7 Effective Ways to Get Rid of All Insects at Home

  • Are there any effective and harmless methods of getting rid of any insects? Unfortunately, the chemical pesticides sold in stores are way too toxic and harmful to be used anywhere near your home, family, or pets. If these chemicals can kill insects, surely they cannot be good for you! That's why it's better to use something natural and safe.

    SUMMARY:
    - If you want to get rid of these pests, there are many products you can get from the store, but most of them are usually highly toxic. This can be especially dangerous if you have small kids or pets.
    - Ticks can spread terrible diseases such as Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Colorado tick fever, ehrlichiosis, and tularemia. Some of these conditions can be fatal.
    - One of the ways to get rid of garden pests is to create a special repellent with the use of tobacco. This product is especially effective if you need to scare away worms, aphids, and caterpillars.
    - This natural repellent won't kill spiders, but it will keep them away because they don't like strong smells.
    - Ants absolutely hate the smell of cinnamon. That's why you should put cinnamon powder in places where you think the ants are entering. For more effective results, you can add some essential oil to the cinnamon powder.
    - These things are so tiny that you can’t even see them with the naked eye. But unfortunately, if you don't see them, it doesn't mean they're not around. They live in household dust, prefer warmer places, and their favorite food is skin flakes.
    - Weevils prefer grains and seeds but can also appear in flour or even pancake mix. The larvae of these bugs live and develop inside your food supplies. And you don't even suspect anything until one month after their birth when they suddenly appear in your food.

Yes. I had wasps set up on the front of my RV 3 years in a row when I first moved in. They never stung me so I left them alone. But I did put Vicks above my door because it was eery walking out with them 6" above my head.
The Vicks must have spread out because the next year they didn't come back and haven't been back since.
I've also fought off ants, 4 different types for 6 years. Last year I didn't see them inside for once. I put Vicks at the corners and used baby powder/crushed pepper mix under the RV at the contact points and tree bases that overhang my trailer. It dries them out, like borax, and isn't toxic to other animals.

Thanks for sharing! For ants the only thing that’s working is Lavender Cleaner & Deodorizer, but only to apply directly over the ants. I used the vinegar, but it didn’t work for ants, but It’s been long since I’ve seen a cockroach, the ants keep coming. Even ones, they were all over a WD-40 spray can. I spread salt at the access points, but didn’t last long when they found an alternate route. For outside pet feeding areas I put a plate of water under the dog’s plate, but the dog tent to spill the water. I just feed a dog & a cat, and stayed with them until they finished, then clean the area.

Bay leaves and garlic are working very well against cockroaches. We've got them from our new neighbors. I had to fight against cockroaches for several months and spent lots money on commercial sprays, preys and clea ning the house with the vinegar every night. However, after placing bay leaves and garlic everywhere in the house, I got rid of these diseases creating creatures in one week.👌

I tried garlic... The egg and boric acid trick... The vinegar trick... None of it is working. After the egg and boric trick... It made it worse... They mutated. So now... I am going back to my chemicals and store bought stuff. Roach motels to bring down the amount and boric acid to keep the one walking around. And brute force for all i can get too. So far... It is making a difference. I will try the onion and baking soda in the kitchen to see if it works. That is a new one.

Just a friendly learning lesson. Spiders aren't poisoness, they are venomous. Poison is something that effects you by just touching your skin, like poison ivy. Venom is transferred by being injected into your skin, like a spider bite. :)

@@susanmccormick6022 Walmart sells it in the washing detergent area. It comes in a box about the size of a small box of washing powers. Google it to know what you are looking for " Borax detergent". Should come up with "Twenty Mule Team" brand.
I would think pets would not bother the power, but I'm no vet so you might have to ask around. I would not use it where small children can reach though. Basically, it is the same stuff roach poison is made of, at least the active ingredient boric acid. Put it behind major appliances under sinks or where insects might travel, even furniture in small amounts. I just spread it out, Vaccum if needed, and add more when needed.
