In 1979, the Army did away with the Beret and went back to the garrison hat, which I proudly wore the glider patch upon, when I ended that time of military service to my country on my journey home.
you didn't mention how a coffin factory made parts for them or ho the first promo flight killed everyone onboard, hence flying coffins at the end of war surplus gliders were bought up...because their cartons that they came in made nice sheds.
