Whenever jk talks about attention and observation; it's worth listening, because some glimpses of truth are revealed to the people who watch it attentively.....
Harish T.k. Sir then attention means having no centre and concentration means having a centre which is trying to concentrate. As there is centre so thoughts ,choices, imagination all play the role.In this education system I feel concentration takes maximum importance. And attention I feel no have any about what it means.Everyone telling us to concentrate, sit straight, don't talk, control yourself .What do you feel.
praveen vaggannavar I see what you’re saying. So what does one do? If one doesn’t concentrate at all and is motionless because movement implies a sort of thought process how would one eat? How would one go to the bathroom for instance. Curious how one is fully aware of everything happening and be at peace with it and moving like water as they say, but at the same time knowing without thought and a certain awareness.
@@SpencerGBful you are right very good if you didn't know you're on the right track but to answer that I is to go into thoughts and what thoughts are literally! Because without this then there can be attention! To have attention I need awareness and I need to be giving my full attention to this awareness !! Then I can find peace 😁 it is a responsibility to this order in my Life which takes discipline! 😎 This is the start of meditation!
@@SpencerGBful Is their a need to eat ? Move ? At all ? Why eat ? - So that "I" don't die. Why should "I" not die ? Because it's "I". So ? Is that "I" real ? does it even exist ? No ! That "I" is the thought. I am only a thought. Sure their is a physical body and a brain, but the concept of "I" ? It's just a concept. Having no thoughts means having no motives. Not even the motive to live. That does not mean you should die, because then their will be a motive to die. Having no thought means just to "BE". The question "So what does one do?" - The point is not what should one do, but that one should not have a compulsion to do. Having a motive is a compulsion. Not having any motive is freedom. The ultimate freedom. The freedom of choice. Then, you can choose what is to be done. The ultimate choice.
Wow just superb. In attention there is no centre just attention. You are not there. But in concentration there is a centre so thoughts but All moving in one direction..

Which is still what awareness is. So basically Jiddu is admitting that attention is still awareness. because awareness has no choice either. Attention is the concentration of awareness. Meaning, attention is awareness intensified.
To understand attention, watch a baby (under 1-year) connecting with the external world: You will clearly see what attention is as opposed to controlled observation, thought, analysis. The young baby is 'paying attention' with absolute openness and lack of judgment to EVERYTHING...and when he/she fixes on something (person or object, color or sound, whatever) they are 100% absorbed in attending to it.
I have one doubt here, yes I noticed the same thing how babies are observing, but sometimes they don't know what is good or bad ,or things can harm them also without knowledge and understanding,
@@poonamthakur2807for example a baby don't know about a dangerous animal so he can touch it or go near it therefore thought is important to teach him that animal is dangerous staw away from it...
Attention is natural so it changes with time but Thoughts builds images which are static, where attention shows us what is the reality and thought shows us what we want according to our perception or knowledge what we have stored.
Jiddu says "is there a learning which is not limited? is there a learning which that is not an accumulated process of knowledge(learning)" What i think he ought to say here is "is there a knowing that is not an accumulated process of knowledge(learning)" Yes i think there is such a knowing. I agree that he says awareness is different from concentration. Jiddu also says Concentration implies focusing all thought on a particular subject, on a particular page, on a particular word." Which implies cutting off all other thoughts, building resistance to every other thought." What he ought to say is that Concentration "implies focusing all awareness on a particular subject, on a particular page, on a particular word." Which implies cutting off all other awareness, building resistance to every other awareness."
The right question is never asked out because it negates itself, as the question itself comes out of knowing the answer and therefore the question and its answer are not two separate entities..and therefore is the instantaneous ending of all questions...
Focus on one object, sound, smell or texture in your minds eye at the exclusion of everything else. At first, you’ll only be able to put that exclusionary attention on one thing for a fraction of a second to a second. Don’t give up. When your mind wanders, and it will, just gently come back to your object. Keep practicing and you’ll see how after a few days, your attention has increased.
Shallow thinker me getting to know something on the surface level, nice explanation of awareness, concentration and attention, it stimulated really, thanks for the video.
With such example in the last , i will never forget that But ... In that situation when your attention is completely outwards , still i think unconscious mind have self .
What is the bases of your living, it's your awareness, its something you can intimately engage with, and sharpen. It takes your effort to feel yourself in this moment and look at all stimuli coming to your attention (phsycial), and how you react to it(mental), without judgement, but watching it and seperating and finding that eye inside. Relax.
Exactly why I'm confused he says there's no choice in attention. The act of attention is by itself a choice. Our awareness even though there's an element of choicelessness in it on some level requires some form of choice to it. I feel what he meant by saying that attention is awareness without choice is that there's no analysis/evaluation in attention since attention is still awareness. I however agree with him that concentration is different from attention. It is attention that requires concentration. Attention is the concentration of awareness.
I just want to say thank you for this and so many others!! and I am trying this I am doing this ; I'm not just thinking about it 🙊🏃💟 😂. And now I know why he doesn't like comments from the audience most times 💪👋✌
Attention mindfulness awareness is all recognition which is all thought Only the senses receive choicelessly because senses precede recognition which is thought So there is the live sensation and senses in and of the body and then comes separation out to awareness mindfulness attention thinking etc. one is full of the throb of life ware as the others are empty dead states once removed from life… try it for yourself… the living sensation of your own existence is always there all through the body of you… anything else is a seperate on from that and no life is felt there
I think it is OK if the channel owners just keep the comments section disabled. It is not necessary for K's videos. These are not intended for discussion and intellectual delight.
This man, who don't have much muscles in the body, why did they not give him a comfortably chair to sit on, one that could give his body better support?
Hmm .. I heard in one of his video that one has to always sit straight & keep the spinal cord erect.. that chair must have been especially made to sit straight.. most videos I’ve watched he always sitting in the same kind of chair
Conceptual understanding wont take you across the river anyway. JK just wants you to question these to yourself and find the answers not based on any past experience or memory
Or you're pretty bad at understanding things. Not as a taunt. Just a thought for you to consider. This man has opened up my mind with his incredible, other-wordly clarity of mind even magic 'shrooms couldn't match.
I love you Guruji 🙏

Any act of will is just that, An act of MY will................IF the goal is to go beyond the "me" then the will must go........period.
Attention is a spontaneous act.
Silence ,real silence means you are there , no past
the death of the ego, the nirvana continues
desire is the essence of will
You can have desire, but not attention.

What's the difference between getting lost and attention...?in both there's no center of awareness
Thanks. Is it full video?
It's cut from a bigger clip. I don't know which one, but there's days of video material on this channel.
Just saw, it says in the description from which video this is taken.
Attention is the ordered and imposed physical control over the mind of regulatory governing body, by law of rules, or by intoxication of sense organs.

If its a tension of attention it probably go some knowledge wrote over it
How to get the name of the questioner?
Of course attention is brain activity. It is the data input phase of thought processing. So it has a lot to do with thought.
Nope attention is when thought is absent
Then you will be free.
What is attention?..... girls
