Tiger’s unwillingness to acknowledge the limitations of the technology they’re working with was unmatched. For the LCD adaptation of Atari’s Area 51 light gun arcade game, they actually made you have to use a laser pointer to shoot the aliens on a tiny screen with no backlight. I think there was also a Mortal Kombat LCD game that used cards like the e-Reader, the things Tiger’s game developers tried to do with these pieces of crap was unhinged.

I had the Power Rangers one growing up despite having a proper PC and Game Boy, and I think it was because, as a huge Power Rangers fan, I never had a proper PR game to play.
I’d forgotten about it for the longest time until the AVGN episode on these things and it all came back.

I remember those. While the batteries lasted for a while, they were the most bare bones games a person could play. Keep ducking and hitting bad guys to score points, or dodge some enemies to get to the next level. These toys were what kids would play to tide themselves over during a long car ride (hopefully to a place which actually had _real_ games). I faintly remember other kids losing these at school all the time. Either that, or they would drop them, and the thing would break.
    Good times, good times.

Some of them were amazing and the wii U was one of my childhood consoles (sad I know), and I remember being obssessed with sone of the games, and seeing some of the special manuals like the mario maker one that had level design tips, as well as secret videos you could only get by using codes from the mario maker art book that came with the collectors edition, and even fun quirky animations. Hell Paper mario colour splash even had really cool and kinda sad lore. Just think talking about some of these manuals would be cool as I kinda miss having manuals to look at.

I actually used to own Tank Attack 1998, which was a completely different game from the earlier Tiger Electronic Games named Tank Attack. It functioned more like the original NES Legend of Zelda but was still an LCD game. It was actually a good Tiger Electronics Game to be honest. You could memorize where powerups where, boss locations, etc, and it saved your progress.
Sadly it seems to be a very rare Tiger Electronics Game and you can not find it for sale anywhere. The one time I did see it for sale on amazon I so regret not buying it. I for the love of me can not find mine, so I'm assuming I pitched it at one time without realizing the significance of it. "Tiger Tank Attack Handheld LCD Game 1998 Model: 67-031"

Seeing the rubber buttons bitten off the double dragon one was a real hit of nostalgia. I always chewed those off! Lol glad I wasn’t alone!

I used to love trying to figure these games out. I had the Street Fighter II as a kid and we had a really bad snow storm that knocked power out for over 24 hours. So all I had to play was SFII, by the end of the outage I understood everything about the game.

Sitting here trying to remember which one I had and Scott breaks out. Minutes of my life spent twiddling my thumbs on the mighty morphing and Mortal Kombat.
Till this day the only mortal Kombat I've ever actually played.

I had a 2005 Technosource Teen Titans LCD game. I mostly played it when my parents grounded me and had forgotten about it.

As a Transformers and Game & Watch collector, the TF Tiger was a must have for me. It's pretty fun. Probably the best of these reissues.
You have to drive the road as Optimus in truck mode until you meet a Decepticon so you transform and shoot them. You have to dodge the bullets and you can call an Autobot to help you. You have a lifebar and you get HP by collecting power while driving in truck mode. You have to get to the end of the road and there you go.
    It's fun. I liked it!

    (Meanwhile, in the 1990s...)
Mother: Happy birthday [Kid name here]. Here's your present
Kid: Yay mom, you bought me a Game Boy? Or even the Game Gear? That one has color
Mother: Son, we bought you something different than a Game Boy and a Game Gear
Kid: **Opens the present** ... A Tiger Electronics Game?
    Mother: Do you like it?
Kid: ... YOU BOUGHT ME A SONIC 3 TIGER ELECTRONICS GAME? BUT I WANTED A GAME GEAR!
Mother: Sweetie, those are so expensive that even the games are expensive. We bought you a Tiger Electronic Game because we don't have enough money for a Sega Game Gear
Kid: Okay, I'll use the Tiger Electronic Game

I actually enjoyed playing these when I was a kid. I had Jurassic Park and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers & I still have them. Last year I got X-MEN plus I also had some that wasn't made from Tiger Electronics

I found the Jurassic Park one at a Ross, and i got it for my birthday. It wasn't bad, but it definitely wants to do more than the hardware can allow. You have to make it to the end of the level while avoiding dinos and obstacles, and you do that for 4 levels until you get to the fuse box. I made it to level 4, but I lost my last life there. I really wish these things were backlit, and some sprites like to hide in the corners. I think Game and Watch was more memorable because thye kept things more simple and easy to understand.

As someone who plays magic the gathering and D&D, two other things owned by hasbro, it really doesn’t surprise me to hear they did this. When Scott said these things were by Hasbro, I rolled my eyes so hard they fell out. Thank god for talk to text, but could someone please help me find my eyes, I think they’re under the couch?

As a kid I had a Tiger Electronics Baseball from 1987 and it might have been the best they ever made. You had to time your button presses to hit the ball, and on defense move your players to catch hit balls.
