I really liked the way maami referred subbus kitchen for English recipe and measurements. Wow.. I was reminded of how Maha periyavaa used to refer to thapovanam gnananda swamigal when bakthargal comes to see his holiness. And vice versa. All these qualities belong to andhakaalathu manusha..
I tried this receipe now. We had with Mami's Arisi Upma. Super yummy taste. Morkozhambu is so easy and tasty. Loved it. Arisi upma with this kozhambu tasted really good. Thamk you Mami and Ganesh Anna.
Auntie I make this morkuzhu with cauliflower florets;I add coriander seeds too.It goes really well with adai.I will try this with vaththal next time.Thank you
Thank you so so much. I have been searching for this for a while now. In Trishur at our tharavad, this is called erupuli. The only add on is a pinch of mustard seeds which is also ground along with it. It was always the last resort when the kozhambu cooked in the afternoon was over as the house was chockabloc most summer holidays. And the older people did not want to go through all the complications of cooking all over again. So it was this, chutta or kachiya pappadam and maybe a vendakya upperi as they call it. It would be great Ma if you also did one video with what goes with what - as you mentioned just now! Thank you once again.
Different type of morkuzhumbu...thank u maami...yengaathula morkuzhumbu yellarkum pidikum..but v use to prepare puliseri only..i will try this next time..😄😄😄
Ganesh anna sonna mathiri.. Sometimes I too add left over coconut chutney to morkuzhambu ... I Prepare instant morkuzhambu with grinding coconut, green chilli, ginger, pottukadalai with jeera. Almost same ingredients except jeera.. So I grind jeera with coconut adjusting salt and karam and left over chutney to buttermilk for morkuzhambu... 🤔😉
Ganesh . Now I agree you have extraordinarily culinary skills . This dish turned out exactly as you commented like chutney dissolved in buttermilk . I used it next day as gravy for poricha Kuzhambu and added some more spices to adjust . Maami - Mor Kuzhambhukku train aana naaku 16 feet didn’t accept this dish as mornkozhambu :-))) but I enjoyed watching this video as always .
As I watch your authentic recipes, I do realize that North Indian brahmins food culture is very similar to the South. This is very similar to the Kadi recipe that my mom makes with the exception of using gram flour instead of freshly roasted chana daal. We also add dried fenugreek leaves and curry leaves while boiling the yogurt and temper it with cloves, mustard and cumin.
