Andy I just wanted to say I'm older than you and worked mom and pop companies and larger companies as well. Every place had a forklift and every forklift I have ever driven had a a torch blown hole in the forks. No one was ever hurt or even scratched. Some people will bitch about anything and everything. 😊
I'd have to say every forklift I've seen in Western Pennsylvania in eastern Ohio has a whole burnt in one or the other of the forks in order to drop a drawbar pin in. And like you I've never seen anybody get hurt with that arrangement
I’ve been redoing a old 1997 dodge 2500 farm truck. Has the diesel and I believe every seal, gasket on the truck was leaking. Bought it about five months ago and when weathers bad or I have a little time been putting the wrenches to it. Started with a clean pair of coveralls and washed them twice after the first two days. I gave up on doing that and they now hang next to the greasy pig and I said I’m just throwing them away when I get the truck done. If you ain’t dirty you ain’t working.
Andy I can't believe that you told people to soak the takened a part cylinder in wet water everybody knows to use DRY water so it want rust !!!!! Great video !!!
Love all your videos, I'm retired on the west coast now, former Skaneateles resident, and helping a friend on dry land wheat farm in eastern WA. I enjoy all your information as it is all real world stuff. Keep them coming!
I’ll tell you one thing you earn them bush lights you’re a hard-working man I am 68 years old boy I used to work like that too and I enjoyed it now I got arthritis and we just found out that I have cancer and I miss working on the farmI’d give anything to have a little farm garb driving tractor stuff keep giving her hell buddy
You are now a Clark High-lo master mechanic…Me personally would have struggled and taken all 4 out of the top before it dawned on me to go out the bottom…That’s how I roll…The hard way is the only way..Lol..Thanks for the video Andy
Great job Andy, I had our forklift service guy tell me about putting those cylinders in from the bottom, well, at least you'll remember if ya got to do it again..lol..I might suggest that you spray those lift chains down with chain lube...they look pretty dry...it will help extend their life..stay safe
Good video, Andy. I would like to say I was wondering about pulling the cylinders out from a lower spot, but I couldn't really tell how open it was. Sorry I wasn't much help. 😁
Andy I grew up on a Dairy myself I'd like to come up there to New York 1 day and check your dairy form out I'm retired now I'm disabled But I miss it I started working on a dairy farm at a very young age And I like the way you and your family runs that dairy farm
The reason why the price quote is so much higher is, forklift mechanics are considered, "specialty" service. Parts are cheap but, it's all their labor since again, they're "specialists". As for working on forklifts, just about anyone can work on one, not much to them. Company I currently work for, they have Crown fix Raymond forklifts... what a joke. Lifts are down more often than they run. Hate to bash Crown but, they're a joke at best. As for leaks, a leak is a leak, always need to fix them before they become a bigger leak. Andy, you boys just have way too much fun doing all this work. LOL. Great video as always, cheers :)
Andy, what are those red shop towels called? I like the blue Scott Shop Towels, bur there is a cheaper version of the Scotts that I don't like at all. I would like to gives the red towels a try. Thank you.
Like they say you don’t learn if you don’t expand your horizons if you do the same job every day you can be perfect that’s why I work on different things that you and do keep up the good videos it’s a jungle out there!!
I thought you were going strait for the pipe wrench. You surprised me with the spanners. I have never got spanners to do anything but smash my fingers.
@@FarmingFixingFabricating I figured. I’ve heard $300.00 per calf which seems high to me but it’s been a few years since we’ve bought any and last time we did they were around $100.00
Did you get a big pipe or in Sandy and put on the end of that cylinder or get a chain vise grip and put on the damn thing to get it loose you're using way too much flame wrench
