From 1983 to 2015 Game Workshop had a fantasy game before 40,000 it's now called the Age of Sigmar, and there is another game called The Old World. Also (don't know you'll see that but anyway ...), when he talks about the different Space Marine, he talks about Space Marine chapters, only from the loyalist side. During the Horus Heresy (the Civil War), the Space Marine were grouped in Legions (18 legions) with thousands of spaces marines (for the biggest ones, it can go around 200 000, and that's a lot a big super soldiers). After the HH (Horus Heresy), the traitors (9 legions) flee into the Eye of Terror, and the loyalists (the 9 other legions) split their legions into chapters of only one thousand of Space Marines (by the Codex Astartes (kind of rules for the loyalists Space Marines))(for the chapters who respect the Codex of course) to prevent for treason (1k SM is easier to control than a legion of 100k). So he talks about Ultramarine, Imperial Fist, White Scars, Raven Guard, Salamanders, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Iron Hands and Space Wolves, who are the 9 loyalists legions (who became chapters after the Heresy), and about the chapter of Black Templars, who is an example of Successor Chapter (the result of the division of legions to chapters, the Successor Chapters are independant, but are based on the Genes of the Primarch from their Legions, the Black Templars is a Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists, so the Black Templars are based on the Genes of Rogal Dorn, the Primarch of the Imperial Fists, and so for all other successor Chapters). There are a lot of chapters that we don't know their origins, maybe loyalists, maybe traitors, maybe both, we don't know. The Deathwatch is a group formed from Spaces Marines of different chapters, that is specialized in killing Xenos basically, and doing specials operations in small groups or stuff like that. It is an honor for the chosen Space Marines, but also a kind of penitence if you are a Black Shields (you've done something wrong, you can be sent to the Black Shields where all your colours of your chapter are removed and you serve like that as a kind of no name). He don't talk about it in this video, but the traitors also kind of split their legios, but not in chapters, in warbands lead by a Champion, they do whatever they want, even if some Legions are still organized (like Iron Warriors, Death Guard or Black Legion). So the warbands is the equivalent of the chapters, but for the traitors, they have their own colours, and their own goals and own manners and tactics to reach them.
After the Horus heresy people needed faith and hope thanks to this, humanity has not fallen and continues to fight despite all the adversities that the galaxy throws at them like obstacles. It's not a matter of good or bad, it's a matter of survival in such an environment.Books will give a better view of this universe than some videos on YT.

Don't be afraid to play any game or any video or book there is, the universe is so huge, that there is no unified timeline or order you could follow
I wonder if he realises that with what Bricky does on these videos, he's barely scratching the surface of 40K lore and past the videos Bricky has made come creators like Majorkill, Leutin09 and Baldurmort who go a lot more in depth.
when it come to humans being the real horrors of this universe of horrors... one fun story as told by bricky...somewhen.... was; necrons begun to wake up on a tomb world, and as they are getting up, and looking around, rubbing the rust from their eyes after their millions of years long sleep, they find themselves under attack by a MASSIVE orc horde. they quickly get to their defenses and fight against the green tide as best they can but there are simply too many of them and they get overwhelmed to the point that the necron retreat to their tomb as a last bastion of defense... now dug in and ready for a siege... the orcs charge at them. as they begin to take their last stand. ready for the green tide to take them, the orcs charge at them... and then continue to run right past them. and it was in that moment that the necrons realized, the orcs were not attacking them, they were running from something... just as they start to wonder "what in the warp would make orks run for their lives?", a fleet of black templar ships pop into orbit of the planet...
Best book to read: Master of Mankind. Because it tells the story of humanity. Then there are the Horus Heresy books. Books about particular Imeprium Legions are best once you learn about the different factions for the tabletop. Bricky also has a video about the Legions.
