    Shopping List:
    Outdoor-rated television
    Outdoor-rated television bracket
    Tools:
    Hammer drill (if applicable)
    Hammer
    Open-end wrench
    Driver
    Wrench
Steps: (Depending on where homeowner chooses to mount the television, steps may vary)
    1. Use a level to make sure the bracket is level, and then make your marks for drilling.
    2. Drill holes for the mounting bracket.
    3. Pound plastic anchors into drilled-out holes using a hammer.
    4. Mount the bracket by using lag bolts and an open-end wrench to secure the bolts.
    5. Depending on your current setup, you may have to run HDMI cable from indoor components.
    6. Insert and secure the housing for the HDMI cable using screws and a driver.
    7. Clip the provided bracket clips onto the television.
    8. Hook the television bracket clip onto the mounted wall bracket and secure with the nut and bolt. Tighten with a wrench.
    9. If applicable, you can use an IR repeater to obtain signal from your indoor television setup. The IR repeater is placed on top of the outdoor HDMI cable. Plug it into the HDMI port. Then, mount the repeater somewhere on television.

We used the ZeboZAP to strap on our 55 inch tv on our patio post. It can rotate 360 degrees.

I would have like to have seen how the cables pass through that water tight compartment on the back which covers the ports. That in-line IR repeater is cool, but not necessary. As long as the TV and source device is compatible with HDMI-CEC (consumer electronic control,) the TV's remote can already control other devices. HDMI-CEC has been around for a long time, and was part of the original HDMI 1.0 spec. Since then, lots of other features and commands have been added to newer revisions of the HDMI specification.

Did he just anchor to the stone siding?? Those are only held on with construction adhesive and will fall right off. And even if he went into the sheething, that is only 15/32 OSB at best.

These tvs (not including bracket, cables, installation) still range from $1500-$8,600 with most towards the higher end so roughly 10+ times the amount of an indoor tv. I can't imagine what they cost when this was installed. I've watched this clip several times over the years and got to wondering how it's held up. They can weatherproof all they want but between the effects of the sun, expansion and contraction with temperature, ANY water getting in, thieves and the bored neighbor kid with a BB gun these are still definitely for rich people. Electronics don't do well in the elements. I'll still inconvenience myself to take the 2 minutes to pop it on it's quick release mount and put it inside when not in use and spend the thousands saved on beer.

I've had an indoor TV mounted in my backyard for about 2 years. It's held up great. It's under an awning so it doesn't get wet, but we watch every super bowl and world series in our backyard with our couches and BBQ.

So if you ever want to get rid of this setup in a few years when it’s obsolete, you just have to re-rock the entire wall to repair the damage. Seems sensible.

Surprised they don't have a composite made frame for this application that would be truly rust proof. I'm not so sure that "stainless steel" gear would survive for years in damp conditions.

That's... actually pretty smart. I'd be bothered about not being able to close the window/door when the TV is out. Bugs and all. Well I'm sure there's a solution to that too, maybe a partial seal-like board attached to the mount at the right angle and length. Good thinking!

I recently bought a speaker for my shower, it was called water-proof
Learn from my mistake, Water proof only means stuff like, if the shower head hit it. that hose? might not be considered water proof, especially if its a continuous stream and not a shower.
Also, If something is submerged in water, that is not counted against "Water proof".
So, be careful puting this above a pool, you won't get your money back if it fries out.
submerssion-proof is a whole another thing.

The door covering the inputs on the TV is worthless without being able to close it when the HDMI is connected.
