How to Customize a PCM 5.0 Home Screen

- This video will show you how to customize the home screen and info widget on the PCM of a 2020 Porsche 992 Carrera S. Customizing the home screen is important, as provides easy access to various vehicle controls while driving. This process can be done on the PCM of 2020+ 911s, 2019+ Cayennes, 2018+ Panameras and 2019+ Macans. Basically any PCM screen that is in a wide screen format and does not have color home screen graphics. If you have color home screen graphics you have the newer PCM software and can refer to my more recent videos.

What a clear, concise overview of this feature! My wife has had a Macan S for 3 years and I noticed how utterly cluttered her home screen was - with a bunch of useless junk. I will use this to create a couple of clean , useful home screens for her. Thank you very much!
Paul, your 8 minute video taught me more about the PCM than all my reading and other Porsche aids. Please do more as the new 992 is complicated until you reach a certain level of understanding.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to favorites list, immediate close-up of what I’m playing, and a navigation panel. My dealer said I couldn’t make this happen. Thanks

Hello Paul, I have a new to me 2021 911 C2S. Is it possible to make your next button on steering wheel skip to next favorite station instead of the next numerical station?
Paul good video but it isn't working? I had set my screen with a medium size tile on the right with two small tiles beneath it. On one of these tiles it would give me a picture of the album cover of the song being played. I want to keep that and like your idea of NAV in one tile and the on/off engine switch in the third tile is good because it would be a faster way to turn it off from the way I now do it. What's happening is before when I would touch the arrow in front of these tiles my display of "favorite" channels would shrink allowing me to see the content of these tiles. For some reason now when I touch the arrow it shows the a/c settings? I can't eliminate that info with is on one large size tile. Can you help? So frustrating I can't fix it and this just started on it's own. Please help. Thanks Rick.
I have a question. You can setup a 5 different home screens. Is thre a way to change them on a fly? I customize few and would like to switch betweeen them while driving. Right now, I can change them only if stationery and by going trough home screen setup.
Nice video. Is there a way to auto connect Spotify (thru Bluetooth) or must be each time? Also I had previously setup Homelink, not able to get that profile to display?

Do you know of any button that allows you to scroll or cycle through your favorite list on Sirius XM radio or the media section? I know you can change the station by selecting each on the screen. The programmable button on the 992 steering wheel appears to only allow you to move to the next channel/station or previous station, not next favorite. Thank-you.
Unfortunately there is no way to scroll through your list of favorites...
@@paulsteinbruner2129 Thank-you. That is what I have discovered. My Homelink system and comfort access barely work as well. I hope they put out a fix to some of these issues.
My 2022 911 GTS does not allow small or medium tiles and is much less user friendly. Any idea why?
You have PCM 6.0 which is a completely different operating system.
Paul, Ive tried to drag Car play over to my custom template but it gives me the block symbol. It wont allow me to drop and confirm. Any idea why this is happening. Thank you for the video

How to reboot or restart PCM ？
Why does the Apple CarPlay symbol (the arrow inside the circle) often covers over the album art or the selected stations? This never happened with their previous radios. No one at the dealership has been able to explain it.
That symbol means to can rewind or reply the content being played on satellite radio.
@@paulsteinbruner2129 How do you rewind or replay the content being played?? Is that actually possible?? I don’t know why the Apple CarPlay symbol would indicate that. Sorry...just confused and hoping it’s not a “glitch” with the radio. Thanks!!
@@paulsteinbruner2129 Porsche just confirmed that it is a glitch. But...no solve yet. Disappointing.
@@andydonchin9873 If you go to Media then Play and you are on satellite radio, you will be able to pause and rewind live radio using the controls at the bottom.
@@paulsteinbruner2129 Paul, thank you. It seems you can always pause and rewind the music if the Apple CarPlay logo is there or not. You just can’t go “live” if there is no Apple CarPlay logo. I guess my complaint is why sometimes the satellite stations are live when you select them and...sometimes not.
