Fuck yeah, brought back the beast-ass (it's a good thing, although a beast's ass may not sound good. it's like the dog's bollocks) intro! BTW Nick: Pretzel M&M's > Peanut Butter M&M's, they are delicious too though, brah Also, yall should play Death Duel for the Genesis. You get to shoot off robot dragon limbs with a laser mech. How could you NOT wanna play that?
You can still buy mini M&Ms in the baking section at most stores... in fact, those were there long before they were actually marketed as their own thing and sold in those tubes.
I can't believe you guys played 30 minutes of this, I would have drown myself in minis 30 minis into this. Which I'm sure had to have happened in a freak accident at some point at the Mars factory.
Hey man, Paul is right. Riesens are the fucking bomb. And do not underestimate the old-fashioned candies (toffee, butterscotch, salt water taffy, etc.), they've stuck around for a reason.
The screen goes to black at :25. Kept trying to pause at the right time to catch it, in case there was a hidden message. I guess the message is that having shell shock is like being in eternal darkness. Paul is a goddamn poet.
I knew I remembered correctly. The PC game looks better, sounds better, has better level design, and a much more forgiving progression of difficulty. Brings back memories.
I know. I played M&Ms: The Lost Formula all the time as a kid. My copy stopped working eventually, but it was awesome! This game is a straight up ripoff: it has worse graphics, it has FAR worse music (I remember loving the music from The Lost Formula), and it has a bad frame rate... I loved The Lost Formula, it was my favorite PC game as a kid. :)
On a slightly related note: Crash Bandicoot 1-3(and CTR) on PS1 are some of the greatest games of all time so you should play them on the show someday. I hope I don't get too sad when Josh game-over's them. :(
*Throughout driving segment* "Hmm... I'm getting a strange Crash Bandicoot vibe off of this..." *10:20* "... Oooooooooh." There were a few Crash clones out there, apparently. I also remember a Lilo and Stitch game that was pretty similar. Huh.
I popped my childhood copy of this in to my playstation to see if the controls were actually as hard and bad as Continue made them seem and I just didn't remember them being so crappy. They weren't.
Josh's hat threw me for a loop. You're not allowed to change or evolve as a person, Josh! Your concept belongs to the public! Also, on an unrelated note, if I take Josh's beard while he's sleeping, will I become the One True Josh and take his place on the couch like that movie we're all thinking of?
Hahaha man i really want some m&m minis, i swear the store up the road sells those tubes. I also want those white mystery skittles that came in the regular bag instead of lemon for a little bit. . Ah, late 90's / early 2000's candy :)
I had the PC version of this back in the day, and there was an "educational mode" tacked onto the levels where you had to complete math problems and shit.
its a shock that a game like Crash Bandicoot could be ripped off. From the very beginning the graphics were really advanced for PSone's capabilities and I feel Nick's utter shock that some third party bullshit would be able to rip off such a complex, and a-head-of-its-time, game like Crash Bandicoot. naughty dog thought of the idea to stretch polygons over polygons' cracks to render a clearer and more consistent model- I can't believe that a corporate entity would rip off this technology (eh... or maybe I can.)
Somewhere out there a kid saw Crash Bandicoot and went "Hey this is just like my M&M's game!"
"They're like the coins, in Sonic"...So close Paul...
1 Year later, and I still think about "YOU GOTTA DRINK EM" every time I see a pack of M&Ms.
2 years later and I still think that
I can tell you for a fact that Minis are still sold. They're at the checkout of pretty much every grocery store around my house.
I can confirm this as well. See them everywhere.
I work at a Wal-Mart and we sell them.
I can confirm that I can buy a pack of 24 for £37 ($63.36) on amazon ( which is not worth the money)
shame the same can't be said about Crispy M&M's
TheSuperGamefreak Dude, did they seriously discontinue them? Those are awesome!
Nothing like an ice cold glass of minis to end the day
DRINK EM! (TM)
Continue? DRINK EM DOWN
"R & R? Are we getting phased out?" I found that funny.
Mildly interesting fact: The same guy that plays Fry in Futurama plays the Red M&M. Once I heard it I couldn't unhear it.
This just blew my mind
At first, it was Jon Lovitz. I think that John Goodman was the yellow one at first, too.
My mind!
OH MY GOD HOW DID I NOT NOTICE!
Billy west
The _coins_ in _Sonic_.
I twitched a little.
Oh my god it's fucking Crash Candycoot.
