  • Day 2 of the short Auckland trip, and this time I focussed mainly on trams instead of trains (although the AM electrics do still feature near the end).
First was the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT) tramway in Western Springs, which had three trams running on the day I visited. These were Auckland 'Streamliner' No. 248, along with two Australian trams; ex-Melbourne W2 class No. 321 and SW6 class No. 906. Then it was off to Wynyard Quarter for the Auckland Dockline Tram; a line I hadn't visited since 2018. Incidentally that also had an ex-Melbourne tram running on it.
Lastly I went back to the CAF-built electric trains, and filmed them on the Eastern and Western lines. Next time I go to Auckland I'll be filming more of the AMs as well as Te Huia and the ADL diesel units.

When you're in Auckland again, please say hello to the motormen and conductors. They are always happy to talk to you and show you around. (I was the Motorman on #321). Thank you for posting this great video story.

I'm considering going to M.O.T.A.T. again when I'm next in Auckland (that'll be on June 19). If I do it'll probably just be to ride the trams again.

@@DC4260Productions I'll keep an eye out for you. I'll be driving either 321 or 906 on the 19th

How dumb was it Auckland to do away with trams in the 50 and 60s , look at overseas cities bringing them back
