    All looking good, excepts for one issue. Your dampers are rubbish. They’ll do until the pistons rust through their painfully thin chrome and wreck the seals to the main body, causing leaks. So, the end of next winter... In all seriousness, you’ll only get a few years from them before they rust and leak, but at least Pro Comp are cheap. I can heartily recommend DeCarbon dampers on RRC - mine had them when I bought it, and fifteen years later they’re still in perfect working order. But replace the steering damper (the one running horizontally from front diff to steering track rod) with a genuine Armstrong or Woodhead damper - you shouldn’t use gas dampers on the steering as their internal pressure exerts a force on the steering system and you have to continually correct against it. It’s not a huge force, but it’s an unnecessary fault.
    As for the D pillars, I’m a bit of a purist on Range Rovers, but this still looks good. You are going to fit the raised lettering on the bonnet and lower tailgate, I hope - it looks empty without them. As for the lights, what are you planning? There are some subtle but effective LED headlamps that would be ideal, but a lot of ugly types that would spoil the refined classic look.

    Very good, they even mount an exhaust and a fake engine, I guess thats for originality and so they can hide the new electric power train and make it nearly invisible. Excellent job.

    You forgot to install the heat reflection plate above the center muffler part number NTC7196G. Make sure because without it, it can burn the insulation underneath the carpet.

    The idea of the black rear pillar is to create a "floating roof" which is one of the main design cues of the original Range Rover.

      It wasn’t a feature of the early suffixes - they had body colour on all the pillars, not just the D pillar.

    • @40022laconia
      @40022laconia 3 роки тому

      In a RR book they said that the early cars were body colour but because they were having trouble getting the 1/4 panels perfectly smooth they decided to cover them in black vinyl and do the other pillers in black which created the floating roof look.

    That Range Rover is a piece of art... so nice... I think I would try to put a set of Rostyle RRC steel rims with a nice set of BF Goodrich tyres... That'd be great IMO... Mine, '94 Soft Dash Tdi, has also bumpers old style without plastic end caps with the mud flaps... That Discovery is interesting, I saw like "rare" the only sunroof in the front instead two sunroofs, here where i live there is only or no sunroof versions or double sunroof versions... And looks like its one of the lasts Discovery 200 series, m/y '93, maybe it has the reinforced half shafts, 24 splines instead 10... Anyway, excited to see the Rangie moving by itself, and the next project!!

    Looks great Steve, love the painted rear pillar & the custom bumpers. Could you tell me where you got the waist seals for the doors / windows, I can’t find new replacement waist seals for a 4 door RRC anywhere on planet earth? (2 door yes, but not 4 door) Cheers

    Great stuff, Steve. I've gotten my 1995 RRC redone but can't find the rear lamp guards ANYWHERE except ebay and I'm leery of buying anything else from that site.
    Any suggestions?
