You are a true gardener…most people just film themselves planting new potted plants they purchased at a nursery. I love to see how you transform the wild into a beautiful space. Your rhododendrons are huge, crossing my fingers that the shrub thrives in its new home. Keep the videos coming, your place is the most beautiful peaceful garden , it is a real challenge to work on such slopes like you are doing.
Thank you so much 😊. Gardening on these slopes is a challenge mainly because it’s terribly wet and muddy. I’ve had a few slips and falls, no broken bones mind you, I cut any embarrassing moments out of the video. Thanks again for always taking the time to watch and comment, very much appreciated 🙏
Nothing like gardening on a large scale Sue! 😉 I think your Rhododendron is going to reward you for saving it. Because of you, I have ordered some Hellebores that are supposed to be hardy for my zone, and await their delivery around mid May. I never thought I would have any of these beauties, but decided to give them a try and fingers crossed they will survive our winters. At the age of 68, I find I just can’t stop trying new things in the garden!
That’s brilliant, even when we had a harsh winter in 2018 (we tend to remember bad winters here as they are so infrequent) the hellebores survived without a problem. Hopefully yours will too. You have a great attitude, to still want to try new plants no matter what age you are I very much admire that and agree with you wholeheartedly. Thanks for your continued support, it does spur me on to keep going 🙏😊
I'm behind watching this. Great job; that looked like a lot of hard work between cleaning out all the brambles, removing the Cherry Laurel, and removing, pruning and relocating the Rhododendron, but it's all going to be beautiful in the end! Thanks for sharing!
The worst job is the brambles, awful, I’ve been avoiding this area for years so it’s pretty much self inflicted. I should have tackled it a long time ago and I’m struggling to understand why I’ve never created a garden in this area before as it’s close enough to the house. The lower quarry has always appealed more I guess. Thanks again for watching 🙏
It wasn’t too bad digging it out but I was disappointed with how little of it remained. It’s definitely in the sick bay for now just hope it recovers in the spring. Thanks for watching 🙏😊
You make think that shrub is in the wrong place, but it is growing like it’s loving it life right there. 😂. But that area will be grand when you’re done. 😊
I know, I wouldn’t even attempt to try to dig it out. It was equivalent to removing a tree rather than a shrub. Must be all this rain, they just keep on growing. Thanks for watching 😊
