I kinda love how Reclusa is basically completely different from other villains like him in the series. Most villains that get summoned or reawakened usually only serve as the final boss and doesn’t actually get time to be a villain. (Shadow Queen for example) Reclusa actually gets their own slice of the story to be the villain in. We actually see how Reclusa ends worlds instead of being only told that it’s gonna happen.
I love how personal Reclusa makes things for the brothers later on. Dude really tried getting under their skin more than other Mario and Luigi villains.
I really love it. A lot of Mario villains are all talk and never actually do anything except look scary and have cool music. This guy puts his money where his mouth is and I respect that.
aaaa we finally made it!! Reclusa's arrival was one of my most anticipated moments of this playthrough, I love him so so much. With how great his design is, his fun personality, his lore, and the way he gets things done, he's easily become like a top 3 Mario villain for me. I think he just barely gets beat by Bowser and Fawful but it's really close between the three. Very excited to see how the rest of the playthrough plays out, especially with the final dungeon section!
34:34 honestly, Zokket not having his own theme is probably the worst thing in the game. Would have gone a long way of making you believe that this is actually the final boss. It sucks to, because, not only is he the main villain of the game, but his fight is also one of the best in the game. At least the main boss theme is really good
@xreamed my point was that I hate the game. I've played it roughly three times, but the last of which was a playthrough where I performed every possible glitch to see what would happen. My 3DS was nearly ruined, but I think mostly positively about the game because my friend group jokes a lot about how much I hate it, and also we now have a very broken save file to play around with.
@@xreamed I feel positively about it because breaking it to pieces was the most fun thing I've ever done on any system. And I'm still having fun with it today.
The main antagonist has three generals who keep getting beaten up by the protagonists, wants to cause the rebirth of a greater threat, and shoots magical orbs during his boss fight? That's just Hyness from Kirby Star Allies.
1) Can't believe those cowards at Nintendo forced Zokket back into the closet just because he was "brainwashed," smh. 🙄 2) Dimentio: Finally, a worthy opponent! Our battle will be legendary!
@@MarioSonic46I have, and he only does it when he's in glohm mode. The number of counterattacks he does is proportional to the number of times he was hit. So if Bomb Derby was used, he'd have 12 counterattacks assuming you got an excellent. On the other hand, something like Jump Helmet will only get one counterattack, since it's only one hit. When he's in glohm mode, try to do big single hits to minimize the number of counterattacks.
not sure if anyone else has said this but the tell for Zokket throwing the orbs is that he throws it with the hand on the same side as the respective brother.
58:38 Certainly not a co-oinkidence there's a meta interpretation between King Olly hating Toads and Reclusa being delusional. Maybe IGN and some others can ask Reclusa for a perfect game for themselves.
It's based on how many times you hit him with the previous attack. So... don't use Yoo Who Cannon or Clockout Blow, otherwise you're going to regret it.
I honestly first thought that he just stops when you either get hit, or dodged him like 15 times. Although I think how they did it is even better. Gives the bossfight more depth
The plug that prevents you to heal should've been a bigger punishment Not only is the damage output of the punishment way too low, but the Heal after max turns plug (I forgot the name) still works, so I ultimately cheesed it way too easily
The later dungeons in this game are fantastic. Both this and Wayaway Island were definitely highlights for me. Same deal with the bosses. The later boss fights stand as some of the greatest in the entire series. Also, I kind of appreciated that the game didn't just end at Fortress Zokket. It gives Reclusa much more of a chance to shine, which is great because he ended up being one of my favorite Mario & Luigi villains.
I am 100% sure that that hand attack, where he shoots out lightning, from Zokket is a reference to the Cacletta bossfight is. In his Glohm form it's even more apparent
35:00 I love this game, but if I had to name any flaws, music variety would DEFINITELY top the list. Bosses like Bowser and Zokket should have their themes. The BIS remake actually did add unique boss themes to important fights, so it's disappointing to see the series regress here.
I feel like I'm the only one who thinks that Zokket should have had a Glohm explosion before he dies. Like the dark star or some Glohm enemies in the game. Would have been pretty cool
Lmfao I was trying to decide if it was too spoilery or not since everyone knows he exists and is a villain based on the reveal trailer. So I decided to flip him in reference to his counterattack move. I have A/B testing on so idk if upside-down Zokket will end up as the final one though.

Zokket/Cozette is definitely going to be an unofficial Genderfluid icon.
