@lordtouchme3362 hey thank you for the kind words! I really hope it helps! This deck is all about how you handle the mid game. If you can sort that out you're good!
You've gotta great OPTCG channel going on. Subbed! Also, I've been trying to learn BB but I'm having a lot of trouble winning on the sim. What are your thoughts on the JP player ItsEnigmaaa's guide for this deck? I've been referencing it and just found your guide, as well, and they have a lot consistencies with each other. I'm well aware that BB is often referred to as one of the (if not THE) hardest deck to use right now, so I'm not expecting to be consistent with it so soon. Think I've only gotten 1 win so far on the SIM and that was against a Shanks player that rage quit lol.
Hey thank you! Really appreciate the kind words! I'll have to check out ItsEnigmaaa's guide sometime but I'll definitely bet there's a lot of overlap! The two biggest skills to master for blackbeard are when to use your leader ability. For instance against doffy it's immediate and other's you can get away with a little later. Also there are times late game when you can get away with not even using it but that's rare! And the second thing is you have to know what other decks play on their curve so you can plan out your removal. If for instance you know a seven cost is coming down setting up a doc q isn't useful because you'll need to use stronger and a finger pistol instead. That's the big reason people struggle with BB is because they aren't familiar enough with the decks they're playing in to. Also a rage quit is still a W my guy!!
@@thegoldstandardtcg Appreciate the advice! That's definitely something that's taking me awhile to understand as I just do quick join and it pits me against random leaders all the time. One of my main issues is utilizing Burgess. I can't seem to get into the rhythm of trashing enough cards fast enough or even finding Burgess in the first place. Or I have Burgess in hand, yet I spend too much time/resources removing the opp's board.
Oh yeah finding the right time to even play burgess is definitely an art! If you pitching for leader and hitting a few finger pistols along with just countering is usually enough. Maybe instead of quick join just play the same leader over and over until you get the rhythm of it. Like hit 10 Shanks rounds in a row!
Great Video as always and finally for Blackbeard 😁 Im fighting with the Decklist and I really like the consistency in the draw. I'm still not sure about Jack in the list. I see the advantage in the late game and in a mirror its two extra cards your opponent has to remove with Liberation. so your own Burges are a bit more safe. and in the late game you can remove a 3 cost yes but you need Laboon/Auger and the position to play it safe. Maybe combined with mansherry that can bring a labor back from trash. Downside is that she works against burges effect. Also I think Tempest Kick could be an alternative, it replaces itself and fills the trash and can be a -3 cost.
Hey thank you my guy! Really appreciate the kind words!! Yeah honestly I put this decklist together because I felt it was the most generic and still showcases what the deck is capable of. I'm 100% not sold on Jack. I agree that Mansherry works against the idea of the deck. I do like temptest kick and honestly I'm toying with the idea of the 9c Kaido that trashes a 7 cost. I think on the odd curve that could have insane value!
I completely agree but I've been running into this tactic a lot with doffy players right now. I think it's because it's still early in the release so they haven't really settled on different strategies yet and the main one they use is to get you to 0 life as quickly as possible to use Perfume Femur. They become sort of blinded by this and just swing at life hoping to get you in range at all costs.
Hey thank you kindly my guy! I'll definitely try to get more gameplays. In the meantime I'm working on a Shanks video that might help you beat shanks because it's a tough match up for BB!
@ReindeerDan yeah that's why I said I misplayed it. That was the plan! It was late at night and I read it wrong and for some reason thought it said +3. Really I'm not sure how I read it! 😅
@prettybad6858 absolutely! I'm making a Buggy video for this week because I wanted something light and fun and then next week I'm doing PB Luffy! So stay tuned!
hey can anyone help me out with the decision to not leader ability at 15:54? is that a mistake or is there a reason to not leader ability at that moment
Definitely using leader ability there makes victory guaranteed but I felt like I was so far ahead it didn't matter. I had shigan in hand and with doc I could remove anything. He would need a grav blade to do any real type of removal and stay in the game but then couldn't really play anything else. In that position I felt like it just didn't matter anymore!
Hahaha hat's actually exactly what I text my buddy the other day! He was like I don't know how to pronounce this and I said pretty sure it's Full o' lead like you got shot! Thanks for the confirmation!
@monoTNT hahaha bro no kidding! Another guy in here was using Kuzan as a replacement and if it sticks on the board that can work. Orlumbus is another than work but you have to ditch him at the end of the turn. Unfortunately Laboon is kinda expensive for a reason right now! It'll come down though. A lot of people will come off Blackbeard in the next few weeks.
@@thegoldstandardtcgproblem with kuzan is that no counter in hand and slow on board 🥲i like the new robin leader so ima throw less money to getting that to work cuz of the cards i have
@monoTNT I hear you! Yeah Kuzan just ain't the same! Nico is really fun! I played against 2 of them in our local tournament last night and they really suprised me!
