I hate all the people coming into the comment section claiming “the rap vocals are shit” or “they don’t belong there”. I thought it was an incredibly inventive way to add flair to this new format. I’m a huge Animals as Leaders fan, but this composition is one I’ve found myself coming back to for years now. Don’t let all these fuck heads put you down, this version of the song goes hard.
This is awesome. The addition of vocals really make this an adaptation rather than a cover, and that's a good thing. If I want to hear Physical Education, AAL is going to do it best. This took a great song and shifted it into another great genre with a different interpretation. Jazz fusion is a complicated genre and they do it well. Also mixed really well, damn.
i was like "that is a good point" but then I saw the pony in your profile pic and came to the conclusion all of your opinions must be fucked up and wrong
Was not even to close to expecting what I just witnessed. Really cool and unique. Can't hate or dislike this. Just cool and original musicians. Good job.
Hey dont listen to those poeple in the comment saying that the vocals ruin it. For me is fucking perfect, you have done some really cool stuff here. they just dont like it because it was not what they expected
it was a little two different to me. I wanted to hear all the different sections moved to jazz, but all they did was recreate the chorus riff basically
Linden Nelson It's a cover. The arrangement is just really not that tied to the original. That's the exiting part of music, atleast for me, you can arrange any song and make it feel as you wish.
That's the definition of a remix.... A cover is at least sticking to the original 90+ percent of the way and adding your own twist to it. Say, you perform it at a much slower (or faster) pace than the original, or add your own vocal inflections, change a few notes here and there, or do it in a different style but sticking to the format of a original song. This is basically a jazz fusion piece solely based off of the main melody behind AAL's "Physical Education" song with a bunch of additional composed additions added to it. It's the same thing as rappers sampling the melody of a 70's funk song and rapping on top of it and calling it a "cover". I know you're trolling, but I at least had to respond.
Lol I don't understand this argument. How is adding vocals to an instrumental song different from adding an instrument that wasn't played in the original song?
The voice is a very powerful instrument, it can produce melodies and chords and their is many ways to use it differently, not to mention limitless kinds of rhythmic patterns you can make with your voice.
I personally think the rapper is really talented as well as the other vocalists especially the self harmonizing pieces. It is a little weird for an instrumental song but I thought it was really cool to listen to. Well done
A lot of people are saying the vocals ruined the song. In my opinion, I feel like they fit. I mean, it's a cover of an instrumental song and this group did an amazing job instrumentally, obviously. The rapping and singing only add to this brilliant display of musicianship and hard work; as well as THEIR interpretation of this song.
Is this DJAZZ
Indeed
Djentzz
Everyone is saying they don't like the rapping but I think it's pretty awesome. Also the female vocals ROCKED.
FML the groove in the first minute is just HOT!!... vocals on the other hand ugh...

Thank you so much !🙏🙏 We're happy you found it relevant and liked our version of this song :)
@@metaphump3846 Keep doing what you guys do and you’ll at least always have fans in Southern California!!!
Haters gonna hate, vocals were an excellent fit. Keep it up!

He might die a little inside if he sees this.
@@nonviolentguy you don't know him

@@aidilmubarock5394 actually tosin listen mostly to non metal and likes rap lol
Have you ever thought about Animals As Leaders may already be a jazz/metal-fusion band? Nevertheless pretty cool!
This is fucking amazing. I love that you guys reimagined the song and even threw in vocals, really freshened up the song. This kicks ass!
I feel physically educated after watching this

I was like "this is amazing", until I heard the vocals… I mean, it's supposed to be an instrumental song
Same
The girl vocals were fucking amazing, pure jazz ! The "rap" section was shit btw
Dude, it wasn't shit.
Shouldn't have been there, I agree on that, but it's well done, you can't just say it's shit.
Although i agree that calling something shit can be harsh.. in this case its completely necessary. the rapping here is pure shit.
i was like "that is a good point" but then I saw the pony in your profile pic and came to the conclusion all of your opinions must be fucked up and wrong

WoW I dig this !!!
Camille Bertault ? Really ? Je suis content !!
This was a good attempt at reinvention, I can appreciate the effort and outlook.
I'd say 7/10
thank you
DUUUUDE, Loved the mash
Yes! This is how you do it! Great job, guys and dolls. Liked and subbed (as if that wasn't possible).

Vocals were a weird addition at first. But by the end I was into it. This cover/reimagining kicks ass. Keep it up
thanks :)
This is INSANELY GOOD. Vocals were well-done and a nice touch, especially the scatting.
Holy fuck, that girl's voice, omg, what was that? Fucking impressive.
Anetta do overtone singing.
Super awesome version :O! I´m really impressed
This is freakin' great!!! Really nice arrangement and excellent players all around!!

I’m lost for words, this makes me happy :)
it was a little two different to me. I wanted to hear all the different sections moved to jazz, but all they did was recreate the chorus riff basically
Yea I was not expecting vocals
Yeah, i think things should always be as obvious as they can be. No experimenting allowed!
All I'm saying is that it's not really a cover, but more of a remix. Don't call it what it's not :)

*THIS IS AWESOME!!!*
Made me smile the whole time! LOVE! Tears ....
Amazing!!! And at 4:16 singing a chord? Harmonizing to herself? Wow!
First heard it from Lalah Hathaway jamming with Snarky Puppy
Indeed. It's overtone singing Lalah's style :)
Overtones
ua-cam.com/video/VDQARLJvDzQ/v-deo.html I know it's not the same thing, but its similar - Bela Fleck - Live At the Quick (Audio only of a DVD)
Hoooooowwwwwwwwwwwww?!?!
I actually questioned whether this was Snarky Puppy or not once that section came up lmao
this looks like it was super fun to play hehehe
Not sure how you can do a cover of an instrumental song with vocals lol the chorus is really good tho
RIGHT! And say its jazz fusion?

Staggering brilliant musicianship as expected from Metaphump.
Not expecting this to happen, but what if you guys made another video for this without vocals? See which one draws more views
Is there an actual instrumental version of this?
Most masterfully transformative musical work I've ever witnessed so far. Very well done.
Wooooo fuuk, so great job! I love it!
Hey les gars, ouvrez un patreon, je suis sûr que beaucoup de gens serait prêt à payer pour voir plus de dingueries comme ça!
wow that chord singing!!
I don't know the original version, but I like the rapping and singing as well as the instrumental parts
Please say you’ve listened to it by now

Hit Like when I heard that first sax run...took my Like right back when I heard that first vocal.
Best video I've seen today
Everyone is such a baby about the vocals, I think this is perfect how it is
can we have an instrumental version please
There are so many compression artifacts during 3:26, and through out the whole song for the bass guitar
OMG i have to write myself music sheets for this soprano sax, i want to learn it!!!
