This one maybe be confusing (maybe it’s mentioned in this video I haven’t watched it yet) but Owen Hart. Yes he perfectly fit that New Generation Era as one of its few bright spots but other then that he never got to fully be a major star. The Attitude Era felt like it had passed Owen’s work rate with a more street fight style with a bigger focus on characters. I think Owen Hart on Smackdown in 2002 (obviously if he was still here RIP) would have been a perfect WWE Champion. Matches with Leasner, Edge, Angle, Rock, Benoit, Mysterio and Guerrero would have all been masterful to see. Another wrestler in that would have been a mega star in another era is Cody Rhodes. I just don't see him working anywhere that doesn't have him on top at all times. Also, Bret is one of the goats and I really enjoyed Punk matches. I'm just talking ego.
Counterpoint: Would CM Punk have defected to the Alliance as a WWF Traitor? And would he have lead that group better?
@@khaitranngoc4176 I wasn't watching at that time, but I think Punk could fit anywhere well if he could just work with other top guys
@@Jay-Kaizo A defecting CM Punk will give the Alliance more of a fighting chance against the raging power of Vince McMahon. Just the thought
I think New Day (all 3) would've fit in the Attitude Era, and they could've been heels for longer. New Day vs the TLC teams, Outlaws, APA etc. Slide em into Ruthless Agression vs the SD Six, WGTT, MNM etc.
So just the Nation of Domination?
They way too corny and not enough edgy for Attitude
wow another great list Adam well done 👏🏻👏🏻.
Dude you good... you do your own thing... and I like it
AJ Lee would’ve been even more AMAZING today!
Yes he has done so many great things like create AEW but imagine if he was where is now in the NWA. He would have been huge especially if he was a heel against Sting.
Waylon Mercy has to be an honorable mention for the current era. And Evil Doink would have been amazing in any other era, in my opinion.
Waylon would've been like Bray Wyatt in the current era, but Waylon would've thrived in the Attitude Era, with short matches and focusing on character and promos, lives were definitely gonna be in his hands there
What a great video. Thanks guys.
And if CM Punk was in another era, he would’ve probably gotten at least 1 Mania main event
Ivory's Table for 3 appearance alone blows most Ruthless Aggression-era divas out of the water
Rusev (with his look of 2015) in the golden era. Hogan getting up and hulking up with Rusev on his back during the accolade, leg drop and just like that you have a Wrestlemania main event
Rusev vs Sheik! Or Nikita Kolov or as team with any of them!
@@nolan555 omg the possibilities
braun or bray vs hulk Hogan main event WrestleMania
Cool idea for a list Adam great job
I would add Lita in the current era but I guess she was pretty successful in the attitude era as well
She would probably have done better now than back then
Really, you could say "any female wrestler who could wrestle well" would work better in the modern era. So much potential wasted on endless T&A.
Good work partsFUNknown.. Cheers!!
Awesome List.🔥
Good list Plumps 👍
This man, just sparked an imagination in me, Revival (FTR) vs The Brainbusters (Arn & Tully). Teachers (kinda) vs Students
i bet they sat down when they got to AEW and everyone named had a good cry that it can't ever happen. i would donate a stimmy to see that.
@@zachtaylor8222 Same here man
The Revival vs. Hart Foundation would make me a very happy man, I kid you not. Just the brilliance of it.
Also, Mantaur wrestled in the wrong generation. He deserves a 3-way WeeLC match against 'Swoggle and El Torito.
It's nice to see PFK taking on a more fantastical topic for a list
I've stopped watching wrestling (although I will probably watch Mania just for the heck of it), to the point that I didn't even watch the Royal Rumble this year for the first time since the mid-90's. A large part of it is actually to do with WrestleTalk, as I could no longer put up with the fawning over AEW, so I stopped watching the daily news and consequently just fell out of wrestling. But I'll tell you now, I will never, ever tire of the wonderful simplicity of Adam Blampied doing a list. The GOAT just doing his thing. Top man.
So wwe should have just let Dean Ambrose be Jon Moxley? Interesting 🤔.
Light sarcasm aside, imagine Moxley vs Mankind back in the attitude era. That would’ve been perhaps the most brutal wwe match ever.
I don’t know man. Maybe it’s just me but Ivory was drop dead gorgeous. What a killer body she had.
If OSW taught me anything recently, it's that we all need more Bull Nakano
Bret Hart at his peak would be at the absolute top if he wrestled today. I know he was around the top when he did but he got messed around a lot.
The top 2 champions in WWE are Roman and Lashley. You think a trim guy who does really good fundamentals would be at the absolute top today?
Bret vs Omega in a 1 hour Iron Man match...
@@Etherian87 that would be brilliant.
@@BrunoDiaz93 I think he would. Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston have been at the top in the past couple of years so I think Bret wouldn’t have a problem there.
@@mrkipling2201 Bryan and Kingston held the WWE title for 324 days between those two reigns. In that time there were 12 PPVs, 2 of which were main evented by Bryan. One was a non title match at Survivor Series, one was the eponymous match at Elimination Chamber where there wasnt a Universal Title match.
