Hi all! Hope you enjoyed this collaboration breakdown🧡 Here's my Media Kit Guide for anyone who is ready to get started working with brands: itsmodernmillie.samcart.com/products/media-kit-guide/
I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you. I came across your video out of whim and watched the entire thing. I was so inspired and hyped up afterwards that I decided to finally reach out to a company I had been wanting to collaborate with for years. I finally got the courage to do it and I now have a collaboration with them!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You have no idea how much this means to me and I am sooooo grateful for having come across your content! Keep up the amazing work, you're inspiring and changing lives!
I own a few brands and deal with this every day. 99.9% of 'influencers' are dreamers that have no clue how to correctly do a brand collaboration and most are too lazy thinking it is a quick pay day. Unfortunately these people ruin it for the few who do deliver value and act correctly. Thank you for sharing this video. The information is spot on and I'll be sure to forward it to those people who send me the standard '$20K for a post bro' messages.
Omg my gosh! It makes me cringe to hear horror stories from a brands perspective! Especially because I was one of those uneducated influencers in 2018 when I first started and I cringe at my past all the time! 😭 So happy this is helpful! (Stay away from those '20k for a post bro' people 😂😂😂)
YESS! So MANY! If YOU have to pay...🚩. If the email isn't from the brand (ex. it's yahoo.com or gmail.com and not @target.com) 🚩. If the brand doesn't want to sign a contract 🚩If they DM you saying "we want you to be an ambassador" 🚩
Millie, first off, thank you for this informative video. I love the way you explain things because it’s easy to comprehend. Now, I would love your feedback on this matter. I’ve just got a major beauty brand that reached out to me via email, wanting me to be an ambassador. They said it’s a paid collaboration and how much they’ll pay per post. They say once we sign a contract then they’ll send more information on the contact person. They said products they’ll send at no cost but will charge shipping due to international shipping and 50% of tax on the value of the products. It was sent from a gmail email. Does this sound legit or a scam to you? Do you suggest I ask them to send the contract over first before I weed them out? Thank you for your time 😊 -Bebe
I don't know if you have a video on this 😬 but video ideas: how do you create you team? What is the first part you outsourced /hired someone to do and how did you communicate what you were looking for? (What were you not looking for too!)
I would love to hear more about when to start seeking brand partnerships. (ie how many subs/views needed, etc)? I am a new creator with a very new YT channel and would like to start preparing mentally for this next step. Thank you for all of your free content!!! Your 12-month plan is how I got started and I couldn't be more grateful. Saving now for your UGC course. Thank you!
Really appreciate this info! Just starting that piece of our journey and it's a little intimidating. Also, hope everything is okay with you and you're having a beautiful day every day. 💛
This was awesome!!! One thing I’m so confused about is licensing. Most brands seem to just expect forever licensing and some don’t react well to only having a year license… Would love it if you made a video on this! ❤️❤️❤️
The negotiations can last for quite sometime, it depends on many things as you said! I find this video very insightful for influencer that don't have enough experience yet! 👍
Thanks Harry! Yes! I've talked to a brand back and forth for like two months before signing something and moving forward 😂 there was also a lot in that contract to go over so not all of them take that long
Yes! Noone ever talks about this! Thank you so much this is so helpful and interesting. I was always very curious about the official/business side of influencer marketing! Please make more of this! I swear I would watch a long video about taxes if you present it! 😄😻✨
Sooo funny story.. I came to your channel to search if you ever made a video about how to navigate through collab process and then I found this Gem!!! Thanks again Millie 🫶🏼
Thank you so much Millie 🙏🏼✨ can you create an updated video about paid colabs and another one of growing engagement with community pls? 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 thanks!
Hi Millie! Thanks so much for this video. Curious to know what your thoughts are on using tools like social bluebook that give you valuations for posts. When working with new brands, they often try to lowball an offer compared to what my valuations are on social bluebook. I don’t want to be greedy, but I also want to be savvy. Do you have any advice on how to work with a brand that is asking for a lot but not willing to pay what your valuations recommend?
As I look for paid opportunities and transition to more platforms, this advice will be super helpful moving forward. Ohh BTW I no sure how long this video was since your 7-day vlog video but whatever your doing in that gym keep it up Complements all around
The great thing with UA-cam is that you can come back as many times as you need!😎 ALSO...STAWWPPP. You're gassing me up right now!! I've been working hard so I'm happy to hear it's finally coming across 😭😂
Great video as usual! I have a question kinda unrelated. What is the difference between micro influencer and nano influencer? I feel like people have been interchanging them like they mean the same thing so I figured I should ask a pro !
Question…when doing a collab is it typical for the brand to require you to use their Amazon link instead of your own affiliate link? In the midst of my first deal and I just wasn’t sure if what’s typical. TIA
Thanks for this incredible explanation, actually i recently recieved an email for collab, they gave almost all of the details about the budget, the postings ... ., but one thing honestly i'm doubting about it which is they said that I have to pay 99.00USD levy. is this one of the procedures of the collab? or this is a scam? what do you advice me to do? thank you!
Hi just started my journey as a content creator thank you for your help.. my question is once I do that collab with the brand the video that I made should stay forever in my profile or if I want I can remove one day? Once the collaboration end for sure
Thank you Millie. In your IG account I've noticed that you've had a lot of posts showcasing different products, but not all of them are tagged as paid partnerships. Is it because not all of them were paid or? Thank you in advance!
Hi Steffi! Great question!! Sometimes they're paid, in which case I'll tag it saying 'paid'. But sometimes I just partner with a brand because I love them. Especially small businesses!
A brand reached out to me, but they wanted to send only free product and they also said they didn’t want for the product to be shown as Sponsored or anything like that…🤔
Super curious your take on this Millie- I had a brand reach out that wants to collab and pay in the form of clothing. They want to send me one set (on top and bottom) per month, in exchange for a couple posts in them, and that's the extent of it. They are not paying any dollar amount per post. They mentioned one of their conditions is that they prefer me to NOT post and tag or promote other competitor brands (so other workout clothing) which ok, is fair, but that completely limits me A LOT from financial gain on IG. A $100-$150 clothing set per month, that's my "payment." How would you politely go about suggesting that this is not sustainable financially and if they want such terms, ideally payments per post would be preferred as well? Sorry that was a long question. Thank you in advance! I'd truly appreciate anyone else's input too :)
You are worth more than $150 set of gym clothes. And for them to have an exclusivity clause is taking advantage of the creator. I would pass on this if you haven't already.
How would you respond to a small local brand that you’ve supported a handful of times for free already. Im in the process of building my own brand but don’t want to be rude. They just asked again. How would you handle this? Thanks in advance.
Hi @mordernmillie I used your perfect pitch technique & it got me an opportunity to get on call with the brand - I am so grateful for your helpful… also since it’s my first try I am but nervous on how to communicate further on the call Any suggestions?
I received first time an email from ofra comestic colab. Is it normal that they said i need only to pay 70$ for locator, they send me products and the payment is aranged. I come from germany. I said ok i am willing to pay via pay pal cause other payment apps are unknown to me and here in europe. I would love to send you screen shot maybe you can help me to see if it is real. I mean i would say it is real but it is my first colab email 😊
hey millie 🤍 can you explain a little more about ownership rights, and whether or not a brand can own the content you made to put on their ig ads (for example)
Did you sign a contract? Typically in the contract there’s a timeframe in which they NEED to pay you. You could always drop the term “legal team” when reaching out to them if they don’t reply. That’ll get them to reply FAST😂
