Beautiful knife man! The design and ergonomics are flawless, great job! The fit and finish of the whole kit, with the sheath and ferro rod are just incredible also. Great vid, review and demonstrations Mitch! Thanks for sharing👍👍
Hi Mitch, Lovely knife design. The Coke bottle handle was originally designed by Bob Loveless I believe. Ray Mears and Alan Wood popularised it more with the woodlore. It is a lovely design for a knife handle in my opinion. Thin blades and stout bevels do make a good combination. Sandy (Jacklore)
You’ve brought up points I’ve never even thought of as far as knife ergonomics. Great knife, great explanation. Also that dangler can be used as a small strop. Almost looks as though it can be opened, then reattached with just two layers of leather. This would make a small loop that can be placed on a branch, cordage, etc and stropped like a barbers strop. Use a small loop of cordage, as a larks head through remaining hole as a handle. Hope I’m making sense.
Mitch I've decided to buy your knife. I like your knife and I like your message "that you made that knife for us" I believe that message. My question is, I see your knife is available on Etsy, does it come with the sheath and the matching ferro rod? If not will that be something you have at the New England Bushcraft show on the 28th of April?
Great! It absolutely comes with the leather sheath yes. The NS FerroRod is sold seperately and is out of stock for right now, no date on restock at this time.
Well thought out, as per usual......both the knife design and the video. I can see a large change coming in the knife making world to the new "bevel horizon" hahaha. Well done Mitch!I love my NSK
Mitch, what would you do in a wilderness situation if you were to get your boots completely submerged during the cold winter months, as far as getting the boots dry again.
Man Mitch that is a beautiful knife. I'm gonna have to save my pennies for this one. The handle shape looks so comfortable, blade length is perfect. And I love O1 tool steel. Thanks for sharing man, take care.
Very smart bevel edge design brother, I like my Garberg cause of that. You can do everything ya need to with that edge I've had ZERO issues with mine. I've had those high grinds they suck, and simple branch knots destroys the edge.
Yeah love my carbon garberg as well. The garberg might not slice with quite the ease of a higher scandi but it's virtually impossible to chip or roll the edge, even without a micro bevel. Batoning hardwood and accidentally going through a knot won't even phase it.
hahaaha right on! thanks for choosing my blade to be your sharp in the swamp ; ) I know that feeling myself as i collect arcade games and when my wife finds out i bought a new one i get the look hahahaha
Mitch Mitchell 😂 Thanks for designing this excellent knife for me to be able to use 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I love puukkos and I love thinner blade stock. It’s hard to find a quality knife under 1/8. Never had a coke bottle handle. Looking forward to trying it out. I’ve only heard good things. My favorite knife at the moment is the Lagom also by LT. I have a feeling this is gonna give it a run for it’s money
The knife looks like it would be very comfortable in hand, I love simple tried and true designs like this. Btw, a saber grind is simply a partial flat grind, there are plenty of great saber and full flat grind bushcraft knives out there - and yes, they carve wood beautifully! The LT Wright Camp Muk and GNS knives are made in a saber grind versions and I own an LT Wright Genesis saber grind, it's one of my favorite belt knives. Their not 1/4" thick Kabars, lol???
Thinking about buying one. Only leaning towards the genesis due to the 1/8" thick blade. Prefer the shape of yours but not sure on the 3/32. Wish their was a thicker slightly longer version? But regardless its sweet and im probably gonna pull the trigger. Cheers brother. Been watching you for many years now.
I dont know how many of the people who use the knife specifically have small hands, but i imagine with the design specifically ergonomic its very comfortable for any hand size.
Mitch Mitchell I’m trying so hard to get the money up for this knife. I always love the way the thinner stock works for woodcraft. I’ve never been able to get a blade that didn’t roll on me though. I’m confident LTWK 01 will hold up💪🏻 Really great design man👏👏👏
Hey Mitch, are you going to sell the native survival knife again soon? I missed out on it in the past cause I didn't have funds but I do now and I would like to purchase one. Thank you. Lest (NYC)
We're hoping to have the next batch of 50 ready in 3 months, and the preorder will start 6 weeks before they ship, all details will be available on our instagram and facebook. thanks
Nice! We offer them on our website, they sell out fast usually and are periodocally restocked, keep an eye on my instagram or facebook for restock news.
I just checked the link and it's over $52 shipping to the uk which is not reasonable. Pity because I was thinking that I might buy it until I saw that.
Shipping is crazy these days, i feel your pain i had to pay $70 shipping to buy gear from Ray's shop not that long ago. If i went with a slower and cheaper option than usps priority then its not trackable and doesnt come with insurance and is more likely to be stolen along the way. Thanks though, sorry.
Hi there. Thanks for the very prompt and honest reply. I must admit I wrote the comment in a bit of a huff. I just realised LT wright charges $40 on an item that price so your rate is not that far off. There is so much good bushcraft kit that comes from the US but getting it over here is not that easy. Whereas stuff from other parts of the world seems easier and cheaper to ship.
Looks a nice knife, reminds me of my Ben Orford Woodlander. Like your 'bevel horizon' theory.. kind of kicks Dave Canterburys/ Shaun Kellys/ Self Reliance Outfitters knives in the nuts!! Ha!!
This is the best design for me! I would guess. I really want to buy one. Great the knife it is 01 high carbon tool steel. 1095 is like a budget steel that is presented as something great. It must be it is easy to get buy and easy to work for a knife maler. Of all the carbon steels I own 1095 is the worst performer.
"Puukko,," the traditional knife of the Finns for centuries, has a bevel 50% of height of blade or more - vs MORA and Brusletto with low saber like your wonderful knife - Scandinavian, unlike Finnish puukko (Finns not being Scandinavian). No ricasso on a "puukko." No trouble with puukko bevel since they usually come with secondary bevel, like most wood carver's knives. Guard interferes with carving, so absent on dedicated carving knives, like the classic Sloyd.
This knife is a Puukko, its a type of knife design like a Kukri; many companies in Sweden make Puukko knives, Mora being one of them. Your statement comes from a place of misunderstanding.
@@Nativesurvival No, I'm well informed. I know all about Puukkos. I've been using these knives for 30 plus years. I'm just saying, it reminds me of a Mora thats all.
I very much enjoy seeing your passion and your genuine personality you give us
Thanks
Well done. This review explains the reasonings for everything in the design. I just learned a lot about knives.
Great explanation of the details and the thought that went in to them.
Beautiful knife man! The design and ergonomics are flawless, great job! The fit and finish of the whole kit, with the sheath and ferro rod are just incredible also. Great vid, review and demonstrations Mitch! Thanks for sharing👍👍

