Story 1: The OP's dad is a major piece of crap and probably qualifies as one of the worst dad's ive ever heard on the channel thus far. He deserved every bit of bad things that came his way. I hate people like that. Faking being a veteran is bad enough, but made worse when you do have the papers to prove it. It's all made even worse with all of the emotional and physical abuse as well. There were huge red flags when he said he made the OP to fear the CPS and police. The dad knew he was in the wrong by saying that and used it as a way to try and never get caught or punished. Hopefully he did get punished in some way and not just have his reputation wrecked.
Story 2: Dont give you mom a single penny. She is terrible with money and sounds terrible overall too, with getting the grandmother to cut out others in the will, just so she can get everything. Greed will get you everytime. If you give her any money, you can guarantee that you'll never get any of it back.
Story 3: Why work that long for these morons? I know i would've quit ages ago, along with contacting every single government agency i could think of long before the OP did. Glad that Dave and Erica lost out on everything and equally more hilarious that Erica got stranded in Italy after being robbed. That's definitely karma there. Hope she stays stranded and homeless in Italy too.
Story 4: OP is by no means the jerk here. The SIL definitely is though. If the brother and SIL want to make their kid their centre of the universe, then they are allowed to... but they shouldn't except anyone else to make the kid/niece their centre of the universe. The guilt tripping and gaslighting here is really pathetic. If i were the OP, i would threaten to rescind their wedding invites if they continue to act this way, you dont need that kind of drama.
Last OP: It's not you not wanting to incorporate your niece in your wedding, it's your sister being drunk on the attention at the cost of her daughter and being slighted when her addiction gets denied.
Last story: I completely agree with the OP’s decision. The SIL needs to realize that the world doesn’t revolve around her, and that no one outside the family actually cares about her having a miracle baby. Everyone else would just see it as an entitled relative trying to get their way, when it’s just not happening

I agree with OP's decision form the last story. 1) It's OP and her fiancés wedding, so what they say goes. 2) The niece is 2, I highly doubt she'd make a good flower girl. Besides, that role was already promised to her *daughter* (albeit stepdaughter, but she's OP daughter nonetheless). If I was in OP's situation, the brother and SIL would be uninvited since I wouldn't put it past them to try and steer the attention to their "MiRaClE BabY" with the same stories they told multiple times before from the bride and groom. And last time I checked, it's taboo to steal the spotlight from the wedded couple on their wedding

Third storyline is just the fact that Mom has a drug issue and that's half of the problem, she gets wasted and goes on a shopping spree. Honestly I'd block her and let her figure it out because it's her own fault

I have a family of 5 living off one income, with an alcoholic, panic buyer, and self-entitled narcissus who believes every my family owns is hers and hers only and that the world will end if someone won't get her a drink. this woman can do tasks for herself and is just too lazy

first thing, no one actually spec ops refers to themselves as spec ops. They will call themselves a SEAL, Ranger, Force Reconnaissance, EOD, Green Beret ect. if they refer to it at all. Part of this using the fleet for example is because your rank is tied directly to your rating. One might be a GM2(SWCC, SW). Though qualified as a SWCC, In casual conversation they are still just a petty officer. No one says "i'm special forces". It's one of those things you pick up on when your active. For all my time no one ever called it "the service" or said things like "where did you serve". We were in the fleet or navy, and we were stationed. Even those attached to a ship were stationed at that ships home port and deployed along with their vessel. That is another one that stands out. In my word air wing personnel never referred to "what ship they were on". They were assigned to a squadron that in turn was a assigned to a CAG that would for the purposes of deployment be deployed with a battle group. We were our own independent command structure. Little details like this may seem minor or incidental, but they are how the genuine article can spot stolen valor a mile out. We know our own.

Story 2 - The mother is terrible, treating her sisters, children, and who knows who else, the way she has. However, what knocked me for a loop was her going to OP's apartment the night before they're scheduled to deliver donated food to the food bank so she can go through and pilfer some of the food. Unbelievable!
The first story reminds me of my friend saying “when you grow up you’ll be in the special forces now go back to your special Ed class”
Story 2: time for some tough love, OP needs to put her foot down.

SIL wants a 6 yr old to carry a 2 yr old down a long church isle. That seems irresponsible to me. Average 2 year old girls weighs 26.5 lbs and stand nearly 3 feet tall. Average weight of a six year old is 44 lbs. Average six year olds are not power lifters.
That mom literally needs some sort of meds to get off drugs. (I have no idea if there even are though)
Story 2 my grandma was going into surgery and I made my own business at school and the surgery was gonna cost $9000 so I couldn’t pay anybody and they started like complaining. Also I am a 10 year old male and they expected to get paid and I said no because I had to save money to pay for my grandma so she can get better because she still needed some stuff because I wanted to make him feel better and they were like no let me I want to get paying now, but like it’s $9000 and then one of my friends came in there like surgery is way more for way more important then getting paid because they’re like in need of diary, emergency care and ever since then. Yeah, am I the jerk.

The third stories where the art husband feels "abandoned", it's full bull, he seemed selfish wanting everything to be his way, the best option would be to send him to therapy and go to therapy couple together, if it doesn't work out then I guess the last option which would hurt is divorce. I mean let's look clearly he is selfish and wants to feel wanted and needed, but wants you to loose your job, but once your kids gets older and if an accident happen it will be difficult especially since he used the saving for a small business that failed.

The last story, every time someone has a “miracle baby” they try to make them the center of attention for anything and everything
The irony is in most cases the miracle babies grow up to be the worst people, a lot of them end up expecting everything they want to just be given to them

I know this is for the stories and i will say, the last one ticked me off cause the SIL is suggesting her daughter.....
