    We were blessed with a load from Arm & Hammer a while back and they gave Trucker a case of baking soda. It sure comes in handy and as long as stays dry it lasts forever. Today was a major overhaul on groceries. Unfortunately my son in law wasn't paid and with four kids to feed that really puts a dent in their budget. I had to go out for an appt today out of my normal area so we stopped at Sams and did a huge two cart load. I stocked up on more meats which for me stretches a lot. My daughter loaded up on her items and they are set for about a month. One thing I noticed at this one that we don't shop at hardly ever is that they carry 50lb bags of rice. I loaded it for her due to weight restrictions for her. We did stop prior at the DT and at DG and found some good bargains there as well. I am hoping that this helps them out to get caught up after no paycheck this week. They should be set for longer than a month. I usually try to watch your haul before I go, but since this trip wasn't exactly planned I do have to finish up tomorrow with my water and non food items. I hope I remember to grab a couple of those big shells for my shelves here. Great video.

    Hi Jinne , just popped on here to say i keep those parmesan containers to put my dried herbs in after i harvest them to have for Winter! Parsley Basil Thyme,Rosemary and Sage. And or make my own herb mixtures up like Italian seasoning, Taco seasoning, etc. I love your channel ,Ive learned a lot from you! Everyone says Beans and Rice, but since my tongue cancer theres a lot i still cant eat, and unfortunately rice is one thing I choke on, I want to try cauliflower rice to see if i can eat that! I keep trying to eat different foods every day and am progressing very slowly! Take care!

    The mixed beans are fantastic, they have various flavors, if you toss in ham bone or bacon Wala, super good for large meals, freeze the leftovers and you have some for later. Small shells are great with Italian dressing and some diced veggies. Nonfat dry milk is nice to mix into pouches with cocoa for on the road hot chocolate. Sweetened condensed milk is a great way to make Carmel for drizzles on everything. B&M brown bread is magnificent but can't find it here in the south. I would have to order it and it is way too expensive. The cheese lid is a wonderful thing for so many reasons. I use them in the garden also. I didn't know that baking powder goes bad pretty quickly. Thanks for sharing your haul and may the force be with you :) ML&BLSNGS to you and all of yours. Don't forget the four-legged kids :)

    • @FreezeDriedIceCreamPrepper
      @FreezeDriedIceCreamPrepper Рік тому +6

      I recently learned on another prepping channel that it's not always best to freeze rice....which I've always done!
      If you are planning to put your rice in mylar for long term storage, it can be REALLY sketchy to freeze it first. You need to open the bag afterwards and let it dry out for a week or two after freezing to make sure it's bone dry before sealing in mylar. So much condensation happens with freezing and then thawing, it's super easy to miss even a little bit of moisture that will rot and destroy your rice
      If you aren't prepared for that extensive drying time, just mylar it immediately and don't worry about it. 30 years from now during the zombie apocalypse, we might even appreciate the extra protein from the weavles 😅

    Keep stacking as much as you can with the best prices you can find. We have 2 extra full size stand up freezers in our garage. One we use to put our rice, pastas, flour, grains, wheat bran and beans in to kill off any weavil eggs. Then we repackage them. When we arent freezing off those bags, i put our freezer meal trays in there stacked and ready to go. Easy meals for us. Already made. Just heat and eat. The other freezer is for all the meat we buy in bulk when it's on sale. We have 2 regular fridges in the house, but the freezer space is inadequate for buying bulk sale items. We bought the freezers, floor models with dents on the side of them. Paid $200.00 for each 4 years ago. So grateful we did that. When the temps start to get cooler everyday, I will be canning meats to empty some of it from the freezer to make room for more sales.

    The jumbo shells are difficult to find by me. I recently did see them and picked up two for the holidays as well as ziti and cheesei. Also picked up baking goods for the same reason. If we get snowed in at least I know I can prepare things without worry.

      @@Midwestmomvolunteer365 and when I found them, they were over 4.50 a box. That’s why it’s holiday food. I hope you’ll find them and at a better price

    Toast slices of B&M bread and spread with peanut butter for a high-protein snack or for a quick breakfast. Mix some of that powdered milk with water and use as a beverage to go with the toast and peanut butter to add some calcium, Vitamin D and a little more protein to that meal. This could even be a grid-down meal if you "toast" the sliced bread in a skillet on a camp stove.

    First of all, I love your channel and I was one of your first scribers. Now- I want you to tell your subs how long it takes you to use the 40lbs of rice. And I would like to see some cooking with these "pantry supplies". Best wishes from a fellow Mainer..

    Jinne, looking in the Laundry Isle for Baking Soda, they have the Bags of Baking Soda. It is a 13.5 lb Bag. But I make Laundry Soap, lol.
    I package what I don't use like you do the Flour and Such or just put it a Mason Jar with a Lid. It does last a long time
