I am doing a Masters Degree in Statistics in Germany and I think this degree is soooo underrated. Some people didn't even know you could study Statistics as a Major.
This is dope, stats has been a big thing in the NFL. They’re hiring a lot more data analysts to give them the highest % to win a game. When to go for it on 4th, when it’s most effective to pass, to run, etc. it’s pretty crazy.
@@ChristianGardner that part too! BYU just got a new President for their university and he has a huge background in stats and was actually offered a job with the eagles at one point. You should check him out. Shane Reese is his name
I am a transfer applicant waiting on college decisions. I applied for a statistics or data science major. I just wanted to say thank you for your time and commitment to sharing your knowledge and experience.
8:03 LOL, Statistics has the power to literally improve the world through quanitfication and explanation of data. I don't know what that guy talking about.
Love this reaction format Chris 😎 Also appreciate that there were parts that you agree and disagree. Pop off, Chris. 🥳 Wish it has a summary section towards the end but overall, great video. 🤩
Good stuff. Listen to your videos. Kind of makes me wish I did Stats major with a CS minor. But what are your thoughts for Stats masters with a Bach in CS if I wanna get into data science? On the fence if I should get a grad degree in CS or stats.
Hey love your videos! I’m graduating at the end of this semester with a Mathematics degree with a concentration in Statistics. I was looking forward to landing a data analyst job but through my college I wasn’t given the best programming knowledge to pursue that role in my opinion. I was wondering if you had any entry- level job recommendations for statistic graduates that don’t have a strong programming background? Thank You
I have a economics degree and i remember seeing his video on economics and thinking it was very bad. He did a base level research that was shallow and ill informed
Hey there, i am personally doing a double major in psychology and statistics with the aim of in the end doing a masters in industrial organizational psychology. Do you think thats a viable path? Or is it too much statistics? Both degress have a bunch of atats after all...
@@ChristianGardnerhey, just wanted to ask, would you say that me being introverted and over all disliking doing presentations and research would limit my career prospects with a statistics degree? Wondering if I should combine stats, with economics or finance, instead of psychology, which does seem mostly useless, not likely to be leveraged. Chatgpt tries to tell me it can be used in user experience, HR behaviorial analysy, but i doubt it. Psychology degree is a must for industrial organisational psychology, but that field doesn't seem introvert friendly in Israel. Tl;DR: is psychology gonna help me with job search in any way, considering my interests, or should I switch it to something along the lines of Econ/business? Sry if the comment is too long, I am just getting confused on my path lol.

@@summerhasslett6038 I quit psychology and I am doing only statistics rn. In my country I realised my end goal was just about impossible and not worth it at all. I'll just take a masters in statistics later and get some related job. Good luck to you in the double major though!
i did bachelors degree in business. will i be able to get a job after masters in stats and data science (i got offer letter from queens mary London) please reply it will help a lot.
It depends where you live. My bachelor's degree was almost pure math. First year had a lot of real analysis, second year concentrate a lot on George Casella's "Statistical Inference" book. My first really practical course was "longitudinal data analysis" during my Master's degree
Oh I think I know where he got this data from - bls.gov . It’s a U.S. bureau of labor statistics , there is a occupational outlook handbook where the details of different jobs are listed (Btw I am also going into this field and these type of videos really help in gaining perspective and get me more excited for future🙃 )

Hell yeah! Best of luck 😎
hey man wish you mind telling me 1)which university in Germany and what was your subjects in bachelors
I don't really thinks it's underrated. I think most people are afraid of Maths and statistics involves heavy maths so people have to runaway

Absolutely so cool, and data scientists to predict outcomes based on changes and fitting models to simulate performance/fatigue 😳

@Yaahboi52 Man, I would love to work for the NFL.

I think that’s an awesome idea! I’m going to be trying for my masters in stats as well!
Can I become a software engineer with a bachelors degree in statistics ?
Possibly but probably not the best/easiest route
What if I used the self learning route to learn programming or I went to a boot camp
His video was what helped me make the switch to statistics. Overall I thought it was helpful at the surface level
Definitely agree! I just wanted to clear up a few things that were said and give the perspective of somebody who went all the way through it!

Thanks 🙏🏼 but I’d say you can still look into being an analyst, I know a lot of people who will use excel and tableau as a data analyst!