Can you advise all the decks you want to go first against. Like most black i feel going second is always the plan, but B Doffy and P Luffy in particular, going first is big
Yeah so a simplified way to think about this is I usually go first against any ramp decks and aggro decks and then second against control decks. This isn't always the case but it's a pretty good rule of thumb. So B doffy, pluffy, bp luffy, pudding and basically any red decks that I suspect will be rush heavy I go first against. Then most black, green, and yellow decks I take second. Again this is super general as there are like 80 leaders in the game but this is a good place to start!
@thegoldstandardtcg what a G for responding. Going to my first 09 locals with BB after coming off 2 rotations of Lucci so want to be in a good spot. I'm using the same deck build as you anyway which also helps
@ConnorJG76 hahaha of course my guy! Hope it helps! Bro this deck is all about the mid game if you can keep up removal and get burgess down before your 10 beards you're good!
@thegoldstandardtcg yeah I even sometimes wait till the turn after just to have Jesus and even something else down just to help the long game if their board is a little flooded
Totally agree! I think you'll have a lot of success with this deck if you're already thinking about that. Patience is king with this one and I think a lot of people will give up on this leader because they'll gett frustrated in the mid game.
Saying that the stage has more advantage than the event searcher is because cards go back to the deck is plain wrong. When you bottom those cards in your deck, you are practically never seeing them again since there are no ways to shuffle the deck in one piece. The event also helps a lot with building up burgess and combos off with the new OP10 kuzan. The ideal curve is always going second to get to the 10 cast teach faster and helps with hand management since you will draw first. So many wrong tips in this video, its clear that you dont actually play blackbeard
More the point I'm trying to make there is you should be aware what each of them does and make a decision from there. Yes building up your trash is important but if you're looking for something in particular and discard your 10 beards that's a problem. As far as the ideal curve yeah BB prefers going second but not always. If you're playing into Pluffy or other ramp or aggro decks and the choice is yours you definitely take first and so knowing what your odd curve like is important. And finally how can you say I don't play it?! I played 3 games in this video! 😁
Ay bro I don't even play One Piece like that but I was at a house party with my friend and he had like 4 Decks so I gave it a try. Went 6-1 with Doflamingo and he told me how this deck was similar to Skill Drain from Yu gi oh and that's my favorite card. Gunna give it a try bro. But why tf is that blue whale 25 bucks a piece?
Hahaha 6-1 with doffy! Solid work! Bro the whale's expensive because everyone is trying to scoop em up right now! Give it a couple weeks and I think they'll settle down.
Itd be cool if we could rebuild our decks to be when attacking but blackbeard is black and has just as much removal as any other black dexk so your when attacking can never proc :) I think Laboon should be banned
Totally agree but I wasn't really saying that decks would be transitioning to this exclusively. I was more saying people are going to get creative and come up with interesting work arounds. For instance things like using the shut up and come event to play out a book chopper on their turn and then having access to his ability on your turn. Mostly I'm just excited to see what interesting things people cook up now that on play is not what it used to be or if there will even be enough Blackbeard players to actually have that dramatic an effect on the meta!
@ZaRpGamings oh duh that's right! Yeah not having counter is tough. Also not being able to reduce the turn you play it makes it hard because you have to hope it sticks around. I still think it's a decent substitution until the Laboons come down in price!
You can also use the pirate party axe hand Morgan even tho you get -3 cost instead of 4 you keep the counter. And since you don’t draw a card via kuzan’s effect it’s probably the best replacement for that overpriced whale.
I am using one legged soldier. 2k counter if u need, and -3 as activate main. Only downside is u lose that body and target for your opponent. The only other card i think of using is dressrosa orlumbus. He has also activate main -4. But u have to trash 2 top deck cards( which is not bad for Burgess) and u have to trash a dressrosa type on field. So u could use mansherry here. She brings back a 3-5cost from trash (burgess, Van Augur etc) and after that u can trash her for orlumbus. And since u doesnt have to rest him for that effect its also not bad.
Can’t believe you’re only at 800 subs, this has been one of my favorite Blackbeard guides by far! Subscribed and excited for more videos
Aww man thank you! This is a super nice thing to say! I really appreciate the support and hope future videos live up to the hype!

At 15:20 why would Doffy attack your leader and not your Doc or Laboon??? With that he could avoid getting his weevil K.O.d again

Why not k0 the sangoru instead of the rested zorojuuro and swing 6 at zoro to rip a card from hand since you were planning on playing 10c
I'm not sure where you're talking about. What's the timestamp? I assume it's because Van Augur reduces by 3 so I couldn't.
