    I own the same black MK8, and after ruing 2 sets of brakepads in 4 trackdays the first thing that I changed was upgrading to a big brake kit. Rollbars and extra HP are nice, but not if your car cant handle them for more than 10min. Would recommend to all, the biggest weakness of the car, just like they said. Now the car is a beast and can keep going all day!

      I put 4 ferodo DS500, racing liquid for brakes and metal hoses. I use to drive fiesta by mountains roads every week and i dont need more. But if some day i drive to much and very hard, the brakes still get hot. But u have to be an animal for get tired your brakes. In a circuit i think is indispensable to improve brakes in any car. By the way in more pretty is blue performance .P.

    Brake cooling can sometimes be required (especially with high performance pads). Braking is converting friction into heat. The better the friction, more the heat. Thus, can happen that better pads perform worse because of small brake discs that heat up quickly, especially with weak or no cooling. Heat can not dissipate quick enough, causing resins in pads to evaporate intensively and eventually brake fluid to boil (especially if any moisture it fluid) .

    • @ssnerd583
      @ssnerd583 11 місяців тому +2

      as a 5x100 Subaru driver I can attest that this is a fact. I bought a sheet of 6AL4V titanium and made some brake pad shims that helped tremendously with the fluid boiling.....also using the SRF fluid helped as well.

    Oh, and I forgot to say that I put some Pilot Sport 5 on it. You can push it as hard as you can, there’s always enough grip for the 1.0 Ecoboost. 4 years with the Fiesta at the moment and more than 90000km without any problems.

    The car is another animal, it has even better rotation, no timing cut when spinning, and better than everything: no overheating brakes.

      All about brakes is speed + mass, called kinetic energy. Horsepower is not a factor for braking.

      All you need is braided lines, better brake fluid and some proper track pads. It doesn't cost much in these cars, very moddable on a budget

      Every car that's going on the track needs upgraded fluid, braided lines and pads. If you can't get the original to fade, you're not driving fast enough.

      @StefanP742 from 230 to 250 is quite a difference though so if it's 230 or 240 let's say it's still a difference plus the 4wd of the yaris plus how way more expensive is so my comment stays the same the ford would way better than this mediocre thing for this money and his specs

      @@ecobeast1.0 guessing the guy hasn't had it dyno'd, I see the figures for stage 1 on the mk8 st range between 230ish to 250... so yeah somewhere inbetween... tbh they are very capable cars, when I had mine I put KW v3 coilovers on it, a front strut brace and rear torsion bar and it handled so well! So controlled and could go into corners so fast with a bit of rotation but was always so easy to correct

    When you encounter such person as in the Yaris I think you should drop back for 30 seconds and then flat out again it doesn’t seem worth it to go into the back of them because they don’t know the braking points properly I know you shouldn’t have to do that and they should move over but some just don’t and it’s not worth being in harms way because some lemon thinks his skill level is much higher than it actually is!