If you want to understand the City part of Darktide more and just want to learn just how much only that singular part or Warhammer can blow, I would react/watch DamiLees video on HiveCities. Is she a Warhammer youtube? No, she is an architect actually, but she dove into Hive cities because she was asked to learn about them.
soldiers of the imperium may be cannon fodder but seem to be a high step up in social standing since a normal citizen would be a serf essentially a slave. food, water and air a daily challenge
12:50 - so the Eldar built their own psychic tunnel network separate from the warp called the Webway, with no demons in it! The Emperor thought this was the only way that humanity could advance back to where they were, to lose reliance on the warp entirely, and tried to make his own version. But one of the Primarchs (Magnus the nerd) fucked that plan up by busting a hole through it, letting demons inside with an express tunnel straight to the Emperor's throne room. Now the plan is ruined, and the Golden Throne is also trying to hold back the demons from busting up through his toilet. 32:14 - ALMOST entirely mechanical. Artificial intelligence is the one taboo that is ULTRA HERESY and never to be attempted, since AI was one of the causes of the Age Of Strife and the downfall of man. So the brain is the only thing that is sacred and must remain 'human'. That's why instead of full robots, the Imperium just lobotomises people and uses them to create servitors. You think those little servo skulls were just drones, nah bro they still got their brains.
Eldar travel through something called the web way, they dont have to use warp energy to travel. The emperor was working on a project so that humanity could use the webway but horus fucked all that up
9:03 when you play space marine 2 take a second to actually look at what your doing, then imagine you're a five year old Eldar child. Space marines are monsters who smashed all resistance in the galaxy to dust in the service of histories greatest tyrant.
Check out 'WHAT IS WARHAMMER? A guide for newcomers.' by Arbitor Ian for a good introduction to the hobby/game side and where/how it started. might not make for a good reaction video but worth checking out.
Bruh 40k is fire!!! It stands out even more today because everything is so watered down and safe these days. Not 40k. Every time you bother to research something in 40k it pays off; there's constant "wtf thats so cool" moments.
@ the leman Russ uses plasteel and ferrosteel in different areas, calling it notsteel just because it has steel in the name is like calling any dioxide compound notoxygen, it’s quite clearly a composite that exists to stand in for steel as an easy explanation for why it can take so much damage and while that is the case it doesn’t change that it’s a quite effective composite alloy.
There's no happiness in 40k? Incorrect good sir. There is a quite a lot of happiness actually. There actually exists Imperium pleasure planets. They have quite a few issues of their own but they're still more pleasant than anything else in 40k.
Dude i have a couple of suggestions in regards to 40k for u if ur interested. The first is The Mechanicus meets True AI by Voice Quills. And the second one is Pity the Guardsman by Nalack531. Both very entertaining videos for u to react to.
Can someone explain the joke Bricky makes about there being 18 or 20 primarchs? He’s says it in a couple of videos but I’ve never caught on to what it means.
Referred to as "the forgotten and the purged" it is known only that the missing primarchs and their Legions are listed as having been "deleted from Imperial records." This formal censure and erasure from official records is known as an Edict of Obliteration, also called a Damnatio Memoriae, a High Gothic phrase meaning "condemnation of memory." This is the official Imperial policy of deliberately destroying any records, icons or other symbols or monuments pertaining to an individual or organisation, usually of the Imperial elite, who has been declared Excommunicate Traitoris by the Emperor of Mankind (before He was interred within the Golden Throne), the High Lords of Terra or the Inquisition. In a galaxy-spanning empire that stresses fealty and loyalty to the Emperor in return for advancement, acclaim and spiritual salvation for its elites, this is perhaps one of the most severe punishments. The complete and utter erasure of all records of the II and XI Legions is considered by Imperial historians as the most successful Edict of Obliteration ever carried out in Imperial history. warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Lost_Primarchs
League of legends lore/story is written by Dan Abnett and many of the black library writers that's maybe why you think of victor from League when thinking of adeptus mechanicus haha
I think u didn't listen to what he said from your previous video... he said that eldars are really good at using psychic energy using the warp... that means they dont need to sacrifice just to open a portal for travel...
