This bracelet is made using micro-macrame, and features a variety of one-holed beads. It's the perfect accessory and is sure to add a touch of style to any outfit!
    1. Gather up some cord and a variety of Czech beads, Toho seed beads and Miyuki Sharp Triangles. Think about how many beads you want to use and how much space you want between beads. If you leave about 1/4inch in between you will need about 5 feet of cord to make a 12 inch bracelet. About 10 feet of cord will make a bracelet that can wrap around 3 times.
    2. Put a button on the end of the cord to start, leaving one long end and one short end. You can wrap it twice to make it more secure. Use some superglue on the end of the cord to keep it from fraying. Watch the tutorial to learn the super simple knotting technique used in this yoga beads bracelet.
    3. This knotting technique is very versatile and can be used with many different beads. Try wearing it as a bracelet or a necklace!
    Beaded bracelets are a fun and easy way to add a little bit of personality to your yoga practice. Beaded bracelets are often given as gifts to loved ones as a way to show your support and encouragement. Making your own yoga wrap bracelet is easy with a little help from PotomacBeads. Love this easy way to use up some of my stash. Suggestions: if you have one, use a Kumihimo bobbin to hold the long tail of thread. Also, use a spring bead stop instead of tying a know at the end of the short thread to hold your beads in place and give weight to that thread.

      @@Potomacbeadco I'm working on the bracelet in the above video now. Thank you for your very clear instructions. I'm still getting used to this knot. It's deceptively easy, but like so many knots, the trick is how you pull it together at the end, so it lays correctly. I'm getting the hang of it. This is a really fun project!

    Thank you for the great ideas! I made this starting with 20 feet just in case and I barely had enough for a 5 wraps. I think it depends on size of beads, tension, and how many knots you make of course in between each set of beads. I thought I would let you know... I think starting with 20 feet or even a little more is better than running out of cord. I did use the same type that is listed in the video.

    • @alliebuchman10
      @alliebuchman10 4 роки тому +2

      Thanks Mylene for letting others know. It totally does depend on the amount of knots you do as well as the size of the beads. The more knots and also smaller beads, will require more thread.

    Help! I'm finally getting to this lovely project. I still have one wrap to go, and I am running out of thread on the short thread side. How do I add thread when the bead holes are too small to put S-Lon through twice?

    Beautiful bracelet. Can you tell me what size buttons to order? I ordered some beautiful Buffalo head buttons but when they came, they were smaller than a dime. I was so disappointed. 🙁 Please help, I have so many sizes of thread, beads, and leather and can do mostly nothing with them.

    Does anyone know how she got the Short Side measurement?

    • @Potomacbeadco
      @Potomacbeadco  Рік тому

      Before you begin this project, you will need to figure out how long to cut your Cord. Begin by deciding what length you would like each strand to be, as well as the number of times you would like the finished bracelet to wrap around your wrist. For example: To create a bracelet for a wrist size of 6.75” that will wrap six times around you will need 40.5“ of the finished bracelet (6.75” x 6 = 40.5“). You will use about 5 feet of Cord (on the knotting side) for each 12-Inches of finished bracelet. Next figure out the number of feet required to make a 40.5” bracelet. For this measurement divide the finished length of bracelet by 12 inches (40.5” ÷ 12“ = 3.375). This length of the Cord will also need to include the amount of thread needed to string the beads on, which will be about 6” longer than the finished bracelet. To figure out the total length of S-Lon required (3.375’ x 5’ = 16.87’) in addition to (3.375’ + .5’= 3.87’) is approximately 22-Feet of Cord.

      As I understand it, same type/size of cord, different manufacturer/brand of upholstery thread. Essentially they are the same, as they are made to standardized specifications in the textile industry. PS, there are different weights/thicknesses available, so be sure to get the weight Allie used (Tex 210) if you want the same look. I think it's the one that comes on a 77 yard spool.