I liked how you guys kept the ending in though it got really awkward hahaha - one of the best shows on YT imo :)
I love how they basically had their favourite candy tangentcast all over again this episode :D
When Josh says that his mom disowned him, he looks so serious...
it's cause Josh wouldn't accept Jerry as his new dad
is there any game world where josh DOESNT immediately dicide to kill himself?
Nothing can kill the Grimace!
Why has Naughty Dog not sued over how similar this game is to Crash Bandicoot.
Lol. Paul said "Coins from sonic".
I don't know if it's my absolute favorite candy of all time, but Airheads are up there. :-D
Airheads are basically inedible.
Airheads are awesome, don't let the Chocolate Elitist repress us!
Tristan Burgenener
Damn straight!
Fruit by the foot, not to be confused with fruit roll ups
You guys found Waldo? Holy shit!
OMG I stayed up late soooooo much playing this game .... loved it.
This has been your best episode in a while. Thanks for it.
"they're just like the coins in sonic" - Paul Ritchey
Thanks for the new video guys! I was feeling sad all day but your theme song put a smile onmy face for the first time today. I really appreciate it.
"like the coins in Sonic"
I wonder how many people will flip out about that...
Paul "Red Shell Sega Channel" Ritchey
"They're just like the coins in Sonic." - Paul Ritchey 2014
wasnt there a banned M and M commercial with the green M and M chick? about her being naked. or something?
APPROACHING SOUND BARRIER!
Move over, Sister !
I FOUND WALDO BUT WHERE IS JOSH!?!?
They still sell Mini's. I bought one yesterday.
A single mini? What'd that cost you, a fairy pube?
Continue? On second thought, a fairy pube seems pretty valuable.
Continue? Actually, two fairy pubes. Not that valuable here in Terabithia.
They still sell mini M&M's at a convinence store where I live. Also, I've seen them at Walmart and Targets in both Missouri, and Tennessee.
Fuck yeah, brought back the beast-ass (it's a good thing, although a beast's ass may not sound good. it's like the dog's bollocks) intro!
BTW Nick: Pretzel M&M's > Peanut Butter M&M's, they are delicious too though, brah

Also I have to say, it really doesn't get more PS1-y than this
Aristotle would agree that this is the true form for "Playstation 1 game"
Razzle dazzle
"You're really Red M&Ming me right now..."
Oh goddamn it, I love you Josh.
I can't believe you guys played 30 minutes of this, I would have drown myself in minis 30 minis into this. Which I'm sure had to have happened in a freak accident at some point at the Mars factory.
My favorite part of any episode of Continue? Is the rambling outros
This was my first game I ever had, a flood of memories are crashing into me.
My god, I remember this game.
I remember thinking it was just a driving game too, but I also remember the platforming not being all that spectacular.
I laughed so freaking hard at that outtro... you guys are crazy lol
When they were listing off candy old people eat I thought "I love all of those"
bought some m&m's minis yesterday. still as good as i remember.
Oh my god. That ending, I'm literally crying.
thx bby.
I can't freaking believe Josh mentioned Sen-Sens. What a weirdo obscure "candy". BTW I have a packet of them sitting on my dresser. No joke.
Almost googled Sen-Sens for the image insert, but wanted to remain blissfully unaware.
They basically taste like old man cologne mixed with dirt and licorice. Now that I've made a case for them, you should see if you can find some.
Thomas Edge Dude Tom. Yes. The first and final stage of making Sen-Sen's is just pouring Draino on licorice.
Josh
You hit the nail on the head. After looking around, the I found that the company that makes them shut down. #SENSENS4EVA
#RIPSENSENS
Fun Fact: The guy who voices Red also does Fry in Futurama and Stimpy
ohh my gawd how are you guys so funny,,,,,you guys just play videogames......and yet this is one of the best channels on youtube
I was trying to remember this game for the longest time. This is actually a bad port of the PC game M&Ms: The Lost Formula.
I knew I remembered correctly. The PC game looks better, sounds better, has better level design, and a much more forgiving progression of difficulty. Brings back memories.
It's still a bad imitation of crash bandicoot, they had no shame
Yeah that's right! I remember playing it is a kid.
We used to play that in my elementary computers class. Those were the days
Paul you literally listed every one of my favorite candy... all in order... i don't know how to feel about this.
Hey Continue? are you gonna have more crossover guest player type things in the future? cause that would be balls to the walls awesome :3
Yes! We're planning lots of stuff.
Continue?