@TNTGamingonline I recommend WARHAMMER 40k TIMELINE IN 20 MINS! From the 21st Century to the 41st Millenium or Every WARHAMMER 40,000 FACTION in 20 MINS! by Arbitor Ian. his videos are much more accessible and with less inaccurate jokes and exaggeration
Honestly, when Bricky didn't tell anything about Krieg, I felt a little bit upset. Like their fate is only rivaled by Cadians and perhaps Catachans. I'm not into getting offended, but Bricky not telling anything about Death Korps of Krieg stung a little bit. I really advise you to look them up, cuz if Cadians are tough (Their planet cracked open but their defences never did), Catachans just extra tough, but Kriegs ultimately disregard losses cuz they belive that dying in battle is an atonement for the civil war.
if you got a basic understanding of the lore like you do start with something that sounds for me i started with the heresy books with a mix of some new stuff the cain books to be exact
Well.. to be fair it's kinda hard to just say "here's a book you should start with!" Lol (at least in my opinion) I mean, if you know the primarchs n have a basic to moderate understanding of 40k, could start with the horus heresy, but that's like... 50 books on it's own lol
On the beliefs of the Adeptus Mechanicus - they believe in a Holy Trinity of the Machine God, the Omnissiah, and the Motive Force. The Machine God is the divine creator of all knowledge and technology, the Omnissiah is the prophet and messenger of the Machine God, and the Motive Force is the divine power that permeates the universe and allows machines to move under their own power. The official dogma of the Cult Mechanicus is that the Emperor _is_ the Omnissiah. It's questionable whether the higher ranks actually believe that, but they at least act as if they do, which gives them enough plausible deniability. And don't get them wrong - the Cult Mechanicus are absolutely human supremacists. They believe humans are the chosen of the Machine God, and that it's humanity's destiny to conquer the galaxy. They just don't really define humanity in terms of flesh. As far as they're concerned, a flesh body is just a machine like any other, so they're happy to customise and upgrade their bodies with superior parts. You can tell roughly how senior a Techpriest is by how many augmetics they have. A junior member might just have metallic eyes or a mechanical tail, while high-ranking Magi might be little more than a brain and some organs connected to a massive mechanical body. The Fabricator General of Mars - essentially the leader of the entire faction - is a building-sized stack of cogitators and data stacks surrounding a human brain and support equipment. No matter how far they go, though, they will _never_ become completely mechanical. They'll never replace their organic brain. Add to it, augment it, connect it to other computing systems, certainly, but there has to be that organic element in there to avoid making a fully Abominable Intelligence.
He does a good job breaking down the lore, but in my opinion he’s over exaggerating by claiming the Imperium of man are the most evil/worst in the setting. It’s not like the Imperium hates aliens and heresy for the fun of it, humanity has literally been through probably 6 different galactic apocalypses all caused by Chaos, AI and hostile aliens. The Eldar and their fuckery literally destroyed humanities golden age, and so did AI. The Orks nearly destroyed Terra and are constantly attacking, most of the Necrons would gladly exterminate every human in the galaxy to have their empire back, the tyranids are eating everything in their path, and Chaos are the literal forces of hell manifested, they also destroyed humanities second golden age. Humanity is the way it is in 40k as a response to all the hostile life forms it’s surrounded by, their actions are literally the only way they could survive, humanity itself wouldn’t be able to remain united if not for the fanatical worship of the emperor at this point. They literally have to be this way to not be exterminated.

To us they would be evil. However, in the setting humanity is simply trying to survive. It just shows how terrible the galaxy is. Each faction is basically trying to wipe out all the others. The only way humanity can survive is to become this terrible regime that is completely devoted to killing everything that stands against it.

I would say the imperium is the protagonist faction of the Warhammer Galaxy. They're evil, but I wouldn't say they're the most evil.

Looking forward to part 2!
If you want books, the previous Bricky video, the timeline, had book recommendations for newbies at the end
Welcome to the Battle, Brother.
just so you know, Space Marines and imperium are often posterboys for Warhammer, but definitely continue with the rest of the video, because there are other great races and factions in this universe
WAAAAAGGHHH!!!!
as for your first video about lore...
What do you call a lasgun with a flashlight?
Twin-linked.
One for the tabletop gamers there.
