February 2022 Stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (spreading to Brain, and other parts of lung and lymph nodes)
Gene Mutation EGFR with Exon 20 Insertion
TREATMENTS: Received or currently Receiving
2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)
CURRENT TREATMENT:

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my family.

I have lupus and have used a scooter since age 28. It will give you such a feeling independence. You can go for walks with the kids and take the dog too. You will not need it anymore when you are done the medication but it will really help you right now.
You seem to be responding very well to the new
Medication. You seem to have much more energy.

What a wonderful gift from Kyle. I love the fact that it's a 3 wheeler. It's the Ferrari of mobility scooters. The relationship you and Kyle have is so precious, and so great for the children. I really hope the trial will kick cancer where it deserves to be kicked.

I've written to you before, I too am going through cancer and am terminal but it hasn't stopped me, I've been going through the same things you have, and my heart is just breaking for you this last video you put out actually made me cry because I know exactly how you feel I just want so bad to hug you and tell you just to fight and hang in there because unfortunately it doesn't get any easier but I feel you have the strength to carry you through the really hard times because I know the good times will outweigh the bad, you're going to make it with the help of your loving husband and the support he gives you, If you guys ever take a trip to Oregon I would love to meet and just talk. Kyle is a gem. And let this be a reminder to ALL of us that when you see someone on a mobility scooter, you never know what they're struggling with. So don't judge, and get things from high shelves for them!! Please remember to report ALL your side effects, no matter how minor or whether you think it's related to the treatment. This is vitally important in clinical trials.

My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer 19 months ago and he's thankfully been in remission with continued treatment the past year. We are senior citizens/empty nesters, and I cannot fathom going through this while having small children. You are an incredibly strong couple and set such a remarkable example for others. My best wishes to you both and may the new trial bring you health, healing and many more years with your loving family! BTW, I was somehow disappointed in "The Watcher." I'm a huge Alfred Hitchcock fan and no psychological thriller can measure up to his work, IMO!
Yea the ending was so bad on the watcher!!!! No solid ending at all and didn’t even tie things together. Congrats on your husband recovery!

Its about independance and still living your life, kyle is such a sweetie, he reminds me of my husband, i have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and im newly diagnosed, that is nothing compared to what your going through but you have helped me get my head staight and deal with it, so thank you jenny. That rash looks so much better than it was. Im praying for you all. x

Your husband is funny and such a supportive partner. He is pretty amazing as are you. This will help you do a lot more, it a great idea.
Not sure if your insurance covered any of the cost of the mobility scooter, but if your dr. hasn't already written you a Rx for one, check & see if he will & submit it to your insurance to see if they'll cover all or part of the cost. I think it's considered durable medical equipment. My mom needed to use one & her insurance covered it.

I met a man whose wife was using a scooter. We talked a bit and he explained that she used to have a 3 wheel one, but they replaced it with a 4 wheel, because the 3 wheel TIPPED several times. So, just be careful around corners.

I'm 45 my husband bought a scooter 2 months ago and mine is EXACTLY LIKE YOURS SAME COLOR TOO.We have been to Universal Studio and it works SUPER good the battery last all day as long as you have it fully charged when you get there .Always charge the battery every week even if you don't use it ,that what the guy told us at the place where he bought it, also it takes a while to get fully charged so it wiill be charging for a few days.I was diagnosed with Reumathoid Artritis at the age of 30 ,I was too young for that, well the doctor said that too.I have been in soo much pain lately and I can't play with my 12 year old daughter at the park .Im so sad because I'm in pain , now with the scooter I could at least go around the park with the scooter while she walks and Im happy I get to spend time with her.I really don't want to use it but I don't have a choice but is ok,Take Care.Love you guys.

I used to work on clinical trials for Pfizer. Trust me, it is a GOOD thing to be in clinical trials. It might suck, but even in order to be in trials, the drugs have to have significant evidence that the candidate drug is better than anything currently available. Therefore ALWAYS wworth it.
I'm so glad a bit of freedom returned with the scooter.
Isn't it amazing how the kids can teach us.
Hopefully the sores are a stage after the angry bowl and will heal with some salt rinsing.
I realize it wasn't fun but made me smile thinking about the year the trip was too long despite breaks to partake in the festivities to find myself soaking in someone's hot bath the entire time trying to relieve the pain. Left the importance half of the med kit on counter.

Yaaay you can go all over the place with the mobility scooter 👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️ so pleased for you ❤️❤️as I've had to deal with my daughter's acne & dad's skin. Usually letting the skin dry would be better. Especially if the gel is irritating it more & burning? My daughter uses DuAc cream for skin & it clears it up well👍happy travels with your new independence ♥️♥️♥️ Kyle is an amazing partner so thoughtful. But you are both equally thoughtful to eachother! I have the same one. They can ‘suddenly’ stop - if it does, there is a lever near the battery at the back (yellow)move it between the options and it will restart ( switch off first / between). It happens if you jolt it, ie over a kerb etc. You think oh no! Its’ broken, i’m stuck. Nope you aren’t.
You can get ‘bigger’ batteries that are better going uphill and will travel a little further.
Make sure you charge it if left unused a while.
Ps its actually wise to get second battery anyhow, especially for when using at Disney etc, one charged, one being used. Mine is four wheels. Also, buy the bag that fixes to back of the seat - invaluable. I stitched a piece of webbing in it with dog clip on end which i clip to a small zipped bag holding my keys and money which lie beneath coats etc - added security.
Finally, diarrhoea, keep some jello / jelly sweets / marshmallows in the house and eat a small handful if you are suffering with it but not in a dreadful state due to it.
kyle is so thoughtful!! i love this. i can imagine it’s hard to accept having to use assistive devices but y’all are so positive and this will bring so much independence. Sending love 💞

You can attach a wagon to that scooter for the kids at Disneyland we just used a bungee cord to ours that is similar to yours
Jenny,I think the scooter was a great ,great idea!!! My 20 year old daughter needed a walker,and later a wheelchair and continuous oxygen for 4 years. Six months ago at age 30, she became free of those devices , breathing and walking without any assistance . You are so wise to have such a great attitude about using what you need when you need it and looking at the great benifits!
