They also take back particles on their legs and body structures and causes their entire families to constantly feed and parish. They get crunchy after the mixture runs its coarse. The bugs came swarming out of everywhere for the feast. The even fought over the bait! The next day my kitchen was quiet. Most of the bugs were gone. For best results, be sure there are no other attractants around.

Keeping your house clean to ward off roaches is a myth. They will come in due to extremely hot weather or over abundance of rain. Also, what was not mentioned is that they like cardboard containers like cereal boxes, etc. what I do is after grocery shopping I take everything I can out of the boxes and put the products in air tight plastic containers. That also helps to keep mice from nibbling on your food stuff. Just my suggestions. They work for me.

Even the slightest grains of sugar on a countertop can attract roaches.
Those aluminum door sweepers that are drilled onto the outside of the front door work great. They can't get through the bristles and go away.
But unfortunately, many people live in apartment buildings where they clean, night and day but have surrounding neighbors who refuse to let exterminators in, so it's a big problem. And if it's a private house next door it's coming from.. forget it! you have to move.

I have a fear of roaches. Not spiders or anything, but just roaches. And I officially can’t live comfortably in my home anymore. I can’t go into my kitchen for a snack, I can’t go into the porch or take the dogs outside, I can’t use the bathroom or take a shower, I can’t use a light switch, and now I can’t sit comfortably in my room. All because of places I’ve seen roaches in my home recently. We even got the place sprayed for pests, and they’re still showing up.

I had a roach problem not too long ago. They only live for a year or so, but they multiply very fast and before you know it they will form a colony in your home. Before exterminating them I studied them for a period of time. They are nocturnal, extremely photosensitive, once you turn on the lights they'll scatter immediately. I also saw them eat fresh onion and garlic. They can climb well, but steel, say a steel sink is a trap for them as it's too smooth. They like dark places to make their nest where they hide during the day such as in wall cabinets, behind and under furniture, drawers and similar dark confined places especially where human presence is scarce.

Personal note about borax: you can sprinkle that stuff all over (every room in your house on the floor) even with an infestation of roaches and fleas and it'll do the job. It takes a while but I was able to basically eliminate a bad infestation with just borax. Don't ask how long exactly, I think it was about a month before the fleas died off then a bit longer for the roaches.

I’m using the chemicals (not spray the bait gel and disks) THEN I’ll use these methods to help keep them away. Best of both worlds

I use a blend of white vinegar, dish soap and water in a spray bottle; kills them on contact. They come up from the floor boards I think they are under my duplex. I will want to get rid of them permanently but, we can't use any poisons in my home. I will try a few of these. Thank you.

Ants is occasionally a problem in our house. We live in Florida where it’s unbearable in the summertime and it rains a lot too so that’s part of the reason why pests exist. But I think these tricks would keep these annoyances out of there.

Roaches feed upon decaying organic matter, leaf litter and wood around it. This material traps a lot of atmospheric nitrogen in them, and when cockroaches feed upon them, they release the trapped nitrogen into the soil (through their feces). Plants and trees then take in that nitrogen and it helps them grow.

@@pk435 However, mosquitoes serve important functions in numerous ecosystems, serving as food for many species, helping filter detritus for plant life to thrive, pollinating flowers, and even affecting the herding paths of caribou in the tundra. Last, scientists are looking at the mosquito for potential medical treatments.

Slippery jar trap, oil the inside