Even though I might be a little late to say this:
*Welcome to 40K!*
My candle burns at both ends
It will not last the night,
But ah, my foes,
And oh, my freinds-
It gives a lovely light.
when it come to humans being the real horrors of this universe of horrors... one fun story as told by bricky...somewhen.... was;
necrons begun to wake up on a tomb world, and as they are getting up, and looking around, rubbing the rust from their eyes after their millions of years long sleep, they find themselves under attack by a MASSIVE orc horde.
they quickly get to their defenses and fight against the green tide as best they can but there are simply too many of them and they get overwhelmed to the point that the necron retreat to their tomb as a last bastion of defense... now dug in and ready for a siege... the orcs charge at them.
as they begin to take their last stand. ready for the green tide to take them, the orcs charge at them... and then continue to run right past them.
and it was in that moment that the necrons realized, the orcs were not attacking them, they were running from something... just as they start to wonder "what in the warp would make orks run for their lives?", a fleet of black templar ships pop into orbit of the planet...
Best book to read: Master of Mankind. Because it tells the story of humanity. Then there are the Horus Heresy books. Books about particular Imeprium Legions are best once you learn about the different factions for the tabletop. Bricky also has a video about the Legions.
it's rarely to see a gamer who truely want to dive into the lore before playing the game likes you
If you want to understand the City part of Darktide more and just want to learn just how much only that singular part or Warhammer can blow, I would react/watch DamiLees video on HiveCities.
Is she a Warhammer youtube? No, she is an architect actually, but she dove into Hive cities because she was asked to learn about them.
If you leave a Cadian in Darktide a bit too long on the Floor before rescuing,
you´ll get one of the most Gutwrenching Voicelines in the Game.
The Spacemarine games are a good intro. As is Darktide. For books check out the Ciaphas Cain novels for a good intro.
soldiers of the imperium may be cannon fodder but seem to be a high step up in social standing since a normal citizen would be a serf essentially a slave. food, water and air a daily challenge
I don't play the tabletop but I collect the miniatures and the lore.
shout out to bolt thrower 🤘
‘ i’m surprised nobody made a movie or series ‘ Henry Cavill enters the Chat.
19:27 ....the planet broke before the guard did
Check out 'WHAT IS WARHAMMER? A guide for newcomers.' by Arbitor Ian for a good introduction to the hobby/game side and where/how it started. might not make for a good reaction video but worth checking out.
Will you do the next part?
Welcome to the hobby my friend !!
Have to do a break down of the different Primarks and choose your favorite
Bruh 40k is fire!!! It stands out even more today because everything is so watered down and safe these days. Not 40k. Every time you bother to research something in 40k it pays off; there's constant "wtf thats so cool" moments.
You should check out Luetin09 as well. He has a plethora of lore videos and they're all fire.
i recommend nightbringer as your first 40k book to read
fun fact the most armour one of those tanks will have clocks in at around 220mm, quite thin
Consider however that they’re likely made from something more durable than steel, often different composites and layered.
@amelianyoom9545 pretty sure it's just a solid block of notreallysteel
@ the leman Russ uses plasteel and ferrosteel in different areas, calling it notsteel just because it has steel in the name is like calling any dioxide compound notoxygen, it’s quite clearly a composite that exists to stand in for steel as an easy explanation for why it can take so much damage and while that is the case it doesn’t change that it’s a quite effective composite alloy.
@@amelianyoom9545 I called it notreallysteel as a poke, because how the fuck do you 'alloy' plastic with metal and steel is usually ferrous
There's no happiness in 40k? Incorrect good sir. There is a quite a lot of happiness actually. There actually exists Imperium pleasure planets. They have quite a few issues of their own but they're still more pleasant than anything else in 40k.
Serving the emperor is THE happiness!!!
@@seishifrost5599 Quite correct brother.
There is happyness, welcome papa Nurgle and mommy Slaneesh
I mean, us Boyz are having a great time
Serving the Emperor is its own pleasure.
Dude i have a couple of suggestions in regards to 40k for u if ur interested. The first is The Mechanicus meets True AI by Voice Quills. And the second one is Pity the Guardsman by Nalack531. Both very entertaining videos for u to react to.
2:35 pause
I would recommend Baldermort for lore aswell
emperor of man
❤ tier list
#1 normal humans
#2 space marines
emperor referred to his primarch as pinnochio. a wooden boy wishing to be human
Can someone explain the joke Bricky makes about there being 18 or 20 primarchs? He’s says it in a couple of videos but I’ve never caught on to what it means.
