I know this video is 2 years old, but I just found it. You inspired me to use my large bead collection to create some bracelets and necklaces. Thank you very much. I'm now an avid crocheter, so I'll be able to combine both of them. God bless.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and are going to make some of your own!! I would love to see your projects. Thank you again 😊💖
No worries🎉I created my first pieces. ❤❤
Beautiful piece! I love how you crocheted behind the big beads.
Thank you! And thanks for watching and commenting! 😋
Thank you so much for all of the details. My mother used to make jewelry with gold thread when I was younger and I want to start doing it
Sorry for the delay in responding! And thank you for watching & commenting!!
Wow you just gave me an idea. I bought some years ago on a huge spool and havent used it yet. I planned on sewing with it but never did. I wonder if its strong enough
I love the beads you chose. Thank you for sharing . Great video
Thank you for watching and commenting!! I’d love to see what you make!! 😃❤️
Great tips, especially when you add a longer bead and you crochet along the strand behind it, it looks more professional. Thank you.
Thank you for watching and your comments. I hope you enjoy making some wrap jewelry! 😃
😊❤❤
I like how you have just one of a kind beads for that . I have so many pretty beads that are one of a kind . So this is a perfect example for a necklace design . Thank you for sharing this design with us .😊😍💖
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching and commenting 😃💖
OMG this is so lovely. I have been crocheting my whole life and never learnt this, thank you.

The hardest part is finding beads with holes large enough to do this!
So true! Lol 😃
Starting @17:27 ish - thank you showing and explaining the how and who if stitch behind and let dangle!💝💝💝 And 21:07 the on!💐
And thank you for watching! 😃💖
great instruction, going around a large bead - priceless. Thank you!
Thanks! And thank you for watching and commenting too. Show me what you create!! I love to see and am always inspired 😊
Love the colors used. I’ve made a few of these but my yarn is thicker and I have a hard rime finding beads with large enough holes.
It’s always a task finding beads! But a fun one too 😊 Thanks for watching and commenting. I’d love to see your projects!
@@LindaLeeBarnum yes maybe your cord is thinner. I get mine at wallmart. It’s a lighter beige. Is yours the stiff kind? Maybe I saw it there.
Excellent instruction. Soothing to watch 😊
Beautiful result

This gives me a lot of inspiration. I recently moved into a senior apt Bldg and joined the Crochet Knit Club now I’m learning to crochet bracelets but I have a big box of ephemera which I’d like to incorporate into “repurpose” necklaces. I will definitely crochet them. I hadn’t considered adding the lobster claw but it makes sense to. My two little grand nieces in NJ will get these for Xmas (I’m in MN). Thanks!
Thank you! And thank you for watching and commenting 😃❤️
Fantastic piece! Trying to jump into this end of the pool but crocheting scares me…. Not sure why as I can knit! Love seeing the many sizes and textures! 💕. Thanks for sharing your talent!
LOL the more you do it the more natural it will feel! I struggle with knitting 🤣 thanks for watching and commenting!!
Charming design
Thank you! This is one of my favorite projects 😊