Sweetness
As a cashier at a Pennsylvania Walmart, I can confirm that M&M'S minis are still made and sold.
im *amazed* at how quickly that game turned into a crash bandicoot replica
oh my god, I remember beating this when I was like 10. the nostalgia is strong with this one.
The grocery stores here still sell m&m minis. I wasn't aware that there were places in the country that didn't o.o
Fun fact: Billy West voices the Red M&M. Stimpy, Zoidberg, and Bugs in Space Jam are the same person as the red M&M.
You guys are hilarious
If this game had an equivalent of Slippery Climb from Crash Bandicoot, I think I would die
Holy shit this is just a straight up M&M-themes re-skin of Crash Bandicoot 2!
"They are just like the COINS in Sonic!" - Paul Ritchey
I don't recall seeing any COINS in Sonic. Only rings...
crash bandicoot still stands up today imo. i have my ps1 hooked up to a 40' LCD tv and it looks like shit, but the gameplay is still fun.
You can tell just by clicking on this video it was going to be a good episode.
Holy shit this is such a nostalgia overload. I've been trying to remember what this game was called and I could picture it in my head but holy fuck
Is that a new big white text?
"The boys get PTSD from Shell Shocked." Well played, sirs, very well played.
love watching videos on horrible games they're way funnier
Josh looked dead serious when he said his mom disowned him.
They absolutely still have Minis, I just had some within the last month or so. And you can trust me, because I'm also Josh.
I just had 'em in December. They're still sold. But I think the tubes are actually bigger now.
I like how one if them gasps almost every time they crash. It's like some traumatizing shit.
On a slightly related note: Crash Bandicoot 1-3(and CTR) on PS1 are some of the greatest games of all time so you should play them on the show someday. I hope I don't get too sad when Josh game-over's them. :(
They still make minis.
Yea, I don't know what the fuck Josh was talking about.
Continue? I was thinking I'm a grown ass man and eat big M&M's for breakfast like an adult!!!!!!
Josh
Continue? You are living every mans dream right there. Teach me your ways Josh.
*Throughout driving segment*
"Hmm... I'm getting a strange Crash Bandicoot vibe off of this..."
*10:20*
"... Oooooooooh."
There were a few Crash clones out there, apparently. I also remember a Lilo and Stitch game that was pretty similar. Huh.
I remember playing this game and it gets super hard later for no reason
I popped my childhood copy of this in to my playstation to see if the controls were actually as hard and bad as Continue made them seem and I just didn't remember them being so crappy. They weren't.
Josh's hat threw me for a loop. You're not allowed to change or evolve as a person, Josh! Your concept belongs to the public!

Orange Julius had the devil for a mascot for a while. Like literally satan.
The Phil Collins reference was ON point!
Shell shocked is from WW1, vietnam was where PTSD term originated. But I suppose they might have still called it that at some point during the war...
I like the new pretzel ones because they remind me of the crunchy that no longer in production. PB is my second fav though.
I'm actually eating Werther's Original right now. You guys made me feel old.
Still love this show though. It's totally unfuckwithable!
Wow, this is a by the paper rip off of Crash.
I love this game I remember playing in on PC when i was young.
Hahaha man i really want some m&m minis, i swear the store up the road sells those tubes.
I also want those white mystery skittles that came in the regular bag instead of lemon for a little bit.
.
Ah, late 90's / early 2000's candy :)
we had this game
its a carbon copy of Crash Bandicoot!!!
:-P
Props for The Burbs reference.
"You're really red-m&m'ing me right now." Troof.
I had the PC version of this back in the day, and there was an "educational mode" tacked onto the levels where you had to complete math problems and shit.
this is almost completely a crash 2 reskin, thats fucking nuts dude.
its a shock that a game like Crash Bandicoot could be ripped off.
I'm more shocked someone thought Crash Bandicoot was enjoyable enough to rip off
The first 3 games were great for their time- then naughty dog lost the license...
funny swearing 2:05
dang it Continue now i gotta find that commercial again
This was the first game I ever played on PS1. Weep for my childhood.
Actually they still sell minis everywhere. In chicago at least.
I had the PC version of this back in the day. The only difference was it made you solve math problems.
At first I thought it would have been the game Jerma985 played in a video called "Bargain Bin Beach Party"
So now i need this game to try the Crash Bandicoot clone section
I KNEW I DIDN'T MAKE THIS UP! I remember playing this as a kid...
My 5 year old daughter was watching this gameplay and said "Is that an M&M? ...Why is this a game?" She gets it.
