this is an abbreviated updated version of an old print-n-play rpg/strategy game, where you go up a wizards tower/descend into a dungeon, and just like the cards, its a different creature for each level, even all the dice mechanics are the same. Also, i think it is a cheat if you get to flip both cards before choosing, if so, who would ever face the monster instead of choosing the easy treasure? you should pick without flipping and let fate decide....
Ah interesting. Regarding flipping both cards - that's a fair point. Maybe an easy way to up the difficulty would be to do as you suggest and just flip one card when two are available.
I printed 2 copies of the 9 card game. I shuffle between rounds and randomly select the cards I’m going to use each round. I find it added a little extra drama, because the cards you want, or need might not be in that round.
My first board game purchase (retail version) when I re-discovered the hobby again earlier this year. Fantastic game and quick to table as well. Btw - love your videos and been devouring all your videos since I discovered your channel a few months ago.
Great video, as usual! I own the retail version + expansions and Mini Rogue is indeed an absolute joy to play (especially with the various characters and Lore Cards). However, this free 9-card version is also perfect for a quick dungeon delve. :) You may have been able to save this run by rerolling that final die with the miss result [1], by spending 1 XP or 2 HP. There is very little use for XP otherwise once you get to the third die. I tend to reroll with XP quite a lot when I am unlikely to reach the next die. In all, great run! Looking forward to more Mini Rogue on your channel.
Ah looks, I don't need more encouragement to buy more of this game 😉 truth be told, I'm really just waiting for restock after the Kickstarter delivers! Yeah - you're right, the run was totally save-able. Such a fun game!
@@lone_adventurer my FLGS (friendly local gaming store) had the whole thing (minus the 2 KS exclusives which weren’t a “big deal” except for the character sheet that could actually slot in the dice. If you’re interested I can see if they still have it.
@@lone_adventurer I thought I replied the other day but I guess I hadn't hit reply! Last time I was at my FLGS (Friendly Local Gaming Store) they had everything for the game except for the 2 tiny Kickstarter exclusive cards (which really weren't that big of a deal) plus the "3d" stat card that can slot the cubes. If you're interested I can go see if they still have it next time I'm there.
Yeah, I've got One Card Dungeon and I've printed and put it together. Played it a couple of times but then got distracted by something else, no doubt! I'll take another look at it soon.
Perfectly delightful play. "It's a cool little game."
Cheers!

That's a great idea!!
So close!! Great video. Already downloaded. ;)

I love Mini Rogue !! 👍
I found the Kickstarter all-in a few months ago… it’s awesome! The full version is much bigger!
Yeah I'm on the lookout for the full game with some expansions. Just gotta be a bit patient 🙂

*sigh* Commenting to feed the UA-cam algorithm, but also to add yet another one onto the ever-growing list of "Oooh that looks shiny, I want that!"
Yeah well this one you can get for free, so in a way, I've done you a favour 😛
The 9 card game is fun, but the full version is worth the money.
Yeah....honestly, if I could still get it with the main expansion, I reckon I'd have it already 😁
Since you do pnp quite frequently... have you picked up the pnp files for one card dungeon? It's worth checking out.
