- My first blade from RMJ Tactical in Chattanooga, and likely not the last, considering the extremely fine level of detail, execution, and materials! Perfect in every way! In the style of the Japanese Kwaiken, the slightly upswept blade can perform daily chores as well as act as a tactical back-up.

I love mine! I have xl hands but this one seems to stick in any grip. Absolutely comfortable carry and never leaves my belt despite a literal pile of choices

Got several RMJ items, they are all excellent. Their edges are sharp, with great symmetry. The Jenny Wrens I own have excellent G-10 scales, machining on them looks awesome, and is balanced between grip and smoothness. They have, historically, been very thorough with their heat treatment, differential treatment of edges vs handle.

Good review. EDC small knife fits into pocket, mandatory guard, removable from sheath with one hand, and light weight. I took everything off of the sheath, so it fits into my pocket fine. Because the knife fits too tight for 1 hand removal, I wrapped he blade with a single sheet of paper with tape and left it 24hrs. This loosened it. Mine is Nitro-V and came sharp, but I put my edge on it up to 8000 Grit.
The handle is small, but still allows a good grip, because of the guard is so well done.

Interesting! I've done reviews on at least three fixed blades lately that have been referenced as steak knives by viewers! 😂🗡️👌 Perhaps it's one of the most useful profiles? Think it is a very useful profile. When I was looking at the steak knives quickly drifted to how some of them would be actually good users. The Dalstrong shadow black steak knives (had to go back and look) have a similar profile to these and caught my eye when I was looking. Of course steel quality and sheaths are not there but it is what us knife folks do I guess. Thanks Dave and gave a great 4th.

This is a grail fixed blade for me and I finally got it today. I’ve been following RMJ for years and this is the model I settled on. It is an incredibly nice blade. I’m looking forward to carrying it everywhere. Old sword what clip and how would you carry this ideally? Thank you!

Cool knife. Love trailing point. RMJ has been a little out my price range for there direct made stuff. CRKT produced is a more reasonable but you lose the value premium materials. Over all not bad for a MagnaCut blade but not quite as good a value as DP’s work. Thanks for sharing!

Really only a vague resemblance, since the Unmei has Japanese design roots is in Magnacut at 63HRC and is partially produced by hand. But it's the buyer's choice as to the value in any given product for sure. 👍🗡️
