    Personally I would have had the originally wheels refurbed and put them back in I think they are the most icon style for the vehicle.
    Loving the build so far can’t wait to see the finished product.

      Understand where you're coming from, but I wanted to put my own stamp on the RRC, this is a restomod not an original restoration. Maybe you'll change your mind when you see them on!

    This looks great!! :) Another vote for the original wheels.
    If you have the dashboard off (not sure how the Range Rover is) but might be worth to replace the heater radiator as a preventive measure. It's a five minute job with the RR as it is.. an a pain in the neck if you have to do it later.

    I sure do hope you use something like Fluid Film to keep the under body and the rest of the car rust free after this. SPRAY EVERYTHING! The smell will go away in about a month completely, and do that every year. Your ride will never rust after that. Even the small cubbyholes. As long as you get that stuff on the metal, it will keep it from rusting.

    I am a little worried we're about to see a white Range Rover Classic on gloss black wheels however 😦

      @@stevebooker Absolutely mate, your hard earned, your choices, your car. You've rescued one!
      I think the chaps are great with you too, and the vibe from the three of you is really enjoyable. There's no pretense from you pretending to know everything about your car and they're very encouraging. I can think of a few mechanics who'd laugh and sneer in that environment.

    The wheels are going to look too aggressive, especially in black, but the work is looking good. Red Polybushes are normally the sport spec, so the ride might be a bit harsh compared to normal. I think you were right in ordering the blue comfort spec, and it would have been worth having them send the correct ones, but they can be changed if you’re not happy with the result - at least they’ll be easier to swap than the originals.

    Great series and really enjoying the progress each time. If I were honest though, I was a bit disappointed in the choice of colour for the car. I think a light flat grey or dark grey/bronze metallic colour would have been spectacular - just my opinion... Either way, hope it turns out great! Looking forward to the next episode.

    Been loving the series! Always looking forward to it! I recently just bought a 2002 Land Rover Disco and wan to restore it just like how you are doing it with your car. Are you going to let us know at the end how much it cost to restore it? Also, hard to find a good reliable company here in San Diego, Cali that can work on Land rovers and know what they are doing lol. Took my car to a mechanic and ended up with more problems that I had to do than what I brought it in for. lol

    I've been enjoying this series. I think you're making a mistake with the wheels. I like that you've done away with the overriders on the rear bumper and you want it to be your own ideas but those steels, nah.
    Those 3 spokes are icons. Id have them pwdr coated black with a diamond cut rim.
    Its your car, but you're wrong on the wheels.😬

    • @stevebooker
      @stevebooker  3 роки тому +2

      Great thing about wheels is that you can change them 😉 I’ve never been a massive fan of the tri spoke alloys. If I was keeping that original look I would have gone down a rostyle route. Once you see the RRC finished, maybe you’ll change your mind...
