To anyone in the same boat, here is my story : Full thickness tear of supraspinitus , surgery was May 6, 2024. 3 direct anchors and 2 side anchors so 5 total. Sling for 6 weeks. So just out 7 months now. Did intensive rehab all summer 3x weekly with a PT, and home stretching and band work on days in between. Back to work in September. I have a moderate physical job but not much overhead work. Anyways, I am on my own now with PT and do a routine with stretching, bands, dowel rod extensions and TRX about 3-4 times a week. Back in the gym Im doing full pushups and can use 35 LB DBs for bench press and rows . Super happy with that. I will be in the 9-12 month range as Im still about 10 to 15 % away from full ROM reaching up and out and certain movements . SO this DOES take alot of time. These videos have been GREAT. It helped me alot especially early on ! Recovery is slow, 1-2% a week in my case, people you have to patient. I also learned a valuable lesson here in that I engage or "pack" the shoulder blades and focus on keeping the shoulder DOWN and EVEN with the other shoulder when doing band or light DB work like lateral raises. Best of luck to all on here and hang in there!

So, work with what you can do now. Keep doing that as often as your healthcare team advises and one day several weeks from now, you will be stronger! I've been working on it for about 6 weeks now and it's still hard, but the good news is after consistently working on it for all those weeks, its a lot stronger than it was.
Congratulations.🙏👍 I just had my shoulder surgery last Monday September 20 2021 in San Antonio Texas.had 5 dislocations before hope I will get better with time.and hope I don't get any dislocations anymore.
@Ruben Guerra that's a lot of dislocations! It sounds like surgery was the first step to stopping the dislocations. I can say recovery is long, but so far the benefits have outweighed any downside. I'm sure it will be that way for you as well. Stay positive and work hard, you will get there!
@@livelongerlivestronger today's my 9 day since surgery.how long did it took you to drive a vehicle again??
@@rubenguerra9473 I could drive with one hand right away, but I didn't. It took me until about Week 15 to start feeling comfortable enough to drive with two hands. Before that, I always felt that if I needed to use my involved shoulder/arm in an reactive way, it may compromise my repair. Fortunately, I have been in a position, I haven't had to drive.
