Never heard of the NET bible. I went to a used bookstore and bought the one with all the notes for under seven dollars. Me likes this bible a lot.
A good find! Thanks for listening and God bless
The notes are worth the price alone! You got a great deal! 👍

The greatness of America someone just discards an expensive bible like that. I buy it for under seven dollars and the used book store makes a profit. Amazing.
@@wildrover9650 lol! Sp true.
If you are interested, you can get the full translator version of the NET as an ebook. I got one many years ago for $5.00 and downloaded it to my iPad.
Thank you for this overview. I've been using the NET (& it's excellent & extensive notes) for sermon preparation since 2020. Highly recommend it!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for listening and God bless.
Excellent work and great level of detail. I greatly appreciate this channel!
Thanks for your thoughts and listening! God bless!
Thank you for the knowledge we are learning from this channel. Thank you Professor!!!
You are quite welcome! I’m happy to help and thank you for your support.
Wow I am loving the net Bible!!!
So glad you enjoy it !
I've been reading the NET thinline for a year. Its one of my favourite bibles since it's portable for me to take to work/church, the font is bold and large (I have poor eyesight), and the translation feels like the lovechild of the NASB and the NLT. Its as literal as a NASB in lots of places, but the choice of words is very contemporary like the NLT.
@@Ldgreggbell Thanks for listening and sharing your comments. God bless!
Thank you!

Nice review of the NET Bible. I have a print version which I love, though sometimes the print layout is interesting. For example, there are more than a few pages where there are far more notes than verses. Excellent transparency into the translation process.
Thanks for sharing! I appreciate it
Pretty interesting.
Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts. I appreciate it
I Noted 1 Timothty 3:16 - "He was revealed in the flesh" rather than "God" was manifested in the flesh. With a great deal of reasoning notes.
the problem we have with this video and so many others is that the picture on the screen does NOT match the bible edition they are talking about... for instance at the 3:38 minute mark of this video,.. he is talking about the first edition released in 2005 and showing the full notes edition...released in 2019 on the screen...basically skipping over a screen shot of what the 2005 edition text looked like and its format.. while the words of 2005 are coming out of his mouth the 2019 full notes bible is pictured...
this video would have done a greater service.. to help people be aware of the different editions of the N.E.T. bible if they would have talked about them each one at a time.. and showed the corresponding bible on the screen that matched the dialogue..at the appropriate times....
The great sign given by God is noted in the Net in Matt 1:23.
“Look! The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will name him[a] Emmanuel,”[b] which means[c] “God with us.”[d]
A quotation from Isa 7:14. It is unclear whether the author is citing the MT or the LXX. The use of the word παρθένος (parthenos, “virgin”) may be due to its occurrence in the LXX,
😮
'Tetragrammaton' was actually a heavy metal band from North Carolina. Their lead guitarist, Phillip, could really kick out the jams.
The NET bible has awful renderings. By all rights, 2 Timothy 4:2 should read: "preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season ..." Who could screw that up? Hold your beer, here comes the NET: "Preach the message, be ready whether it is convenient or not." Convenient or not? Barf.
The NET bible avoids elegance. The purpose is readability and accuracy.
This is my favorite translation because I feel like translation honesty gets lost in the elegance forward translations such as ESV and NKJV. It just feels like they are lying to me.
It's lying because it reads pretty. We are translating from a completely different langauage and therefore the translation should be robotic not elegant. If you read the Interlinear bible it is not elegant at all.
