Revolver trigger reset is all the way forward. The trigger travel is longer in a DA revolver than a semiautomatic. They're a different animal, but they are excellent for close encounters.

I got mine for a special "year end" sale at Turners for just $299 a few years ago. By far the BEST handgun purchase I have made! I thought it would be a good back up gun but this has turned into my primary carry gun. SO reliable, light, easy to carry (especially for hot summer weather carry). I didn't like how it shot at first so I installed some Hogue grips and a Wilson spring kit. Those two things made the gun 100% better to shoot. I can hit center mass at 5 yards and 7 yards, and even at longer ranges it's not that bad. But this is a short range defensive handgun, it's not a long range firearm. For what it's designed for, it does great. I can carry this all day long and almost forget it's even there. This fits the definition of an "always gun".

I have had wilson combat spring kits in both my 360j and 642 never had any issues and i shoot them a lot, don't hesitate or worry they run great ,i have had them in for over 5 years.

I put a larger Hogue rubber grip on my 442. It made it way more fun to shoot, stopped the thumb blisters. When I retired from the PD, the state of New Jersey wouldn't let retired cops carry hollow point ammo. I've been carrying Underwood's hard cast wad-cutters.

My 642 Pro went down a couple days ago with a broken hammer pivot stud. I’ve carried it several years off duty and on as a backup gun. I shoot it a lot and have put thousands of rounds through it. Couldn’t be without a J-frame. I went out yesterday and bought an M&P340. I’m having the chambers chamfered. I pick it up tomorrow.

I don’t mean to be disagreeable or overly critical, but it really annoys me to hear someone say that a snubby is not accurate. The gun is perfectly accurate. It is the shooter who doesn’t know how to shoot a snubby that is inaccurate with the small gun.

5 shots, 5 seconds, center of mass, 50 yards. I do 1 ragged hole at 7 yards with a light handload i do. I'd have to load it back up, but it's like 3.5 grains of be-86. Best 38 powder imo.

To be fair, I think he was trying to make the point that this is a short range defensive gun, not designed for long range use. The short barrel, tiny fixed sights, it just isn't designed for long range shooting. It's designed to shoot the mugger who assaults you at the ATM or the 7/11. For that, it performs VERY well.

I just wish it were cheaper. It’s hard to justify ~$519 when you look at the firepower of something like the Sig P365/X or even the LCP MAX .380. The price should be closer to $380. It does have an old school cool factor though and it’s on my list if the price drops considerably.

Good review. I had one airweight before and after shooting for awhile the trigger became super smooth and lightened up but not too much. I am considering buying another one but price is now over $500. Those revolvers more reliable than semi auto for sure. I like the stainless but now prefer the black because it is harder to see when carrying and doesn't reflect light. I need to check out the sights before I buy it though as I forgot how the iron sights are but knowing sw they are good.

357mag really does sort of require something near the 30oz or greater mark with a bigger grip, to absorb recoil and be something to train with. The S&W Model 66 combat magnum with 2.75" barrel would be ideal for that.