Hello, new friend here. 😊
Hello 😊 thank you for watching and commenting!
Thanks for such a great tutorial. What size is your crochet hook?
It’s a tiny one! I think a No.7
Before you start to crochet how long was the bead strand. Great necklace. I’m going to try this.
Sorry for the delay in responding! I had about 14 inches worth of beads loaded. It’s always good to have more than you need but more can always be added if you find you want your project longer. You just need to cut your cord and be sure you leave yourself enough cord for your desired length. You will get a feel for it if you do it a few times 😋 enjoy the process and let me know how you did!!
where did you find the 1.5mm s-lon?
I found it at a local bead shop here in Naples. But I have found it on Amazon too when I wanted a color the shop didn’t have. You can also search for C-Lon it’s the same item; the spool is a little different in size. And thank you for watching 😃
What kind of thread are you using or do you suggest using?
I use S-Lon thread or cord.
C-Lon is almost the same but different size spool. The crochet needle is a size 7 😊
What kind of beading thread you use and where can I find it?
It’s called C-Lon. It’s usually found in most bead shops or craft stores or even Amazon if you don’t have any place close to you to go look. Thank you for watching!
What size crochet hook are you using?
It says US 7/1.5 MM
Hi, how you end the necklace, minute 22:37 it’s not clear, I don’t know those twist you made for the ending
Hi! Sorry for delay! I simply pulled the end through the crochet loop and tied a knot. Have you made one yet? 😋
Did you have to string these on ahead of time or as you go?
I’m not sure how you would be able to crochet the beads onto the string without threading them first.
What size crochet hook do you suggest using?
It says US 7/1.5 MM
Btw Thanks for watching!
What size of needle did you use?
The one I use is a size 7. Thank you for watching 😋
What’s the thread called like? I just can’t seem to find it in any store :( maybe if I search it on Amazon. Does anyone know the name of it?
C-Lon Bead Cord, Antique Brown - 92 Yard Spool a.co/d/eL4fuLv
C-Lone or S-Lone both will work 😊
@@LindaLeeBarnumTHANK YOU SO MUCH ❤ this tutorial really is helpful. Once I buy the thread I’ll definitely try this. Sending lots of love and luck to you girly 🤍
@@karlaczc Thank you and to you too! 😃💖
Just FYI the word is “taut”. There is no “n” in it. Any chance youre from PA? My husbands and his Dad pronounced it that way too till I pointed it out. Hope you don’t mind the correction. I always appreciate it when people help me if I’m saying something wrong.
taut
/tôt/
adjective
stretched or pulled tight; not slack.
Anyway. Great video… thanks!
Yes! I realized I said it wrong when I listened back but I was new to editing and wasn’t going to re-record. It isn’t the only verbal fumble I’ve made 😋 Thank you for watching and commenting!
Btw I’m from Western New York 😊
Wow looks like you took my exact tutorial and taught it for free right here. Not cool.
Hi Robin. I’ve taken inspiration from many artists across this platform. (Especially a crocheting Romanian lady that doesn’t speak English) Yes, you have influenced this project and others in the junk journal realm. Your tutorial is so much more than what I’ve shared here. Like all of my videos, I’m simply sharing as I work. This piece is for my cousin. Thank you for sharing your talent and knowledge. For anyone interested all of Robins tutorials www.artsybohemian.com/?fbclid=IwAR3ffZ2K_Gf1PcIPcbq0Exdte98qkxunJpHxhWph5Zbk9hyJTRfiO7MaVTQ_aem_AWuEQTDAL72HoD9bmmt7QGgPLT93jZrCtB0ElpG53wm4EX9_aY3jGw0L1sIiJBQmlmk
Linda, You have taken more than inspiration and you know it. You purchased my crochet class 4/22/20 and 4 months later your sharing exactly what you learned in my class! Really? The words I use, my design techniques, the exact verbiage , the exact amount of odd numbered beads that I recommend, the different sizes and shapes, the
"bridge" technique, the burning technique and explanations I use to teach this class are all used in this video. The right thing for you to do is remove the video with in the next 24 hours. You may not realize that this is how I make a living and it's my full time job. I pay my bills with the revenue I make from my small business and when you teach my techniques you are taking away potential income from me. I specifically say in my class that you are NOT allowed to teach my technique for free or for a fee. You MAY make as many pieces of jewelry to sell as you like but not teach it. And the worst thing is you don't even give me credit. And you are not just sharing, you are doing a step by step tutorial. If you were just sharing you wouldn't be showing how to make the necklace. Most all the comments thank you for showing how to make this piece. I think you know the right thing to do is to remove this video.
I don’t think that you can say that your entire technique is unique to you. I’ve been melting beeswax on cord for almost a decade. Look on my In The Sun Creations Facebook Page. The wrap bracelets I’ve made with leather use that same technique long before I took your class, 2014 vs 2020. Odd numbers are not a unique idea either. Every artist knows odd numbers create visual interest. You can see my use of odd numbers and similar grouping in photos of my memory wire bracelets - as well as varying shapes and sizes - dating back again to 2014. Rather than continuing, I have already added your entire tutorial link to this conversation. I will do the same in the description.