Thanks for the clarification Sandy much appreciated; and the kind words as well ; )

Hey man. I watched you on alone and you did great. Cool to see you never give up!
Looks like and sounds like a very meticulous design.
Gorgeous
I️ own gen 1 and gen 2 and waiting for wood handle. Awesome blade
Well designed, well thought out, well made....well done.

Thanks Alan
I’m used to the first version of your knife. No doubt this new version would perform outstanding.

Ok watch your inventory go down by one on Etsy in 20 minutes!
hahaaha!
I learned so much from this video, very good explanation and demonstration of the qualities of this knife
Well thought out, as per usual......both the knife design and the video. I can see a large change coming in the knife making world to the new "bevel horizon" hahaha. Well done Mitch!I love my NSK
Thanks bro!
I prefer 01 as well...loving that knife!
One of my top three knives
Amazing honor, your collection of blades is incredible.
great design, you put some thinking behind this knife

Mitch, what would you do in a wilderness situation if you were to get your boots completely submerged during the cold winter months, as far as getting the boots dry again.
Very nice crafted knife well thought out.
Saber grind is on most KaBars. Some have full flat grinds as well
That's it yup Sabre grind. Thanks!
Sabre grind with a secondary bevel is what kabar uses I believe.
That's it yup Sabre grind. Thanks!
I love it!!
Awesome job designing it Mitch. I'll check it out.
Thanks, its available on our website.
Thanks for the great review, Mitch. Really breaks down the design.
Man Mitch that is a beautiful knife. I'm gonna have to save my pennies for this one. The handle shape looks so comfortable, blade length is perfect. And I love O1 tool steel. Thanks for sharing man, take care.
Thanks it was a labor of love.
It shows.
This is my official all time favorite Bushcraft belt knife, I will never go back to anything else. Miss your content, Hope all is well.
great design mitch looks like it would be a lot of fun in the woods
thanks

