  • In today's video, I attempt to lay an epoxy coating on my garage floor. I decided to purchase the Rust-Oleum Rock Solid from my local Home Depot. It is a Ploycurimine and is supposed to be 20x stronger than regular epoxy.

That's a nice floor! Well done. Same thing happens painting cars. As soon as you lay on a clear coat, the flies pop out of nowhere. Now you just need a MaxJax MX-6 two-post lift. I bought one a few years ago for my home garage and, short of a full sized two-post lift, it is the best thing ever! I have a painted floor in my garage and the hardest thing on it was the floor jack and jack stands--especially the jack stands.

Yes the return of the viper! One of my favorite uploads also my parents got their garage floor treated with that stuff when it was getting built and it does help with oil spills but it’ll still stain like any other floor

Do it over Eric, and this time turn a shop fan on high speed ,place it by the back wall ,open the garage door to blow them out ,then close the garage door and start working from the garage door back to door going into your house.Guaranteed you won't have any bugs on your floor but do it before first hand completely sets.

Rule #1 of DIY projects. DON'T TELL othe people about what's wrong with the project. Welp... too late for that. Great job! I never would have noticed the bugs down below, but... now that you mention it.... :-) Hopefully you can get the tape up off the floor!

I work with epoxy all the time, and often enough outside: bugs can't get enough of the stuff. Wait 30 days, then sand down, fill, and polish the bug spots.

So this 2.5 kit is enough for a two car garage. Remember when paining your changing the color not putting icing on a cake which is where I think most go wrong trying to get it as thick as possible.

So we know what we should charge thanks Eric, dont stop with yr videos

Thanks for your video. I moved into a new home and don't have any helpers so it is nice to see it can be done solo. Also, you showed what was contained in the product box and great to know roller and etching is included. All I ever saw in videos was diamond grinders, wet/dry shop vacs, multiple people working on the job, etc., so it is nice to see that it is a fairly straightforward process. Do you know if they have a less glossy, maybe satin or semi-gloss option? Can one buy an additional bag of the coating without buying an entire kit? Additional flakes? Thanks again for a well done video

Congratulations on the house. Just don’t tell me it’s in Katy.
Next time, I recommend have a fan blowing across the garage opening. It will act like a air curtain and keep all if not almost all bugs out or keep adding more fans. I would’ve painted the edges of the garage because once you take off the tape it won’t be as good of a clean look. Either way great job brother.
