- In this video I fly one of my favourite planes in War Thunder. The HS 129 armed with a 75mm cannon.
Probably one of the worst airframes in the game and with the added weight to make it even worse... this combination is usually a recipe for disaster. However, something with the duck just WORKS!
The Duck in War Thunder is up there with the most fun things you can play in the entire game. So, today... we take it to 5.7 to hunt down the infamous Jumbo! :)

sry i just saw i had to update 15 gigs to 45 jigawitts and that not possible at the moment,so i deleted War Thunder from steam.Still have CrossOut for some Gajin cancer tho.
I understand this is what odd does for a living, but some of the stuff he does is still just top tier impressive.

Tunguska is my best AA, most people don't even know IRST exists. So probably not that hard.
I can't see how a slow Duck would survive ANY radar SPAA?

Lesson learned:
The mosquito, which is a plane mostly made of wood, takes 3 75mm shells to take down.
Goddamn the trees over in england are made of strong stuff...
Counterpoint wood does not spall and it’s got nowhere near enough armor to fuze aphe so he is effectively just shooting golf ball sized holes though a canvas tarp depending on where you hit if you don’t land a shot on critical components

I love when Odd brings a whole lineup and shows every vehicle he played
Besides being funny, he also shows a lot of the strategy thinking in how to play the game well.

Would love to see you give some love to the Duck’s little brother the 50mm on the Me410. Doesn’t get the same love as the 75mm but it’s still an impressive gun. I recommend default belts so you have HE for open tips and APHE for armor. You even get rear guns for defense.
Using default belts for the 50mm is not very smart, half of the sells are useless/suboptimal for whatever you are shooting at. You should use the armoured targets belt with APHE on the 50mm, against open tops 2 mg151s are enough.
@@LaminarTurbulence While you're not wrong that half the shells are not effective all the time, I would argue that defaults are still the best to use. Firstly, it keeps the SP cost of the plane lower by a decent bit. Second, while the 20mm guns are effective against open tops, the 50mm HE will one shot them, regardless of where you hit them. This means that you can line up a shot and fire and break away immediately against things like SPAA. They won't get a good opportunity to zero in on you whereas the 20ms give them that chance. The reload is short, and you get 22 or 24 shots, meaning wasting one to swap ammo types isn't a huge deal. You're not likely to use all 22 or so shots anyway, not without taking heavy damage or being taken out, so the versatility helps. Also preserves your 20mm ammo for aircraft.
@@chaoslink1158 So I will not live long enough to use 22 50mm APHE shells but I should save the 700 rounds of 20mm ammo the 410 has for enemy planes? Sure.
In my experience mg151s are perfectly capable of swiftly dealing with open tops, I feel no need to use 50mm HE rounds against them.
@@LaminarTurbulence So lets pose another situation to you. You're flying low to avoid enemy SPAA tracking you. You arrive over the battlefield to do a run and there's an M10 in front of you. You'll get only one shot with the 50mm, but dodging trees and the like make it a weird angle and accuracy isn't something you can hope for. With the APHE you might kill it. Maybe. Might just hit the engine, kill the turret crew, maybe just the driver. Your 20mms aren't going to do much because you don't have long to shoot nor the angle to shoot into the open turret. You know what will kill it? HE. Anywhere. Don't necessarily even have to hit it.
I'm willing to agree to disagree here. Reality is, the HE in the APHE round isn't great on that one. It doesn't always get that one shot the 75mm on the duck gets. But that HE can prove useful and again, the default belts take no SP to spawn. Get shot down? You have that much more SP to bring in another plane or whatever to the field. The HE is still plenty useful in many scenarios and I feel is very justifiable to take with you.
Hi Odd I really started watching your videos heavily during Phly’s exodus lol, but now I just enjoy having another great CC to watch along with Spookston and Phly! More Quack Bang is always a go !🦆💥I suggest using the duck and trying to take out well known tanks at different BR’s above 5.7 all the way to top tier ! Cheers man !

He is very good, but anyone with enough practice can learn the ballistics of certain rounds and be accurate, although its a bit of luck as well

I’ve been taking out the American duck recently, up to 5.7-6.3. The XA-38 Grizzly. So much fun!

Honestly I think the duck is so good I just regularly bring it into these brs even though you are easily picked off by anti-air lol. It's just such a satisfying vehicle to use even if mobility can leave you wanting.

I love it more!!! Take it into 9.7 actually since it ever came out I never taken it out of my line out. It truly is the best AT plane. When diving using the scope sight for better shots.

Best game I've seen on that last map. The videos are way better when you go out and have fun.
Love this thing so much. Still play it at 6.7 and (as long as there aren’t too many planes up) to great effect. If I ever bother to grind past the maus id probably still use it at top tier it’s so good.
if you use air target belt for the big gun, the duck can 1 shot boats in naval but good luck doing it from a distance where they might shoot back

Hey OddBawZ, Love your content to the point it is making me give WT another try. I could never get into the game due to, in my opinion, a hard barrier to entry. Just wanted to know if you could give some tips or advice for new players trying to learn the game. I know a lot of stuff will come in due time with just playing the game but some things, if taught/shown by someone who already knows what they are doing, will help the new player(me) out and avoid a lot of frustration. Either way keep up the vids, they are always fun and entertaining to watch.

3.7 - 5.7 is where the fun is. I been working on the French tree and up to the 5's now. The B1 ter was fun, sucks the m4's dont have .50's and loving the EBR. I still think the M4A5 in USA is my favourite tank.
I love how this airplane has some of the cockpit gauges outside the cockpit, way out on the engine for the pilot to look at through the window!
It's because the cockpit is so incredibly damn cramped inside

On the PaK Puma having a similar gun: It very simply IS THE SAME GUN. The BK 7.5 is a modified PaK40 to be lighter and have an auto loader.

This is my favorite BR for Germany tbh and the PAK Puma is such a beautiful machine. Im starting to use the Duck pretty regularly as well and can confirm, its cannon is NASTY

I flew this thing till 7.3. It was tricky to use it effectively, but 1 or 2 kills at that br is good enough for me.

109 F4 has always been my favourite. But not as much as a CAS. I used it for that too but mainly in air RB, F4 is just superior at 4.0
I know it is much to ask for you to play Germany low BR back to back. But what I would love to see you play is Church and F-4 with 15mm canons combo. It simply shreads!