Beautiful knife. Ordering one soon
Thanks Nicholas
Real nice knife looks like a winner good luck with sales I am sure you will do great.
Thanks!
I may have just found my new knife! Thank you, Mitch!!
Well done on the knife design. Looks great too
Nice Knife and tool! All the best Mitch!
Thanks Sepp ; )
Just ordered mine to SC😀🎉🎉🎉 Can’t wait to take this thing to the swamp! I’ll be in the doghouse for a while over this one...

3/32” should be closer to 2.4mm right?
Yup inbetween 2 and 3mm, did I say 3 and 4? Oops good catch!

Gorgeous knife Mitch, going to try to get one!
Thanks!
Beautiful blade Mitch.
Where can we buy this knife and sheaf?
have some wood handle NSK at blade show!!!
Hello I have a question for you what type of microphone to film this video
Really nice man👍🏻 I like the thinner stock. I have small hands literally. I wear small size glove. Have you had anyone with small hands test it?
I dont know how many of the people who use the knife specifically have small hands, but i imagine with the design specifically ergonomic its very comfortable for any hand size.

Not in the forseeable future.
Very well considered knife, Mitch.
Thanks Mark
Mitch Man awesome job on the knife ... Wow is it ever nice ...
Thanks!
Very interesting video and a beautiful knife :)
Beautiful knife my friend would love to own one !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks bro!
Does O1 tool steel require oiling after every use or just when not in use like some tool steels?
No just every once in a while, i just wipe my blade on my pants before putting it back in my sheath when im in the woods.
Looks exactly the same as the mora companion but with premium materials
Very nice. Like that better than my GNS, buuuut can't own them all. Maybe one day:)
I purchased version one of your knife. What is the biggest design change in version 2?
Massive changes in the ergonomics of the handle.
I love version one and actually use it as my primary caver. I can only imagine what the version two is like. Are the version 2 available now?
Awesome glad you like it, yup its available right now.
Do you know when the next run of these will be
Were working on a date, perhaps 12 weeks.
Mitch Mitchell will you put up a notice or take pre orders
Will this knife be available for pre-order soon?
We're hoping to have the next batch of 50 ready in 3 months, and the preorder will start 6 weeks before they ship, all details will be available on our instagram and facebook.
thanks
Mitch how can we purchase this fine tool? Im sold!
Nice! We offer them on our website, they sell out fast usually and are periodocally restocked, keep an eye on my instagram or facebook for restock news.
Beauty!
How do I get one in Sweden? Do you know?
Do you have any of those knives in stock currently?
Apparently now defunct.
Very nice!!!!!
Thanks!
Reminds me of a Mora Companion on steroids

I just watched this vid, I'm glad somebody caught that thickness mistake
Nice!
beautiful
Looks a nice knife, reminds me of my Ben Orford Woodlander. Like your 'bevel horizon' theory.. kind of kicks Dave Canterburys/ Shaun Kellys/ Self Reliance Outfitters knives in the nuts!! Ha!!
Yup, I USED to own the PF1...USED to; now you know why hahaha
Can’t find this knife for sale anywhere,is there a reason for this??
Its actually 2.4 mm brother.
Obviously i missed the other comments.
This is the best design for me! I would guess. I really want to buy one. Great the knife it is 01 high carbon tool steel. 1095 is like a budget steel that is presented as something great. Never a secondary bevel on carving blades, Willie explained this well in his seminal book Swedish Carving Techniques.
i think $215.00 for O1 is too much
? Most O1 knives are $300-400 ; ) like Adventuresworn and Woodlore; this price is outstanding ; )
Sabre grind
Yup thats it, right on
That's one expensive Mora my friend!

*Is literally just a high end mora.*
High end is a big difference, I rather this USA made than a rat tang made in Sweden with cheaper steel.
