- Serbian is a South Slavic language spoken mainly in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, and Macedonia by about 9-10 million people. It is an official language of Serbia as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo, as well as being a recognized minority language in the countries of Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia as well as the independent Mouth Athos region of Greece. It is spoken not only in Serbia, but in many surrounding countries as well, though primarily in the geographical regions of Central and Southeastern Europe.

Beautiful language! Currently I'm learning Russian, but after I finished it, I'm definately gonna learn Serbian. It's sooo good. Anyways, love Srbija from Hungary 🇭🇺❤🇷🇸
How’s it going now?
@@neckdeeper well I still have to learn Russian for a long time, but I noticed something really interesting. I’m not really good at understanding Russian, I think they speak too fast and don’t articulate enough. On the other hand, I understand Serbian pretty well sometimes, because they speak quites slowly and clearly. And since I know some Russian, I understand some Serbian as well. So it is really interesting how sometimes I understand more Serbian than Russian

The Italian of Slavic languages ❤
exactly!
As a Bulgarian, I understood about 30-40%, got the general idea.
I think bulgarian is pretty similar to serbo croatian
@@stalker3839 The vocabulary is similar, but the grammar is very different. Written I can understand more, but spoken... not really. Just catching words here and there.
Nice info. thx
As a Serb, I don't know how Serbian sounds. But he certainly looks Russian, and someone said Greek too..
Idk I've just heard a video with the Czech language and honestly, Czech and Serbian sounds exactly the same to me as a complete foreign who doesn't speak any Slavic language 😅 But I find the sound of Slavic languages very appealing, especially Czech(Slovak) and Serbo-Croatian.
As a Greek I don't think it sounds like Greek but I think it's pretty nice and softer than Russian

Sounds like polish to me
Sounds like Russian but I understand nothing. When I listen to Ukranian I understand 70% .
Serbian very similar on Russian, I checked it)
I’m a fluent Russian speaker, and I didn’t understand anything (just a couple of words)
@@MaaanMaanMani am currently learning russian as a serbian and it is very similar to russian and even more similar to ukrainian you can type some ecamples in google translate you will see
Its barely similar to Russian.
@@hazmat.on.oilrig1580 bro, I’m fluent in Russian 😧 I understood only few words, but Serbian sounds very beautiful
Sounds as Belarusian and Polish. Zero Russian thanks to God

Sounds similar to Portuguese.
That's because Portuguese sounds kinda Slavic
@@proudream Nope. Portuguese sounds Latin.
@@narek323 Sounds super Slavic to me, sorry. So either you are saying that Serbian sounds Latin, or that Portuguese sounds Slavic. Pick one.
@@proudream The two statements you made are not equivalent at all. I said that Serbian sounds similar to Portuguese, I didn't say that Serbian sounds Latin (go back and re-read). Nor did I say that Portuguese sounds Slavic (you did). You're picking at straws here.
It is important to properly read and understand something before replying to it.
@@narek323 Yeah but you said Portuguese sounds Latin to you. So based on what you said, it is reasonable to say that Serbian sounds similar to a Romance language, to you. Logic 101.
