Awesome job! I agree Battletech miniatures do have a few minor issues like insufferable mold lines, that said, the new updated CGL mech redesigns are a vast improvement over the derpy sculpts from the 80s & 90s. I'm glad Battletech has made a comeback.
Nice Job! I'm a recent transplant to Battletech. I'm enjoying the new miniature quality compared to their 80s versions. Also the massive value compared to other game systems. Just curious, what size brushes do you find, work best, say for this video? I see your link for Rosemary Co. Thanks.
I pretty much exclusively use Rosemary and Co Series 33 Size 2 and 3 brushes. But bear in mind sizes aren't standardised. A rosemary 3 is probably like a 4 or 5 in Windsor and Newton, for example.
if you liked THIS color scheme have i got a EVEN BETTER one for you... Clan Golaith Scorpions delta galaxy, its not really shown on U.C.C. but they have an awesome description they paint their mechs to look like molten cracked lava have fun if you decide to try it out!
Do you have any suggestions for doing space wolves with vallejo paints? I'm interested in doing a Mr Shy "nice easy workup" rather than accurate to citadel. Cheers
For Vallejo, I'd probably start somewhere around Dark Sea Blue, and end at Wolf Grey. For the midtone, I'd probably mix, but you could find something straight out of the bottle in sure. Crucially though, when I paint space wolves, I also use brown glazes to tone the armour and make it look dirty. I think that helps a lot.
I just got myself the Timberwolf TC the only part I felt didn’t fit well was the ball and socket joints for the arms. Also not to be that guy but I think you got the arms on wrong like a mad dog if you look at the pic for the mech they are on the opposite sides lol.
Thanks Tony! It might surprise you to learn, my hands are actually pretty shaky. Being able to paint lines mostly comes from technique. Steady hands do make it easier though.
best is subjective - i wouldnt call this the best miniature in the CGL run so far, and i wouldnt call this variant of the timber wolf/mad cat list either
Dat Earth/Sky highlighting on the cockpit is lovely, awesome as usual Stu!

That looks sweet! Very inspiring as I work on my own BattleMechs.
Looks fantastic colours pop in the right spots.
Great mech however I will always adore the little urban mech
Yes! So excited to see more Battletech hobby content.
Awesome job on this one.
Battletech is AWSOME! We need more battletech uploads plz!
I prefer the Iron Wind Metals ones to the plastic - but I still have Ral Partha ones from the 80's in my collection ;-)

ooooo could you give Mechwarrior 5 Liao a go? I was about to start trying to do them and would love a reference!
Fantastic paint scheme! Glad to see you are still enjoying Battletech! Are you looking forward to the kickstarter launching in march?
One of the best battletech minis I've seen painted on UA-cam!
That's very kind of you to say, Lee. Cheers!
Beautiful! What a paint job! Is there a way to get my hands on these in the UK?
I had to get mine from a mate in the US. That's probably gonna be your best bet.

@That MrShy That's great, thanks for the response. I noticed Boyes sell vallejo now, good to know if you have one.
That's exactly who I often use! Have a Boyes about 15 mins away :D
Love this Stu ❤
Good to hear from you mate! Thanks ❤️

Nice job dude 👏
Very cool!
God, guns, and Battletech. Because Comstar like commets.
y no premium urbie? In all seriousness, that's an awesome paint job dude!
Oh if they make one you better believe I'll paint it!
Great combo on the scheme, nice choice. really jealous on how steady your hands are when doing intricate details....lol

Agreed. Tbh when I first saw the model I was super confused on what it was, haha.
I believe the laser barrels on the Timberwolf TC are supposed to be oriented vertically… you may have the arms on the wrong side…
Mad Cat? What is this dezgra freebirth talk?
God I'm so tired of seeing thumbnails with males' mouths hanging open
😮😮😮
First!