They did hold the top belt, but sadly, they weren't the top guys at all.
I died of laughter at the "over like rover" and showing Conrad
The 80's ladies tag team the jumping bomb angels today era. They was a amazing. A head of their time.
"The Great Khali - Golden Era"
My brain for no reason: Giant Gonzales vs Great Khali
Me: *Adam, you're starting to scare me!*
The match with the speed of a mountain
That would somehow be slower than Undertaker vs. Underfaker at SummerSlam 1994.
@@francosecchi8101 that match would be less technical and more like they're trying to fight off invisible wasps.
This is quite the list. I loved your take on Shamrock and Kong.
I'm just glad adam does this !!!
Malenko would've been a mid carder today just like cesaro, drew gulak and so many other great workers
Most of the awful giants from the 90s onwards like Khali and Giant Gonzalez would have been huge (no pun intended) if they were just booked during the 70s and 80s
I love this!!! Also third!! I would like to say that it would have been better if Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit had wrestled in the current era rather than when they did as this is the era of technical geniuses that aren't as beefy and when they have protocols in place to protect the wrestlers today from the heart disease and the concussion protocol. And sure, they and how they died were the reason these protocols were added, I just wish this is when they wrestled because then their size might not have made such a difference and they wouldn't have taken steroids or did moves like the diving headbutt to get pushes from creative.
Love the videos. It would be interesting to see a list of greatest face turns.
Damn you killed this list I love it 💯💯
I don't know why but this is one of my absolute favorite PFK lists. Maybe its just how positive the list is but man I love this one
Do best match endings. My vote Stone Cold v Shawn Michaels. Those reversals, that Tyson 3 count, JR's it all happened so fast it's like one continuous POP!
More list's Adam. This is your birthright.
Punk would have problems even in the AE because it wasn't the problem at all he was perfect in the era he was in its just that when the company you work for and its two major high ranking people dislike you like Triple H and Shawn you can't do anything about it regardless of the era....its the reason why i will never like those 2 because of all the ego and politics they did to make others lifes miserable
@Zedrik Allen the more pissed off he, CM Punk, is the more content he can deliver in the pipebombs. Well said Zedrik.
tbf if begin to work in WWE in 95-96 (just 1-2 year before AE) and became successful, HHH couldn't do anything because he was punished after Madison Square Garden accident
Adam doing wrestling lists, this feels right
1. Dean Ambrose/Moxley - The Original ECW. Mox looks charismatic by today's standards but he would have been a decent guy in attitude era but they would have loved him in ECW.
2. There is one guy who would be a hit in any era - WALTER!
Great video
Everytime i see Pillman, I immediately think to myself: the Kurt Cobain of wrestling. Both gifted beyond their years.
I hope they are both doing ok up there 🙏
Umaga in the new generation era just imagine this big samoan guy appear out of nowhere and demolish bret hart or shawn michaels while celebrating a victory and also imagine the commentary
“Merry go round of ground and pound.” So good 😂
Chad Gable should’ve been in the ruthless aggression era, imagine team angle as a full on stable
Man... I can picture chad gable facing benoit or Guerrero in a main event of smackdown during that era. I wish he was born about 10 years earlier, he would have thrived.
You could make the Smackdown Six into the Smackdown Seven without missing a beat
@@MultiClassGeek yup
I could see him more as team Angle’s cruiserweight.
You could even have an all the gold moment
WGTT with the tag belts
Gable with the Cruiserweight Title
And Angle with the WWE Championship
Please do a part 2
Jon Moxley vs. Cactus Jack (honestly any one of Mick Foley’s personalities) is a dream match for anyone tbh.
Imagining Great Khali in the Golden Era is honestly making me less upset about him going into the hall of fame
Madness for not picking the obvious option of Walter in perhaps ANY era of wrestling.
I would like WALTER in the 70s
Imagine WALTER vs Sammartino
Or
WALTER in the 50s
Get that residual WW2 heat.
THE WAR-VIKING-RAIDERS-MACHINE.
I’M DEAD
He forgot the best part...Experience.
Man it's really a shame to see how far Storwman has fallen in our eyes. I remember in 2017 he was legit my favourite wrestler just because of that Roman feud
This video helped me appreciate The Great Khali a little bit more.
I actually would’ve loved to see CM Punk in the late 70s/early 80s NWA era. Travelling champ doing 60 minute matches sort of thing.
1. Enzo & Cass in the Attitude era,Enzo vs Road dogg on the Mike would have been money.
2. Bayley V1 in the golden era,Wendi ritcher's heir apparent
3.NiA jax-new generation would've replaced monster rippper/Bertha Faye against Alundra Blaze
4. Otis would be a nephew to Hillbilly Jim in The Golden Era
Just imagine, 1995-1997 Braun Strowman doing damage around the WWE with JR's commentary? He would've brought in the big bucks.
Very very good list
Love how you defined the new generation era
Only wish you swapped Aja and Ivory
Dean Malenko vs Minoru Suzuki
I would die to see this match