Referred to as "the forgotten and the purged" it is known only that the missing primarchs and their Legions are listed as having been "deleted from Imperial records."
This formal censure and erasure from official records is known as an Edict of Obliteration, also called a Damnatio Memoriae, a High Gothic phrase meaning "condemnation of memory."
This is the official Imperial policy of deliberately destroying any records, icons or other symbols or monuments pertaining to an individual or organisation, usually of the Imperial elite, who has been declared Excommunicate Traitoris by the Emperor of Mankind (before He was interred within the Golden Throne), the High Lords of Terra or the Inquisition.
In a galaxy-spanning empire that stresses fealty and loyalty to the Emperor in return for advancement, acclaim and spiritual salvation for its elites, this is perhaps one of the most severe punishments. The complete and utter erasure of all records of the II and XI Legions is considered by Imperial historians as the most successful Edict of Obliteration ever carried out in Imperial history.
warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Lost_Primarchs
in reality its a lore reason to leave space for people to create their own primarchs for the tabletop
League of legends lore/story is written by Dan Abnett and many of the black library writers that's maybe why you think of victor from League when thinking of adeptus mechanicus haha
Another one has joined the battle. PRAISE BE TO OUR NEW WARHAMMER BROTHER, MAY HIS WALLET SURVIVE THE PLASTIC CRACK !
A bit late, but if you want more 40K lore, I highly recommend Baldemort.
The planet [Cadia] broke before the Cadians did. (literally. the planet cracked under the assault of the Chaos forces. The Cadians never lost spirit.)
Actually the cadians took their own planet out using their doomsday weapon.
Bricky gave some good book recommendations at the end of the Timeline video that you skipped.
MACHINE SPIRIT MAY OUR SHOT BE TRUE
Honestly, when Bricky didn't tell anything about Krieg, I felt a little bit upset.
Like their fate is only rivaled by Cadians and perhaps Catachans. I'm not into getting offended, but Bricky not telling anything about Death Korps of Krieg stung a little bit.
I really advise you to look them up, cuz if Cadians are tough (Their planet cracked open but their defences never did), Catachans just extra tough, but Kriegs ultimately disregard losses cuz they belive that dying in battle is an atonement for the civil war.
you should check out the Death Guard of Krieg lol
cadia go boom
if you got a basic understanding of the lore like you do start with something that sounds for me i started with the heresy books with a mix of some new stuff the cain books to be exact
eating enemies for knowledge is normal for all legions
This phaeron approves
🤘😝🤘
Dawn of war
Winter assault
Dark crusade
Soulstrom
All of them are dawn of war tho they RTS games
After Bricky part 2 can you react to Emperor of Mankind [1] Raise of Humanity by Luetin09
Well.. to be fair it's kinda hard to just say "here's a book you should start with!" Lol (at least in my opinion)
I mean, if you know the primarchs n have a basic to moderate understanding of 40k, could start with the horus heresy, but that's like... 50 books on it's own lol
Check trench crusade
Cadia still stands 😢
You need to react to Luetin09's WH40k content! MINDBLOWING lore videos
They literally have to be this way to not be exterminated.
we had no choice and were faced with a fait accompli
but to know this you must read the Lore no YT video don't give you that knowledge
by the way Bricky is a twat he is tourist he himself admitted that he was not interested in Lore so fok him and his anime weirdos
"Theres nothing happy in this universe". I think some of da boyz in the comments would disagree lol.
To us they would be evil. However, in the setting humanity is simply trying to survive. It just shows how terrible the galaxy is. Each faction is basically trying to wipe out all the others. The only way humanity can survive is to become this terrible regime that is completely devoted to killing everything that stands against it.
like in real life
read about what servitors are, not even hitler was this cruel
Humanity is not evil, some of their leaders might be but like the majority of most of the other species they are desperately fighting for survival.
they burned eldar children for not being human. read about what servitors are, not even hitler was this cruel
@@Soldier-J7 they would probably fall under the "leaders that might be" evil faction.
They’re evil in the sense that they’re driven mad by the hundreds of humanity extinction level threats around them in the universe
Nah it's cool Bicky has been called worse rofl
My freind, welcome to the suck! :)
alright now maybe dont take another week to upload the next one
