      Hello and welcome to my garden in Northumberland. White gardens appear to be particularly popular in the USA but they don’t have the same appeal here in the UK, something I hadn’t realised until I posted a white garden video on UA-cam. Thank you for watching and subscribing it’s very much appreciated 🙏😊

      Hopefully we are due for sunnier calmer times, the list of jobs to catch up on is growing daily. Thank you for the lovely comments appreciated as always 😊

    Such a delightful video Sue! I have similar conditions of clay soil and record amounts of rain, so I was fascinated by how you managed those conditions. I do love your white garden and Thalia is my favorite daffodil, I'm looking forward to seeing the changes you have planned. I had doublefile viburnums in quite a bit of shade here and they bloomed very well; I took them out last fall as they are now listed as invasive in our area - I still miss them though. Your spring garden is glorious! I love the way the bench is set among the trees and all of the textured underplanting. I am going to borrow your brilliant idea to use wire hanging pots to protect against rabbits - I have one in the fenced in area that is wreaking havoc on my Tiarellas and Heucheras. Always a pleasure to see what you're doing in your garden.😊

      Thank you Lynn 😊. These extreme changes in weather we all appear to be experiencing are becoming more and more frequent, I’m having to reconsider what I grow more closely as plants are failing too often now. Good spot with the Thalia daffodil, my favourite too. I wasn’t aware Viburnums are listed as invasive in some states in the US, I can only assume they produce more fruit for you and are spread more easily by birds, possibly. Mine rarely fruit. Wire hanging baskets, my saviour, anything that tends to be nibbled is covered. I’ve several huge ones too which cover big clumps of hostas until they’ve unfurled. Thanks for watching as always 🙏

      We’ve had less rain this week thankfully just need a few warmer days to dry out the soil. I’m sure everyone has the same problems this time of year, so many jobs but little time to do them. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🙏😊

    Hi Sue, I always think that you'd make a great garden presenter on t.v. This has to be the wettest winter/start of spring that I can ever remember. Because I'm so far behind in my own garden, I'm overdoing it on the odd dry day and I'm sure it's the same for you too. Now I need to do some pricking out as the seeds have enjoyed the slight rise in temperature. I Googled the white geranium as I've never seen one before. I really like it. Your garden is looking really lovely Sue.

      Hello, I was so woeful in the beginning. Standing alone talking to an iPhone on a tripod did not come easy to me. It’s definitely a generational thing, it’s part of life for kids today to take selfies with camera phones and post every aspect of life on to social media. Presentation is a new skill I’m acquiring the more videos I make, hopefully improving over time. Totally agree trying to cram so many jobs into the few dry days we have at the moment is a pain. I have so many big changes I want to make which are now on hold. Thanks as always for watching 😊

    So glad to see you back again, was starting to worry about you. Love your spring border, and the white garden is beautiful too. I hope all the planting in the bog garden will survive the flooding. Our snow is finally gone, and the bulbs have come up and the daffodil heads are developed but not quite to the open stage yet. It’s not been a very warm spring yet, and not very sunny either. Here’s to a new gardening year, cheers 🥂

      Hello, a bout of illness but getting back to normal now. That was a very long winter for you. We’ve had the opposite this year, I can’t remember a time when the ground froze and no snow to speak of just months of rain. I too can’t wait for sunshine ☀️. Thanks for watching as always 🙏

      The weather is always the first topic of conversation we have everyday here in the UK, it’s definitely an obsession we brits have. The one plus with all this rain is the primulas, I won’t be complaining when they are all in flower 😉. Thanks for watching 🙏

    Lovely, lovely! I've been wondering what you are up to. May I ask, what is the shrub to the left of your bench? It is also in the last shot with you saying goodbye.(to the left if viewing on the screen, to your right as you are looking at the camera) I think it is variegated.

    • @thequarrygardener5578
      @thequarrygardener5578  2 місяці тому

      Thank you. The shrub you refer to is a Rhododendron and the variety is Molten Gold, I picked this one to light up a dark area under deciduous trees. It is one of the best Rhododendron varieties for variegated leaves. Thanks for watching 🙏😊
