The Capital One Venture X is one of the VERY BEST luxury travel rewards credit cards available today. And in this video, I'll go over a brief Capital One Venture X review for 2023 and I'll also be going through the actual Capital One Venture X application process, where you can follow along as I actually apply for the card. While you may be asking yourself "is the Capital One Venture X worth it in 2023?", this video covers exactly why it is. With Capital One miles being worth about 2 cents per mile, this credit card brings a ton of value to the credit card market, and the Venture X really has some great travel partners including Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles and Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles to name a few.

I've been eyeing the Cap One Venture X for a while as well, love the ability to use the Card as a Keeper Card, as long as you use the Travel Credit & Bonus Miles. Great point about the Cap One Pre Approval only applying to the Regular Venture Card. Not sure if I'll be able to scoop it up in 2023, but definitely in 2024 at the latest. Hopefully this card doesn't have a refresh before I get it 😬. Congrats on the new card Josh!

Congrats on getting approved for Venture X. This has been a card that I have been debating on getting for a while at this point. I am deep in the chase eco-system, and like gathering points and perks all in one place, but one of these days I might pull the trigger. Overall, great video!

Let’s goooo Joshua! I just got the Venture X in November & it’s been a game changer for me. Glad you got approved man! I honestly should’ve tried out the pre-approval cause I was so stressed doing the application 😂 The card is clutch when it’s basically free & gives you some amazing travel perks. Hey thanks! Yeah, the Venture is nice but the Venture X is incredible. Keep in mind that you can still be eligible for the VX sign up bonus even if you have the regular Venture already.

After using the C1 pre-approval which I was approved for all cards but venture X, I decided to go for it, 2 months after getting denied. I got approved with a 10k limit, 730-750 credit score between all 3 credit bureaus. Do note though that I’ve had the quick silver card for almost 3 yrs now and I applied and got a credit line increase of a $100 on it earlier this morning

What income did you report ?
capital offers is really nice. If you click through to a store, put something in your cart but don't purchase it, capital one offers will likely send you a targeted elevated cash back offer, which can be like 20-30% back

I just apllied for the venture x card lastnight and got approved for 20k with a fico score of 771. I have most of their cards, savor one, regular quicksilver and a regular checking and savings account. For those wanting to know what annual income i added was 90k. Not sure if that matters but just wanted to add that in there. Also my credit history is fairly still new. Opened my first credit card here back in 2019

Nice bro I just got first credit card quicksilver after I use it for 6 months at least should I get the savorone or savor and then stay with it for a while then get the venture x what you think

I can say this, I would advise you to get the savor one credit card with no annual fee (verify to make sure that's the one with no annual fee) and try to maximize the card when you are going out to eat but make sure to set a limit so you are not overspending more than you can afford. For the venture x card, if you are planning on traveling once a year, could be a Southwest cheap flight, then I would recommend getting it after you have established a certain relationship with them. They have a pre-approval system that can verify if you are eligible for one of their cards. Make sure you don't have too many inquiries also. Good luck

if your score is over 730 and does not have lots of inquiries, I would say apply for Venture X. I have used the prequalification and was not shown the Venture X but applied straight to it and got approved.

This is a great card! Though, I can see this card getting nerfed: Loss of priority pass restaurant perks. The card also is probs going to require cardholders to spend a minimum spend per annual card renewal to receive the 10,000 point retention offer that’s given automatically each time the annual fee is paid. Those are just my thoughts for the future if this card.
It's certainly a possibility! Fingers crossed that none of those changes happen and we get to continue enjoying this card in its current state hahaha 🤞😐
Thanks. Can you do another video on your experience with venture so far. I read some really bad reviews about this card on the Capital one site. I am hesitant to apply. Already preapproved for Venture. I have also the chase Trifecta, but wanting branch out. I heard bad stories about credits not being posted on time, and customer service being bad, etc. with capital one. How was your experience the portal?
I'll be using the portal at some point, and will definitely document my experience with it. At the surface level, the portal seems great since it's powered by Hopper and they have a price match guarantee (you have to call in within 24 hours to get the price match). Signing up for priority pass and hertz status was really straightforward with capital one.
I'm really liking capital one's user interface. In my unboxing video for the Venture X, I talk about my experience with messaging capital one on instagram, and I was actually surprised with how responsive they are. I haven't had to reach out to them for any account related issues thus far, however. I've had great experiences with my Venture X virtual cards... I think it's really cool how you can make different virtual cards for different subscriptions.
Overall, the card provides way more value than the annual fee in my opinion, but I'll certainly be providing update videos.
@@joshua.butler thanks. I almost applied last night, and but wanted to wait. I am not sure about 2 points for everything. How does on justify it when they can get more points with chase? and the chase multiplier. It seems to be that one can rack up more points with chase, faster? Even for dining with Venture simply 2 points. Is it because simply the card is free as opposed to chase reserve is $250 after even the credits? I am just wondering, and I really like to hear why you wanted to switch to Venture and not stick with chase. As I said, I am looking to branch out and find a different trifecta. Waiting for Citi strata to hit the market as well.

