I dont know why people give the excuse of lukaku giving the interview a few weeks before it was released like thats a good thing, if anything it makes it a lot worse
Drogba may have not been prolific but he was waaaay more involved in games and a fighting force for Chelsea who you could see why he was in the side. How he made the side better with his general game and presence. But Lukaku? Hardly.

Not Lukakus fault . He made it clear before he signed that he can only play in a front 2 . Tuchel did that and Lukaku scored goals. When Tuchel changed to one striker Lukaku inevitably failed as he did at Man Utd. As a United fan I have seen Lukaku as a lone striker be almost invisble, however I have also seen him in a 2 striker system with Rashford score quick fire goals against Buffon with ease in CL. NOT EVERY STRIKER CAN PLAY LONE ROLE.
Then dont sign lukaku for chelsea get a striker who can play as a lone striker.

Lukaku is a great finisher. The issue is always going to be his fitness and his attitude. Conte got him lean and firing. When he was at United he scored a decent amount of goals, but he constantly looks uninterested, just a petulant child really. Terrible touch too
Lukaku has achieved what he wanted ,MONEY,done the same at utd ,never ever looks that fit .don't wish anybody bad but he hasn't performed simple.

To be disappointed in Lukaku would mean you had unreasonable expectations of him in the first place. Exceedingly average player and always has been. Talksport is entertaining but my God does it kill your IQ

Scott, as you mentioned in the beginning of the season Lukaku was very good. What happened? yes he got injured against Malmo and missed few games, but you didn't mention that around this time Chilwell also got injured and so was James injured around the same time. These two were the main suppliers for Lukaku, the team played very well. This interview was made weeks before it was screened, and seriously, nothing really so bad was said there, beside Lukaku was fit and sitting on the bench for wrong reasons. Yes, in the end the gap was 19 points. Was it because of Lukaku. Why nobody was talking about how Rudiger and Christiansen went to last intern. break and signed for other clubs, Real Madrid, one week before Chelsea played them!!!!! How on earth Tuchel kept on playing those two and keeping Challobah on the bench, and Chelsea were copping 4 goals per a game. Was Tuchel so blind or stupid??? Lukaku actually was very good around that time, and Havertz was a bit cheaper than him, was actually really shocking but no one talks about how Havertz gave ball away against Wolves with 30 seconds to go. Lukaku is a decent enough player but he's not Chelsea level. Even with Belgium, opponents know the real threat comes from De Bruyne's movement and Hazard ( when he was at his peak) not Lukaku specifically. Even Jeremy Doku is a bigger threat if you're a defender.

Chelsea would have been better off keeping Tammy Abraham. He is a sure top scorer. Scored actually many goals at villa then at Chelsea under lampard he was the club's top scorer during that season where they got top 4 and now he scored 27 goals which is close to all Chelsea strikers combined and is the record for most goals in a début season in the club as well as the English player who scored the most goals in Europe last season tie with Kane and by the way he did it in a mourinho system where he is doing a heavy and effective track back job as well as play making with quite a few assists. Big game player scored against Juventus AC Milan atalanta Leicester in the conference league semis and honestly the lukaku inter comparaisons dont make sense. Conte built that team around lukaku where he just had to finish the job with a very quality midfield.

Its obvious now that Inter and Lukaku used chelsea cause we had the money to stop them going in debt. Lukaku is a good salesman sold himself but didnt really about us.
