Magneto's family was murdered in Auschwitz, which is in today's Poland, but he is actually a German jew. His Name "Max Eisenhart" and even his alias "Erik Lensherr" are a testimony to that as well.
This is how you make good television. Just incredible. To make a cartoon has such a heavy feel and emotional aspect is master writing. This and What If are how Marvel needs to work their live action films as well. Just unreal
