Im not gonna lie i was like , no im not searching in all the videos for projects 1 so i was like what if this dude really is organized and has a playlists section also organized like maybe 0,01% of youtube creators do . And i was amazed that you acttually have an organized playlists section this is like so much easier for people to find a video they want so im glad there is still people who this.
Thanks for the lessons! After 25 years working with technology, I've decided to start woodworking as a hobby. Best decision ever! After one year studying every night, this year I decided to start working with tech allied to woodworking... best decision again... but is not simple I was thinking, and guys like you made our development grow every watched video. Thanks a lot! Happy new year! And sorry for my bad English :)
Easy to watch videos with lots of essential things for a newbie to learn... thanks Roger! I like your style and how you casually convey great depth of knowledge without talking down to viewers. Best, Matt
Matt, Thanks! I've been a subscriber to your channel for quite some time and appreciate that you disclose some of the "tricks of the trade" relating to carpentry. As a retired electrician, I have a bag of tricks too that I share on occasion.
started watching this video but stopped momentarily when you mentioned the free files. Spent 15 minutes there downloading a ton of free files. will go back there to buy some files. Went back to your video. Love the way you explain things.
Hi Roger. I know this is not the right place to ask this question. I am trying to setup the framing on my longer b1 30w. I know about the device setting. I do not seam to have a MOVE TAB so I can change the power and speed. Can you please help me? I am learning a lot from watching you. Thank you for taking the time in showing us new-b's.
At the top of the screen in Lightburn, click on Window. This opens a list of options. Click on the "Move" choice and it will put that tab on your screen.
Another good video for this newbie. Headed to Lowes this morning for some Cedar. At $1.47 for 5/8-in x 3-1/2-in x 6-ft Western Red Cedar Flat-top Fence Picket that's a great deal.
I have an LX1 and am new to the laser world can I follow same steps for my machine . The video is awesome can't wait to give it a try. Also how close does the laser have to be to your work
Thank you for these videos! we’ve had our laser for awhile but I couldn’t find much help with it at the time. Have your used lasergrbl? Do You have to pay for laser burn?
I'm like a sponge right now! Nice videos. My new 3018-PROVer came with LaserGRBL and LightBurn on a thumb drive. I see you use LightBurn. How does it compare to LaserGRBL? Plus looks like LaserBurn has a cost associated with it. Thanks
Lightburn does have a cost ($60), but in my opinion, it is so far superior to Laser GRBL, it doesn't even compare. there is so much more you can do in Lightburn, it's almost comparing apples to oranges. (I'm NOT sponsored by Lightburn)
@@rogersshop Hi great video ! There’s some many softwares of light burn on their page 60$ and up which one should I buy for the Ortur master 3 please ?
@@lizmarin6149 Best to get direct from Lightburn: lightburnsoftware.com/ $60 license allows install on up to two computers, and if you ask nice, three.
I came upon your projects just last night. I'm impressed. I'm glad you are doing it slowly step by step! One quick question about air assist. I just bought the xtool d1 pro 20 watt. I plan on getting air assist after seeing the differences with and without. Would you recommend making my own air assist or biting the bullet and getting the xtool air assist unit?
Hi I have just purchased an Ortur Laser Master 3 I've burnt one thing on it and that was great but since then I can't get it to go to the 200mm x 200mm centre point that I choose on lightburn. It seems to stay on Y 000mm. Do you have any ideas that could help me please.
Thanks again. I have tried all three positions current position, user origin and absolute coordinates but it keeps coming up with cut might be out of bounds and G-code locked out during alarm or jog state when I'm trying to cut a grill

Oh Roger! I love your videos, and I am following along and doing exactly what you are doing, but what I am doing wrong?!? Your offset fill says 10 mins, mine says 4 hours!! I have the same laser speed output settings as you!
@@rogersshop so I am using the free trial version of lightburn if that makes a difference. today I re-opened it, and it was down to just over an hour, but I cannot get it down to your times. The part about you not using Air Assist because most beginners don't have it, was worth the price of admission. You, sir, are a natural born teacher!
Just wanted to say thank you for your beginner series videos. They have sure been helpful to me as I attempt to learn Lightburn and my Xtool.
Very good thank you.
I will be looking for the rest of your videos.

Not familiar with the LX1, but being a 20W unit, results should be similar.

I use Lightburn 99.9% of the time. You do have to pay for it, but it FAR exceeds laser GRBL capabilities (I do not laser GRBL)
Thanks for the great information..I am just starting on the same unit..can't wait

Are you using "User origin", Current Position", or "Absolute Coordinates"? I use absolute coordinates with work origin from center.
Hi thank you for replying. Yes I'm on absolute coordinates.
@@jackdbob If your project is centered and work origin is set to center, the laser should go to the center point from home when you start the project.
