I’ve never understood why people (mostly men) get insecure when their partner has a better job with better benefits and more money or free time. It makes no sense to make a problem out of it. If you end up marrying this person and they make more money and or enough to take care of both of you and you could end up helping her business get bigger and end up making more money. Why would you be upset that your partner makes more money unless they don’t pay their fair share and still expect you to pay for everything even though they make more that will be the only thing that won’t make the situation understandable.
So to be fair it sounds like the guy is spending his money on schooling and things for the future while the woman is set for now but has been skipping school and other things to focus on things she likes doing like travel and scuba diving. So idk for sure about him being insecure except he's seeing that she will prioritize her own happiness over working together toward their future.