I know this is late, but I would love to know if I have a solid chance of approval for the VX in your opinion. I have two credit cards (Discover & SavorOne), credit in Excellent range, and a high stable income. I would love to have this as my third, catch all card, to round out my CC set for now. Do you think I have a chance of approval? or should I apply for another card first?

Hey! If I am applying for this card as a college student about to graduate, can I put my monthly internship income * 12 as my total annual income? I am interning for 3 months this summer.
This is what Capital One states: "You may include personal income, which is income you have earned, including full-time, part-time, or seasonal jobs, self-employment, interest or dividends, retirement, and public assistance. You may also include shared income, which is money from somebody else that is regularly deposited into your individual account or into a joint account that person shares with you. If you are 21 or over, you may also include somebody else's income that is regularly used to pay your expenses."
Now, my interpretation of that is you can include internship pay, but only the actual income that you earn. Capital One CAN request proof of income where they may ask for your tax documents from the prior year or for recent pay stubs. Hope this helps.

I just applied savior one last week and am waiting a physical card. So I’m not qualified to apply venture X for next 6 months? My credit score is over 800 and I’m planning to book a flight ticket next month.
Yes, that's correct. Some people say they've been approved for the second card at the 5 month mark, but your mileage may vary. From what I've read, if you were to apply for the second card within that 6 month period, it would be auto rejected.
Can you make a video on a subject that ABSOLUTELY NOBODY is talking about?? Regarding the Amex Gold card in America than in México!! Same card different perks and benefits, please do a review or video on this subject, I promise you will be the only one talking about this concern, did you know in Mexico if you get the Amex gold card, you get priority pass and can bring up to 10 guests for free?? Unlimited times, that's just one of the many many perks, however the annual fee for the gold card in Mexico is $495USD! And here in America is $250

I applied for Venture X and get approved today. That's nice and I'm happy with that. Then I tried to set up the online access from the confirmation email. I failed.The message stated that the system could not find my SSN,name and birthday. I called the support line trying to find the solution. After talking to 4 people and spending 45 min., The last customer service rep. told me I have to wait until I receive the card in order to set up a online account. I am not sure is it true or not. But I'm frustrated on my first day dealing with Capital One.
First off, congrats on the approval! Your experience trying to set up an online account definitely sounds super frustrating. As you saw from this video, I was able to create an account immediately, even with no prior relationship with Capital One. From what I've read, this is usually how it goes. However, I've also read that some people DO have the experience that you went through and are told they need to wait until they get the card. I'm not exactly sure why this is. If I were in your shoes, I'd try to set up the online account again tomorrow. Let me know how you make out.

In your situation I would personally apply for the venture X first, and then apply for Bilt.
You can now get pre approved for the venture x all you have to do is click the venture x card

Yes, I use my Venture X for all kinds of purchases since it earns 2x miles per dollar. I like that it has purchase security, extended warranty protection, and return protection.

Hey Joshua, my credit score is above 725 on all 3 bureaus, Oldest account is 1 year 8 months old, Credit utilization under 13% --- my card with the highest credit limit is only 7K. every time I go to my capital one account i'm showing that I've been pre approved for the savor one credit card because because I've been a loyal customer for over a year now. I don't want to acquire the savor one tho, I really want this card !! should I wait until my score is better ?? I feel like since they pre-approved me for the savor one for being a loyal customer, I could also get approved for this venture x card but don't know what to do.. i did try the pre approval tool but wasn't approved for the venture card. - has anyone gotten approved with a score similar to mine ?? any suggestions??
If you’re not preapproved for the venture, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll be denied for the venture X. If I were in your shoes I would try to get my utilization a bit lower which should increase your score slightly. Your score is possibly high enough for this card, but it’s on the lower end. Having a number of hard inquiries can also cause a venture x denial. Another thing I would try is asking for a credit line increase on that $7k line of credit, but only if that issue does credit line increases with a soft pull. Unfortunately, capital one is really unpredictable with their venture X approvals.
What’s a score you think you need to apply
I’d want to have a minimum of 720 before applying, but it depends on your total credit history. Definitely check out the capital one pre-approval tool like I did in the video.
For data point, I was approved last month as well. Used pre-approval. My oldest card is almost 18 years old which happens to be C1 Quicksilver 1. Six credit cards. I had just applied for Hilton Aspire a week prior. $20K SL. 682 Equifax is what they pulled from.

@@johnniehenry5874 Yes. They send you a letter. Only reason it’s under 700 is because a collection showed up on my report in August. The automatic payment on one of our old bills had stopped. It was paid off after, but I was so mad. =\ I had over 800 score.
Venture x actually has a minimum of thirty thousand if I'm not mistaken
There’s data points out there of people getting starting limits below 30k.

I wish there was a UA-cam channel where people could go where the presenter had below average to bad credit. So they could actually know what people like us go through oh and they do not make over $80,000 a more a year. You know like average Americans
